Long night for us. I was up with both kids at 4 am. Managed to get a few more hrs of sleep but I can already feel a headache coming on.
It's warm out but rainy. Only thing I have planned is baking butter cookies with Leo. I made good headway on organizing the kitchen yesterday. I found some fish cookie cutters we might try.
Lazy day at home -- sort of. I still have a mountain of laundry I'm trying to work through. I feel like the house is constantly a disaster because I don't have enough hands to deal with it and the baby that never wants to be put down. It drives me crazy even though it doesn't seem to bother anyone else.
It's warm and rainy here too. Need to go to the grocery but don't feel like taking kids out in rain. We're just hanging out today.
Have you tried click list? It's Smith's/Fry's/Kroger if you have one in your area and you order the groceries online and just go pick them up. They deliver them to your vehicle. The first three are free and then it's $4.95 a time. I've been using it a lot!

I want to get out and walk so bad. It's rainy here too. And there's work dumb work. But I'm getting excited about getting back into running. I use that word on the loosest sense, but I like doing 5ks and it gets me out. Can't wait for spring. I also need to nip this weight on the bud. I lost 40 lbs after Jane was born which was more than what I gained with her, but since my Grandma died and the trip we made and starting back at work I've not been doing good. I'll gain 5 lbs one week then lose it the next. And I'm addicted to snickers bars. I have to limit myself out get rid of those.
I need to start laundry and packing for our road trip tomorrow. But I can't get out of bed. Not sure why (last night was no different than others), but I'm exhausted and getting a headache.
I also need to run to the post office but my husband needs to get home first. Yesterday I met a friend for lunch with the baby, our first time out as a pair without someone else helping. My husband knew I was nervous so he helped me pack the bag, load the car, etc. But then the car wouldn't start. 🙄 We had to unload and put everything in his car instead. Need to figure that out because my car is bigger, so I want to take it in the road trip.

We do have grocery pick up at Meijer. I always forget!

Also, I went to Starbucks this morning and I was relaxing and enjoying a latte when the power went out! They made us all leave! I was a little annoyed.

I still like picking my own veggies, but when I don't want to go out it's so nice.

Also, some good news today. I think I found another daycare for Jane. It's been going ok the last couple of days with the old one, but there were 9 babies in there today and I just want a home daycare. My coworker that I also worked with at an old job has his boys at this home daycare and they have room for an infant. The only thing they ask is that I take her Monday through Friday so they can get her on a schedule. I think that would be good for me and her. Right now I keep her at home with me on days I work from home, but as I get busier and she gets older I won't be able to do that. So I'm going to call them today and if we like it I'm going to switch her in March.

Sorry to chat your heads off, but the daycare (new one we might go to) just asked that we stick to a Monday - Friday Schedule so they can get her into a schedule. That's a good sign right? I took it as that. I want it to go well for Jane and them too. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Not sure. I know when I looked at a center they wanted the kids to come FT, but my boys only go to our in home day care 1-2 days a week bc my mom watches them the other days. I'm sure it depends on the place. I do think that DS1 always had trouble napping there, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with him not being there everyday bc he naps fine at grandma DC.
I'm learning that I'm the Mom and what I say goes. Slowly, but that's how it's going to be. I'm also figuring it all out as I go. I just know now that I want her with a smaller group at this young age.
catherineoctober I think the home daycare sounds like a good option for you. Personally, I like the idea of full time since that's what we'll do, the routine will be helpful down the road. I'm glad you found something, you gotta be comfortable with the place you send your kids.
We had another good night. She went 5 hours between feedings last night(9-2), 4 of that sleeping. Dh has been given the bedtime routine responsibility with the exception of feeding. 2 good nights in a row, I think he's starting to buy what I'm selling.
Super rainy here today too, I want to try to tackle my closet and start putting away my maternity clothes. My pre-pregnancy jeans fit but the c-section pooch means they don't fit well. I'll probably keep the maternity jeans out until I can get exercising again.
If I'd known it was so flipping warm out, I'd have tried to take DS2 and baby for a walk this am. But alas, feeding, cleaning, etc. and now DS2 is napping. My friends daughter is going to come watch DS1 and 2 while I take D to his 2 month appointment this afternoon. DS1 would FREAK if he saw him getting the shots. After that, I'll have to grab a pizza or something for a quick dinner. Swim class with my big boys tonight. I feel terrible (for D) that I'll have to leave him with daddy when he's not feeling well after shots. I want to cry already thinking about him getting all those shots.

