I am up and pumping. S woke about the same time I did, mad. DH is in bed with her, not sure how that's going. She woke at around 1:15 to nurse which is good because that is about the latest she could nurse anyways.

I'm sitting in bed congested. Again......super pissed Oh and we got massive freezing rain last night, AGAIN. Damn winter, where is the snow? I have an estheticians appointment at 930, which I have to walk to, so that will be interesting. Apart from that it's a half day at daycare for Magoo, and coffee with a friend this afternoon. This friend has 2 young kids and doesn't get out too much, asked me if I was up for coffee this week which isn't out of the norm. I called her and said I know this is weird but you're pregnant. She replied "way to spoil my surprise!!" Hahahah I'm a witch. I KNEW! I woke up and just knew. I'm happy for her but my uterus is now screaming to be in the same state. I need to talk to Dh about this, we always said one and done but now I'm not sure. I'm even ok with not right now, but would like to know if it's on the table and set a time frame. My stream of consciousness this morning.....lol

Morning!
Low key day again here with a sick babe. We have a few errands, but that's it. I'm watching This is Us while he's napping (after only being up 40 minutes... poor buddy).
swivelchair5, I do a toy rotation now. I keep out ~10 toys, then switch them weekly or so. It will keep the toys "fresh and exciting" for longer and scale down on the baby-takeover. I feel like it also helps with his attention span when there's not 1,000 different options to move between. SO. MUCH. STUFF!
We are home. Surgery went well but she was very upset when she got back to the room. She passed out in the car and I'm hoping after a nice long nap she wakes up in a good mood.
Morning! I have a massive headache today. Ugh I feel like I could go sleep for 20 hours. I did have some breakfast, Tylenol, and some caffeine though and that seems to be helping, fingers crossed. DD woke at 5:30 and took her awhile to fall back asleep. It was 6:30 when she finally conked out, at which time I needed to start getting ready for work. I tried to lay her down in bed and she woke right up and got mad, so she just had to get up at that point. She was grumpy, maybe next time she'll realize she's better off staying in bed. Pfff, yeah right.

Morning! DD is in daycare today, so we took DS to Walmart to get his 1 year photos taken. We got some reallly cute shots, now I can complete his frame! We ordered some prints, as well as a canvas of our favourite photo. I can't wait for them to show up. It'll be about 2-3 weeks though.
My voice is slowly coming back, and I work tonight. I can't really call out again. So I'll be going for a nap shortly as DS fell asleep in the car on the way home, and went right into his crib.

My sister is 37 weeks pregnant. At her doctor's appointment today, she was 4 cm dilated. She got sent home. Anybody have any experience/knowledge of how dilated she needs to be to get sent to L&D instead? 4 cm seems like a lot, but I don't know. I didn't have my baby that way.

It's been a while now (ha) but I want to say the rule here was water broken or contractions every 5 minutes. I don't remember my doc caring at all about dilation. They don't even check unless you want them to.

Some folks can walk around that dilated for weeks I think. If the doc's not concerned, I wouldn't be.

I sat at three cm for several weeks this time. The first time I was contracting every 4 min but water was still intact and only at 2 cm and they said they were only keeping me due to BP issues. Hopefully she'll progress quicker when the main event happens!

This has been my friend's case, twice actually. She was sent home but the dr said he expected to see her back soon, and both she did go into labor like that day or the next day. Her water broke on its own. She did go home and walk on the treadmill and clean floors and stuff to try to kick it all into gear!

Thanks everybody. My sister is having contractions, according to the stress test monitor, but she hasn't felt any of them since over the weekend when she went to L&D and got sent home (she was only 2 cm then). Hopefully my new niece is here in the next few days.

L has an ultrasound booked next Friday. It's supposed to last 1 - 1.5 hours after not eating or nursing for the two hours prior. What kind of magic are they going to use to have him sit still that long?

I'd say she could go a few more days possibly. cervix dilation can change a bit too, so saying 4cm doesn't mean she'll stay that way or that it's really any indication of when. I wish her a fast and easy delivery regardless!!

I was 4cm for 2 or 3 weeks with S. Once she's in active labor they would keep her.

Are they going to sedate him? I don't see why they would prohibit him from eating before for any other reason.

I figured it might be a visibility thing since he can have water or juice but not milk or solid food if they will be looking around his abdomen. I wonder now, though...
Married sex: fine, but I hope you don't mind the granny panties - it's laundry day. And can you crank up the heat first?
Married sex with kids: okay, he's asleep. Should we do this? Just be quiet. And I'm not taking off my slippers. Let's just get this done so I can go stuff my face with ice cream. We gotta catch up on the Walking Dead, remember?

It might be a conscious type of sedations. So he's not completely out but calm maybe?
