My cervix has been long and hard and poky the last few days and has been causing me pain to sit down. I had to google to make sure it was normal and it wasn't a prolapsed uterus. I also was convinced i had a tumor.

I'm supposed to go meet up with friends tonight in the city after DD's bedtime. I don't want to go out in the cold, staying in with DH and ordering pizza sounds better. I may lie and say DD is sick to get out of it.
This was quite the departure for me. Normally I just stick with knee high boots at this time of the year but I trying to become a little hipper. I am too young to dress like an old lady!
Knee high boots with skinnies are for old ladies...? Guilty.
I'm just seeing more and more of the "older" ladies in my small rural city wearing them pretty much every day. And then yesterday I saw a 50 year old who was beyond gorgeous and a million times more stylish than me and it made me saaaaad.
I love knee high boots with my skinnies, they keep my feet dry in the winter, they look good and are practical.
I think I am just suffering with the personal frumps right now.
You are a million times cuter and more stylish than me, wear your boots and rock them.

Have done this. Actually did it last week and the week before. I feel a bit bad
We have plans to meet my dad and his wife for lunch tomorrow. DS is sick but unless he gets worse, I'm not cancelling. His fever is around 100 and he has a cough but it's just a virus and he's acting like his normal self so he obviously doesn't feel that bad. And it's not like I'm going to let him run around in the snow.
(For you Americans, in Ontario our province created a random holiday a few years back in February called Family Day, the third Monday of the month is a stat holiday)
We're going to take O to Toronto for the weekend, we've booked a great hotel downtown which has an awesome family pool with a slide, and we're either going to go to the Science Centre or the Aquarium. I can't wait!
Because we live in such a rural area we've never really done this with her before. We've gone on family hikes, and to a semi-nearby small rural zoo, some dinky play places. But there's really no decent amenities nearby for kids.
Anyhow, I can't wait. She's going to lose her little mind.

Aw so fun! I never really do anything special with Peyton on that day as I never usually have extra money.
I am going to try to go somewhere fun this year. Will need to see what is open in my city.
kittyriot Just some info- I have heard wonderful things about the aquarium but some friends did say that they went through in about 45 minutes. The Science Centre is for sure nearly all day type of activity.
Just so you can pick how you want to go and what you are looking for.
emmagk, yup, our regions share a ton of similarities, be grateful you have an H&M in your city, I think our populations are basically the same but we've got dick all, well we have a Cleo/Rickis/Reitmans/Winners....and we're done!
I am so looking forward to being able to do something with my kid that's indoors, age appropriate and exciting!
And footloose, I hear ya, the H was balking at the trip because of the cost. Hotwire just dropped the price on the hotel I was pretty sure was the Chelsea, it was $69 a night. So he finally agreed.

I think indoors, age appropriate and exciting is what I'm most looking forward to when we move, if DS and I ever get to move :-( H leaves next Sunday
