I'm here off and on! I mostly hang out on GKU and the AL boards right now, lurk on Parenting sometimes. J has a personality like a tiny Italian grandmother. She drives me nuts sometimes, makes me laugh a lot, is smart and already has better balance than I do. She's using the potty very inconsistently, and I do need to work with her more seriously on it. Our first try over the summer was an epic failure but I think she's mostly ready now. We're currently TTC, although I use the term loosely. I'm ready and also not.at.all.ready to be pregnant again but we'll see what happens. Glad to see so many congratulations are in order over here!
I am cracking up that you described J as an Italian Grandmother!!
gahorseygal, we are right there with you with the eating issue. DS only eats like 6 foods. I brought it up to our pedi and he said he is growing well so there is no concern. I feel guilty like you but hey our kids have to eat.
Update to my earlier update. DH and I had a serious conversation about a number 3 last weekend. He is all for it. I would want to start TTC this summer for a spring baby next year (DD would be two + teacher so longer time home). That being said, I have a lot an anxiety because of my very unexpected pre-term delivery and being 2 out of 2 for cord complications. We decided to make an appt with the OB to discuss what high-risk PG would look like, and to see what their advice is medically. I know no one can predict the future, but I want to be wise and also think about quality of life while PG with the two I have.
@becominggold would you and your H be okay if they said it was too risky and that they don't recommend you having a third?
Yes. I think we are both 50/50 with the feeling that maybe out family is not complete, maybe it is. I actually think this info will help us make the decision.

Hey ladies! Glad to see everyone is doing well! I just lurk around these days when I get a chance to be online. DD is doing great and is so smart! She talks non stop and repeats everything, lol! It's so fun being able to have conversations about her day and hearing her tell me what she did at school or while over at grandparents house. We got very blessed in the potty training department. She basically just decided she was ready one day and that was it. We went with her lead and she has been using the potty since before she turned 2. We are in a mommy and me dance class once a week and she absolutely loves it!
We just another little girl in Jan. She is 8 weeks now! We may possibly try for a third but it will be at least 3 years if we do. DD1 is starting to get jealous when I am nursing or trying to get the baby to sleep. Yesterday she threw her self down in a fit because I was nursing DD2 and wouldn't nurse her (she was only breastfed for the first 2weeks, formula after that so it's not the nursing that she is missing). So now I'm just trying to deal with that and try to figure out a way to get through this phase. I'll go back to work on Mar 20 so maybe getting back into normal routine will help calm things down a bit.

Mommy and me dance class sounds like so much fun! I want to get DS into something like that but nothing fits into our schedule. Congratulations on baby2!! The jealousy thing usually ebbs and flows it seems. But DD1 will become the best big sister!!

Hey everybody! I just saw this. I'm glad everyone is doing well. I lurk on Parenting and post in the Walking Dead thread every week. DD2 is doing great. She learns a lot from her sister and knows her alphabet and counts. I'm amazed at some of the words she is using. We started potty training on Jan 2 and after the first 2 days she's been great. She's not night trained but will wake up in the middle the night to have her pull up changed, so I might have to do something about that. DD1 night trained soon after day training, so I'm going to have to work on night training DD2.
DD1 turns 5 in April and will be starting kindergarten in September. She's doing really well in Pre-K.

Hiiiii! I miss you! I am glad DD2 is doing great! I cannot believe DD1 will be going to kindergarten already. Our babies are almost not babies anymore.

DD was born Sunday!! Big brother is doing really well so far, of course he has both my mom and DH giving him a lot of attention right now. I'm scared of being home w 2 starting Monday but recovery has been smooth it's just getting the nursing down w her latch, my poor bleeding nips
daisylola11 Congratulations!! Beautiful children! I want to tell you not to worry about being home with two kids, but that is silly! Of course you are going to worry! So take some deep breaths and know that every day gets a little bit easier. Some moments might be tough and you'll want to pull your hair out; but then you will see your son go and kiss your daughter on the head just because he loves her so much. And everything will be okay
Thank you vk for starting this! It's been way too long since I checked in. I mostly hang out on Parenting, and now the November 17 BMB! Got my BFP last week!
DD is equal parts absolutely adorable and completely crazy-making. She is in a whiny/clingy phase and has definitely learned the art of fake crying. But also so smart and funny - loves to sing and dance and play pretend. OBSESSED with babies, so she's going to be really pumped when she finds out she is going to be a big sister.
We tackled potty training last November and had good luck, she fully trained pretty quickly.

KAREN!! Congratulations!! I am so excited for you! I am also cracking up that your DD is a fake crier! DS just started doing that over the past few weeks and it makes me laugh!

Thanks!! I know, it's hysterical to watch her be so dramatic but I have to keep a straight face or it just eggs her on.
I'm so glad to check in and see this. It so exciting to see families growing and get updates. And mostly I'm glad my kid isn't the only one who hasn't potty trained yet!! 😉
Anna is such a talker and sometimes I can't believe the conversations I'm having with her. She's always surprising me. I have left teaching (for now!) to SAH with her and our new DD who is almost 8 months now. I love being at home, but it has been challenging to keep busy through the winter. My girls are so sweet to each other, it definitely makes me want #3. Having 2 small children has been kind of hard on our marriage though, so I'm not sure what to do about having another. Now that we are out of the newborn stage and settling into a good routine, things have gotten a lot better!! Maybe we will forget about the rough patch and throw another kid in the mix soon.
I really want to go through and reply to everyone, but they will both wake up soon! So hugs to everyone

Glad you are doing well! When was your DD2 born? Mine is almost 8 months too! I want a third kid as well, but want to wait a little bit longer before thinking about it. I just need to make sure H is on the same baby train as me.

Hi everyone! Its so nice to see "familiar faces"! I lurk on Parenting these days but miss posting with you all. It feels like just yesterday we were posting birth announcements, crazy! Love to see the updates!
DS is doing great. He is non stop talking and moving, into everything except his eleventy million toys & keeping us on our toes for sure! He is so strong willed & discipline is difficult because he couldn't care less about time outs or taking things away so that is hard, but such is life with a 2.5 year old I guess. He is in "school" 2 days a week which was a tough transition for him after being at home with me for so long- but he's doing great now and it makes me so proud and happy to see him with his little friends. He is also in gymnastics class and soccer, which he loves. The boy has so much energy so we need a planned activity every day. Still not potty trained but making progress. Sleep is probably our biggest struggle. We still have to lay with him to sleep and he has major anxiety when he wakes and is in his bed by himself so it's tough. I have read every book and tried everything I can possibly think of but he is just such a crap sleeper and I'm out of ideas. Hoping it will get better the older he gets. It has to... right?! We have been TFAS since December but no success yet. Hoping for that BFP soon!

Mine was born the 22nd! And yes, they totally grew overnight! Time is flying!
