Thanks for the tag @boxerific! How are things going for you?
How are your big kids doing since last time? L is doing good on the meds for the most part. He is loosing weight and that is really the Dr's only concern. We have to buy a digital scale to keep track since he lost 1 lb in 2 weeks. Not sure what will happen if he continues to lose weight... we just have to really push the food.
Last weekend we had to rush him to the ER. We gave him a protein bar (to increase calories) and he has a severe allergic reaction. His face swelled, he was vomiting non stop, had hives all over his body, and had trouble swallowing and breathing. The first ingredient in the bar was cashews so that is the suspected culprit. Neither of our families has a history of any allergies and L grew out of his egg allergy a couple years ago so this was totally unexpected! Now we have the Epi-pen and an appt with an allergist fit more testing.
Do you do one on one "dates" with your big kid? If so, what do you do? I really want to start this soon. We used to but since S was born it's been a roller coaster and I haven't had the time.
Do you have an allowance system in your house? How do you structure it?
We have a system where if he reads 10 books we buy him one and once he gets to 100 he gets his own Kindle. We need to set up a chore chart and an allowance too.
What else is new?
I may get to start working from home soon which means L would get to ride the bus home and I can save money on after school care!!
Also, I had to sign L up for Summer camp last week. The registration had only been open a day and we got one of the last spots for the program done by the local YMCA.
