We painted DD's "big girl" room purple this weekend and are buying her bed/furniture tonight. I am so nervous about moving her into a twin bed (she's still in the crib) but I'm sure it'll be ok.
We started underwear with DD this weekend and she did pretty well (1 poop 2 pee accidents 7 successes Saturday, 1 poop 2 pee accidents 8 successes yesterday) but it was absolutely exhausting. I have never been so relieved to be at work in my life!

ThankfulSnail yah!! So many milestones! We've been doing the potty training thing with DD now since we came back from Christmas/new year travels. Good luck!

How's it been going, ourcrazynavylife? And remind me how old your DD is?
My DD has been peeing on the potty at least once a day for months and months, but only poops on the potty once a week at most, almost always at daycare. I'm worried we'll be one of those families that has a kid that's 6 and still won't poop on the potty (I realize that's a bit dramatic since she's 3 but it was a disappointing weekend with exactly 0 poop ending up where it was supposed to).

ourcrazynavylife, so you still do diapers for going out? We're trekking to the furniture store today and I've been stressing about whether or not to put a pull-up on her- if that'll make her regress from the last 3 days work or if I want to deal with taking her to the potty every 15 minutes at the store. I think I'm going to just have to put her in a pull up and hope for the best.

ThankfulSnail yea, we still put the dipe on for going out. We immediately take it off when we come home and try and make sure she goes potty before we leave. She doesn't really have an issue going back and forth. Sometimes she gets upset when we go out because she does t want to go in her diaper but she doesn't want to sit on the big potty when we're out.

Thanks, ourcrazynavylife, I feel a lot better about the stuff I want to do out of the house now, glad to hear she transitions well from one to the other.

Your potty training stories are giving me anxiety. Our ped was like "meh, if I were you, I'd wait until the baby comes," so we haven't done anything. Our guy has 0 interest and is super stubborn.
Also, found out I passed the three hour test!! Thank goodness. 😊

heisenberg yahhh!! For passing!! And lol pt'ing wasn't that bad. I think if he's not showing any interest you're totally fine waiting. I think the frustration comes when parents push them too early.

heisenberg, nothing wrong with waiting. I think I have one of the oldest big siblings on this board-DD is 3- plus she has been showing interest for a long time, she is just the kind of kid who needs some pushing to embrace change.
Yeah our guy will definitely dig his heels in if we push. We have books and mention it every now and then. I was sort of hoping daycare would do it. He listens to them better. 😂

We picked out DD's bedroom furniture last night! It'll get delivered on 2/19 and then we can finally start making the nursery into the baby's room. It feels so good to be finally making progress!
I started crying last night because DH won't drive me 4 hours away to have this baby where I had DS1, solely because I want my old OB to be the one that delivers DS2 and to have the day nurse I had.

So I got a bombshell dropped on me yesterday. Daycare for DD is closing for spring break the entire week before I'm due- I'm due 4/19 and they'll be closed 4/10-4/14. DH only has enough PTO to take his 2 weeks off after the baby comes and then a few days that daycare will be closed throughout the year. My only option would be to start my leave early, which if the baby comes late, could rob me of 2.5 weeks of my 12 week leave that I could otherwise be spending with my baby.
Our only viable option is for DD to spend the entire week with my ILs, which means I'll miss out on what will probably be the last week of time I get with her one-on-one. They live an hour away so it's not like I'll be able to see her at all during that week.
If I've already had the baby and DH and I are home, we'll keep DD with us, but we were so looking forward to spending that time bonding with baby and keeping things normal for DD, it's going to be so much harder with a 3-year-old running around.
Even worse, if I go early- like 36-37 weeks- I'll be spending my first week of DH being back at work having to take care of a 2-3 week old by myself as well as a 3-year-old.
I'm just feeling so blindsided and crushed by this whole situation.

Thanks, ourcrazynavylife. I don't think there's anything to be done, I just have to adjust my expectations and, well... I don't wanna, I liked our original plan.
How punctual was DD? I know second (and subsequent babies) tend to be a few days earlier than the first. Not a guarantee of course but maybe a good chance it will all blow over anyways? At least you do have a few options worked out even if they aren't all completely ideal.
Pretty sure this kid is sitting breech at the moment. Have a growth scan on Friday to see what is happening for sure. It's kind of stressing me out considering all the money I've sunk into chiro this time around, ha!

sympkin I'm pretty sure this baby is too. He was stretching out all the way across my stomach the other night and it was ridiculous. DD was breech until 36 weeks so not super surprised. Lol.

I've been told it's very common for second babies to swing in the opposite direction, almost to the exact number of days prior/after the EDD. Like, if you went three days late/early, you'll likely be about three days early/late this time around
