I managed to avoid the death plague that has been going around my school and my house for the past two weeks, until last night. I went from fine to miserable in the matter of about five hours.
Of course I would get sick on the day that I have to hold a public lottery for all four of our schools. This should be fun!
The snow hasn't started here yet so I am at work. I'm hoping I get to go home early. I am kind of looking forward to it, especially since H is well enough to shovel.
Our floors are done and the furniture is all back in place, hooray! We still have to unpack the few boxes of delicate stuff, put our closet back together, and get done stuff from the other closet we stored there, but it's so nice to have our home back to normal.
Let's talk about our weekends, so we can pretend it's almost here! What does everyone have going on this weekend??
I have our (rescheduled) work holiday party tomorrow night, a yoga/shopping/mimosas event at a local clothing boutique Saturday morning, then a baby shower, then a sips-n-splatters birthday party Saturday night. I have to read at Mass on Sunday and then lots of boring errands Sunday afternoon.
I'm hoping this flu bug goes away quickly so I can enjoy my weekend!
We've watched Storks and are now on to Angry Birds...
I got DS new sippy cups to try (they look more like water bottles because he's constantly trying to steal ours)... the plus side is he's drinking a lot more liquids. The downside is he's flooding his diapers, therefore leaking, within an hour of being changed. Wouldn't be awful if he didn't hate diaper changes so freaking much (has since birth... you'd think two years of diapers would have gotten that out of him..)
I woke up with gunk all over my eyes and thought maybe I contacted pink eye some how. But I don't seem to have other symptoms. I wonder if my eye makeup remover went bad. That's what I used right before bed that could've irritated them like this.
Sucks I have to go into work looking like this though.

My legs are sore today so I'll need to pull out some compression after yoga/gym today. I got some free shoes at work last night, but I'm having such a hard time with my running shoes. I tried them out on a run and they didn't feel too good so I'll have to wait til the baby is out to really try them out. I have like 5 shoes in my rotation and none of them feel that great. Sigh. But yay for free shoes! We used to get free ones all the time until we got bought a couple years ago...now we are lucky to get 2 pairs a year.
Re: weekend. My biweekly chiro app is tomorrow afternoon followed by the biweekly Sam's run. Other than that, I may finally finish decorating the nursery. Maybe..
I am seriously excited for this weekend because I am buying nursery furniture / assembling nursery furniture. We will probably order a custom black out blind, as well as finally order a blackout blind for our giant master bedroom window!! Four years of way too much light in there!
I am also going to get new work flats so I can throw out my toxic waste shoes that are making my feet smell (full disclosure they are over 5 years old...)

Ugh, sounds frustrating. You guys use cloth, right? What do you do when they start wetting through? Add more inserts?

This happens to me sometimes if I don't get all of my mascara off. Frustrating, but hopefully it goes away throughout the day.

What kind of flats are you getting? Do you have a specific kind that you love?
easilyunamused this may seem like a weird question but has your allergies or congestion flared?
If so, it's possible that that is what was on your eyes...
No, my allergies seem fine. And I was completely fine al day yesterday too. I just woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't open my eyes. I'm hoping it just resolves itself today.
I don't really have big plans for the weekend but am really hoping H will get the flooring patched in the nursery/guest room so that we can have it sanded and refinished next week before the ILs arrive Friday. ILs bought us a crib and it's getting delivered Monday so it would be nice if we can have it assembled and in place when they come. Oh and have a decent place for them to sleep. Actually, that is sounding more and more unlikely. Sigh.

I work on Saturday and then we have a date night that night, but we aren't sure what we are doing yet. We will probably go out to eat somewhere or something.
Otherwise, I'm going to clean out my closet and dresser and put away clothes that I can no longer wear, which is like 80% of my closet. I also have to clear out the guest room closet. Oh fun.