Do you need full time daycare? That would probably be my determining factor.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a positioning pillow to help prevent flat heads? I just ordered the Boppy Noggin Nest, but I want to try something else too
@requiressnakes oh MIL! But on the other hand, it was good you didn't have to bring them with you.
catherineoctober that's awesome news! We used a home daycare for the last almost 5 years and loved it. The only downfall is she didn't have a sub if she had to close, but I think that only happened twice in that time. One for illness and one for a death. I feel it's just more welcoming and accommodating than a center, not to mention usually cheaper. Hope it goes well. Oh and yes, it was a bit hard to work from home with a baby.

I think it's good. They want to make sure they know her and her routine. Do you have the same days working from home every week? At the current daycare, do you pay for just those days or FT? At our hole daycare, it was waaaayyy cheaper for me to pay FT there vs a daycare so it didn't even matter if I kept DS home when I wanted to. Lol. I wasn't able to keep him hold the same days every week though and he had to go M-F when I returned to work FT. I did PT at home for two months.

I need to go grocery shopping today too. I wish we had grocery pick-up here, but we only have different delivery services. I've tried InstaCart before because the first delivery was free, but I think if I was actually paying for it after the delivery fee, fee for the bags (there's a plastic bag ban in CA), and a tip for the delivery guy, it wouldn't be worth it. I've looked at Amazon Fresh, but the prices were much higher than I pay at my local store.
Other than that, DD1 has her preschool class today. We're switching her to three days a week next month, and she's really excited about that. It'll make it a bit easier on FI when I go back to work too. The recruiter for that one job I saw got back to me and said I'm not quite what they're looking for right now, so no going back to school for FI just yet. At least the recruiter said they might reconsider as their search progresses. It kind of sounded like they haven't gotten many applicants yet.

I do - I have a very loose schedule, but when we get busy I'll need her to be at daycare Monday through Friday from like 8-4. But, I'm taking advantage of my relaxed schedule right now and picking her up when I can. It's against the rules, but my boss works in California and I'm in Utah and I just take her home and log on from there when I don't have appointments. I also work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays so I just don't schedule things on those days. I just get other stuff done off the phone. It's pretty awesome.

lbonga1, That's nice to know! I hate when they never tell you anything and you just don't know where you stand. I'm going to be looking into certifications soon again as we get into a groove. I have a Master's but in order to be marketable and keep growing in my job I'm going to need at least one certification this year. I just haven't decided if I'll go the HR route and get my PHR or the SHRM version or do my Project Manager stuff.

I do have the same days each week, but I can move them around if I need to. Like next week my Mom will be here so I'm working from home Thursday and Friday instead of Wednesday and Friday. Also, I just did full time care. It was much easier. We got the rate of $758 a month and I thought that was reasonable for an infant. I'm hoping the home care is a bit less though, but we'll see.
catherineoctober, I'm working on my Masters right now. I have about 2 years left with going to school half time. I'm going to school for software engineering, and it's so hit-or-miss in the technology industry with what employers are looking for. Some just want to see that you know what you're doing, and others (mostly the big name companies like Google and Facebook) would prefer that you have a Masters or PHD. But definitely you have to keep up with learning constantly with how fast technology changes.

lbonga1, That is awesome. I want my little girl to be a coder or something. But we've decided not to push her into anything. I love hearing about women in that field. I chose HR and sometimes wonder why, but really my job right now is training clients (businesses) on how to use ADP's Workforce Now Benefits Modules. It's perfect for now, but I do wonder if I should just get into software engineering or something. My husband is an engineer and works in Security. He's lucky to have like 13 years experience in it because that's almost unheard of. He is constantly called by recruiters. He's pretty happy where he's at though and they are in the process of promoting him so he'll be a manager for the first time. Technology is where the money is at for sure. I think he makes 3 times what I make and I'm making pretty good money - more than I've ever made before....of course I have student loans like you wouldn't believe!
