Nurse thought I'd agree to the rhogam shot in the butt... uh, no, my arm works just as well. Arms, legs, belly are all fine. I draw the line at shots in the butt.

Is there a reason she wanted to do it in the butt? I would also prefer the normal upper arm location.
I can't wait to tell people at work about this pregnancy. Two more weeks! Today I had meetings scheduled back-to-back from 9:00am-3:00pm. There was no time to get lunch. I panicked because lately if I eat lunch even a little later than my body wants it, I start to feel off. Would be nice to use the pregnancy as an excuse for some things like that and bathroom breaks. Luckily one meeting got moved and I only had to hold out a little while.

My doc always does the butt...it's never hurt or anything so I'm fine with it, ha.

Large muscle. I had it in my arm with DS1 so knew it could be done.

This brings me back to progesterone shots in my ass administered by DH. 1.5" needle. Oh my butt!
Bahahaha yes! I'll never forget that first time my husband came at me with a 1.5" needle. It's a whole new kind of love when your spouse is injecting you in the ass daily for months.

They always hurt like hell when I've had it. I stuck myself in the stomach for weeks and will again come delivery. I'd much rather do that than a butt shot..

Mad props to you for giving yourself shots. I have to look away whenever a needle is about to come near me.

I have a big butt so maybe I have good padding 😂
I'm really hoping I'm all done giving myself shots for awhile...I got pretty damn good at it, but I'm all set on honing that skill!

It was actually less nerve wracking to do it myself then let DH do it. He tried a couple times on the abdomen injections and I freaked out. But the butt ones were fine because I couldn't see what he was doing. I got to be a pro at injections.....in the car, real quick at parties, in the bathroom at work. It's no big deal once you get started.

I'm late, but +1 to feeling fine the whole of the 1 hour GTT. I didn't even think the drink was that bad - like super sugary Gatorade or flat Slice. One of my co-workers actually likes the way it tastes.
Around 20 weeks I definitely found baby's movement usually corresponded with my meals - baby moved a lot more during and after a meal. I also wouldn't notice movement as much on busy days. DH couldn't feel baby until about 24 weeks, around the time I could see movement externally. Movement got bigger (like knocking my badge into the air) and started corresponding with when I was sitting/laying down. Now I'm almost 36 weeks and it's more like baby shifts to make room and I'll feel prolonged periods of pressure and pokey bits that come and go. I can tell where baby is now (e.g., I can feel a lump that is probably a butt, the back or side, a head) and this is probably the first week I have been able to do that.
As far as movement...I started feeling pops and such around 16 weeks. 24 weeks now and for a week or so I've been able to mostly predict movements. She gets excited when there's food, and when I lay down for any reason. We also learned she likes H's voice, as she does some huge movements when he's reading to her. Or maybe she hates his voice, ha, I guess there's really no way to tell.
I finally got signed up for that prenatal yoga class. It starts in an hour and I so badly just want to stay home and lounge on the couch. Wahhhh.
I read your post about prenatal yoga a few days ago and started looking for one near me and fell asleep browsing for it...me thinks it's a bad sign for me to actually go to the classes, ha!

@wineandcupcakes & mustloveerica - My H is a surgeon so would give me an injection much easier (and quicker) than I would do it myself! Still impressed with you ladies with all the sticks you had to do.

I couldn't even think about it for the first like 14 weeks. Give yourself some time! I even tried living room yoga but all the bending down and then upright again made me really nauseous.

+1. First tri exhaustion is real. I had a couple energetic weeks from 16-20, and now I'm tired again but not as bad and I'm hoping mostly due to the cold.

I wouldn't say I had a second tri burst of energy. But I felt normal. Nothing compared to the complete and utter and tear inducing fatigue of first tri. Now I'm just large. And my body is hard to move around. And I don't sleep much. So I'm back to being exhausted most of the time.
hpnegirl and everyone else who's already taken the GTT for any pregnancy: How bad do you feel when you drink it? I've read accounts of people being light-headed and nauseous. I'm wondering if I can drink it at work and then go to my appointment, but I'll be at work for about 40 minutes after drinking it. Will I be functional or miserable?
It tasted like a slightly more sugary flat orange pop to me. I didn't have any issues/reaction with the drink.
I'd take normal these days happily. I have napped almost every day for two months and exercise?! You have to be kidding me! MH suggested taking the dogs for a walk yesterday and I fell asleep while he decided where we should go...

I kept waiting for the second tri burst of energy to kick in and it never happened, at 35 weeks I've just accepted I'm going to be exhausted this entire pregnancy. But I'm bad at being pregnant in general it seems
This has been me for both pregnancies. I have a 2ish week period in 2nd tri where I'm not as tired and then I'm back to being always tired. Also, zero sex drive, so I'm also really bad at being pregnant, it seems
I wouldn't say I found that burst of energy, but I did spend four hours cleaning my office on Saturday afternoon. I definitely wouldn't have done that during first tri.
Even though it's been 18 months (today, actually- it's been 18 months exactly) since we lost E, I continue to find myself surprised by new things that trigger me. One of the last things I did before my loss was sign up for that same prenatal yoga class. I took one class out of the 12 that I bought, and found out we lost him about three days later. We did a stretch tonight that was just a small twist, and all of a sudden I got really scared that I was hurting the baby. Then I remembered about having taken that class right before my loss, and I got super emotional. It was really hard not to cry through that whole class. I think I will continue to go back, but I just need to be a little bit more aware of what triggers me. Especially since the class focuses so much on bonding with the baby. I think I thought more about Emmett than Oliver tonight...

Both my kids had plenty of room and were still kicking right up until delivery. But I'm tall-ish (5'8") and have a long torso.
I did my own HCG shots for my IUIs but I don't remember how big the needles were. It was belly shots. My exH would have been useless at doing them.
I got real quick at the insulin injection in the car before work but those were tiny needles
akraus2015 I'm so sorry it was triggering for you. There's basically no position you can do that will hurt the baby aside from lying on your back for hours. I really liked yoga when I was pregnant with DS, so I hope you can work through your fears and grief and enjoy it.
Haha, because the Patriots won!!! With an almost 5-month old at home hopefully it's a bit before I go here again. I just like to hang out here sometimes.

Here's my opinion: if you can drink a soda, you can drink the orange drink. Honestly it's just a flat orange soda. I felt sick because of nerves but I could drink the drink anytime if I wasn't getting blood drawn.
