Hi! Busy day here so far. My girlfriend and I have been trying to get together all week to drink wine but couldn't find a night that worked so she's on her way over with her LO for a playdate... and to drink wine 😉
You can feed them to the chickens. It sounds weird, but they lose a lot of calcium in the process of laying, so consuming the eggs is a good way for them to restore nutrients.
I have friends with rescue chickens that don't eat or sell any eggs and that's what they do with them. The hens live it, apparently.
This. Although, we use to have some hens that as soon as they laid the egg they would turn around and peck it open to eat it. Vultures.
If they're laying that many (as many as @peachsmama's) eggs, they really need the calcium.
They aren't supposed to lay that frequently. That is terribly hard on their body. They usually don't make it longer than 2 years. If you care for them very well, you might get more life out of them but their production also declines.
You and your mom might already know this, but they are fairly likely to have some pretty serious health problems as they age. Impacted oviducts being one of them. They need to have surgery to remove the dead/decaying eggs. Their system can't quite keep up with the cross breeding that's been done to get them to produce 300 eggs/year.
Has your mom decided what she wants to do when they stop laying? I assume she wouldn't starve shock then into production again?
TL;DR The chickens could probably maintain better health if they ate some of the eggs.
I'm looking for new curtains for the kids room. I found some cute ones for C, but finding curtains for H has been near impossible. Any recommendations? I've looked at Target, Overstock, Amazon, etc. I'd prefer room darkening/blackout to help keep out any drafts.

Pottery Barn Kids typically has room-darkening ones. I've also seen some decent ones on Wayfair at times.
Also, don't laugh, but depending on what style you want, I always look at a site called Country Curtains. Don't let the name throw you, they have some attractive things. I got Caroline's nursery drapes and some for my guest room there. I don't believe they have kid-specific designs, but if you're looking for a solid or something with a stripe, check, etc., you might want to take a look.
Charlie will not quit it with the ailments. He has two patches of rash behind each knee. I called the doctor about that yesterday and she told me it's probably eczema but keep an eye on it and use hydrocortisone. It hasn't gotten better, but it didn't get worse. Today when he woke up at 2, his upper outer thigh has this tremendous patch of bright red super warm skin.I gave him Motrin, and the majority of the heat went away, but the redness is still there. If you wakes up at it tomorrow morning, I guess we'll have to go to the doctor.
Oh no! Poor guy. I hope it's cleared up by the morning.
Today was the longest day of this week--the clock just seemed to stand still. We just had Wendy's for dinner and I let B eat in front of the TV and watch Cars. I'll accept my MOTY trophy now, thank you.
DH is due to fly back tomorrow from San Diego. We FaceTimed with him and he seemed to be losing his voice and kept rubbing at his eye. Get thee behind me, Satan. I have got everyone in this house healthy (or at least not dying). Do not bother coming home if you are bringing germs with you.

I got Ikea ones and then added on the darkening panel..It's not totally blackout, but I like it. We just did a beige linen. We got their true blackout ones for our room and I think they are a little darker, but a little shinier than I'd prefer...But only $40 and we rent so I am okay with replacing down the road.
I just started watching The Killing tonight on Netflix. Damn having a job so I couldn't watch more than 3 episodes last night. Has anyone else watched this? I'm pretty late getting started since season 1 was in 2014.
Thanks ladies for all the recommendations! I'll take a look at those sites today I think I just had something in my head that may not actually exist...
I watched the fall and was addicted! I'm sad it's over. I wish they had done another episode or two to let us know more about the characters and what happens afterward.
They are interesting reads. Better than the first movie. They are more about the relationship than the sex. I wouldn't consider the sexual relationship between the two consenting adults of the story abusive, though. It's a lifestyle, not one I would engage in, but to each her own. She knew what she was getting into in the relationship, he literally spelled it out to her and she agreed to it. The books explore it better and put it in a more understandable light.

The scene where he is spanking her and she is crying was not good. And I think he followed her or something when she was with her family to take her back. It was very controlling and rang alarm bells for me. I get the whole sexual thing but I felt the control reached beyond that and was concerning.
Sry. Just saw this.
The part where she is crying. She actually asked for that. Like literally said, show me how far it can go. Was she in pain? Probably, she should have used her safe word, and he tells her that in book 2. That he never would have gone that far had she said "red". Anyway, she was also crying in that scene because she came to the realization that she wasn't going to be able to handle this side of him and that she would have to be the one to leave, which upset her because she loved him. He doesn't realize what he is doing has gone too far, and to him this sort of thing is "normal" because it is what he has known since he was 15.
And as for the following her to her parents house. They had been texting and she said, "I miss you, I wish I could see you." He being the crazy rich dude that he is, flew out there on his jet to surprise her. It was romantic, not stalking.
The second movie will still have some of the red room stuff in it, but it's different. She'll be calling the shots this time around and he has sworn off the more extreme things. I'm interested in seeing the new side of him. the first book/movie he has a hard to read persona, whereas in the second he is able to let go and be a more "normal" person with an actual personality.
But, yeah, without reading the books you tend to not get all the little details that are hard to put on screen in an understandable way. I think that is why a lot of the people who say the movie without reading the book were all "wtf?"
