Morning ladies! DS1 is at my in laws this weekend since my husband had back to back coaching Friday and Saturday. Oh my goodness. You forget what it is like to have one. Don't get me wrong- when it was just DS1 as a baby it was HARD (getting used to being a mom plus he was just a high maintenance baby). But this little guy is so chill - it has been like a vacation to just have him!
sophiegrace - how is M feeling? Don't beat yourself up. Illness is literally everywhere in the winter and sometimes just unavoidable. You are an awesome mama.
AFM - going to brunch with DS2 and some friends later. Also I bought a kick ass vintage chandelier off Craigslist for our dining room and have been cleaning/restoring it. Might finish it today!

It's DH's birthday today. He joins me at the being 31 table. Also, Lilah is 3 months old!! I'll have to measure her today for the 3 month check in and her baby book later.
Going to do something outside, picnic burrito lunch, and then dinner out tonight. Should be a fun day!
Yay weekend!! MIL was bored so she asked if she could come over to babysit and maybe give me and DH some time to run errands. We ended up just staying home and cleaning, which was AMAZING!! I got everything cleaned that I wanted to and was able to prep some things for the week! Just need to make brownies to bring to lunch at MIL's tomorrow. Plan to have some wine while baking!

Hi ladies! We had a good time last night. Bar hopping downtown then ended the night at a karaokee bar. We didn't leave until 1 am and didn't get to bed until 2. I haven't done that in a long time!! I can tell that I'm old though because I'm exhausted today.
We were planning on picking up C and heading to a birthday party but we were running late and C got hungry right before we were going to leave. It just didn't make sense to show up that late. But it was probably a good thing we didn't go because C might be getting sick. One of my friends found out that her son has RSV. He was at the Superbowl party so she let us all know. 6 days later, C is developing a cough. No fever though so hopefully it passes without an issue.
I'm jealous of the clean house tjanca22. I've been able to stay on top of things but I'm afraid of what my house is going to look like when I go back to work.
We had a crazy day. A birthday party in the morning, home for DS's naptime, then out again to another birthday party, then to our local Chinese place to see friends who are in town.
It was a bit much for D, who fights naps in the best of circumstances. She's currently upstairs screaming her head off because I've had enough of going up there to rock her only to have her wake up a minute later. I know she's overtired and I feel bad but I can't spend the entire night rocking her to sleep.
We had a quiet day up until a few minutes ago. My mom just called to tell me that my dad was having chest pains and is in the hospital. They are running tests now but he seems to be doing well. I guess I'm not sleeping well tonight.
Ugh snow! I was in an area that got 15"!?! We're also due to get more between tomorrow and Monday, hopefully I'll be able to pick up my mom tomorrow afternoon! Boy dog had two cracked molars, so they had to be removed yesterday! I thought he seemed off, but I just attributed it to the baby and I should've known better so I kind of feel like a crappy dog mom! He's my bubba bear and I feel like I missed him being in pain. So that's been my Friday and Saturday! I will catch up now.
One handed with a gassy fussy baby who didn't sleep more than 1 HR stretches last night, will come back to tag. But just wanted to say buckyb I hope everything comes back normal!!
buckyb, I'm sorry, that is very scary!I'll be keeping your family in my thoughts! dashook, your situation with D last night is why I dread going anywhere with L. One trip to the store, restaurant, etc. he's fine! Those days where it's in and out of the car messes with his sleep (and mine) for a few days! I hope you got some sleep! vinolove, you bachelor? GKU does a Monday night play-by-play! But if you can't do Monday night, no worries because lots of girls catch-up and do there own live blogging! danib, I'm sorry you're mad and tired, why we're the kids up all night? Sleepover shenanigans?
Morning! My dad is doing well this morning. He's obviously tired but hasn't had any more chest pain since he was admitted and initial tests show no heart damage. He'll see the cardiologist later this morning. This is the time it stinks living 4 hours away. I wish I could return the favor and be there for my mom. Thankfully they have a lot of other family in the area so she has good support.
We are going to the zoo later this morning. I'm starting to get a little stir crazy so I'm looking forward to getting out of the house.

DH let me sleep in until 8:30!! Yay sleep! Unfortunately, I'm still freaking sick. What?? I'm over this. I thought I was getting better finally.
In other news, we had a really nice day for DH's birthday yesterday. Lillian did a great job playing mini-golf for a 2 year old. Lol. We all had a good time. We also had Indian for dinner and apple pie for dessert. Today we are mostly just relaxing. Tonight we are having dinner with my dad.
buckyb glad to hear the good news about your dad. That has always been the hardest thing about living away from family. The every day help would be nice, but not being close by during scary ties is so much harder to cope with.
buckyb glad for a good update, keep us posted. I know how hard it is to be far from family and how it can weigh on your mind. Hopefully everything is fine.
H and I took the kids to Bass Pro Shop to show DS the fish and turtles and have lunch. It was fun but the weather has gotten bad so we're currently making our way home verrrry slowly. DS hasn't napped yet and it's almost 3:00 😕
Thankfully D is snoozing. Hoping for a much better night tonight.
waitwhat if it's the same cordless Dyson that I have, I wish you happy vacuuming. I vacuum so much more often now that I can just grab it quickly. We store it right off the kitchen for easy access. We had been using our central vac and lugging the huge long, heavy tube and upright thing from the basement every time I wanted to use it. It was a PITA.
Holy hell. J was inconsolable for a moment there. Just crying and crying. Nothing was helping. Tried the boob, tried the paci, tried adding a layer, tried bouncing. Nothing. I finally took him upstairs to his room where we are currently rocking in be glider listening to white noise. He sucked on my pinky finger and fell asleep. Poor kid was so overtired and fighting it. Two days of running errands has finally caught up to him. I pray I can transfer to his crib without any problem then I'm going to chug a glass of wine. I'm sweating. And thirsty.
Yikes! Sounds like you've earned that wine! I hope he gets some sleep. Overtired babies are so sad.
We just went out for valentines dinner as a family. Food was marvellous, wine delicious, and kids were a dream! And I forgot to pack anything for O to play with; we had only 1 car in our pockets. We walked there pulling O in a sled so got some good exercise and fresh air too!

So we're attempting the first night of no swaddling. He is sleeping now but we'll see how long it lasts. After reading the posts the other day about sleep regression, I noticed that C had been waking up exactly 45 minutes after he initially falls asleep. But once I get him down again, he's good for the night. All week he was sleeping 9-10 hours straight but last night he woke up at 3 for a bottle. I'm fine with that though since I know we're really lucky. It just seems like most of his fussing over night is him trying to break out of the swaddle so I'm wondering what he'll do with his arms free. It might be a disaster lol.
Quick update - my dad was discharged this evening. His heart looks good and they think his pain was from other ailments. I think this finally is going to be a push for him to try and quit smoking again.
Pretty typical Sunday otherwise...zoo, cleaning, Target, etc.

goldenlove3 We broke the swaddle in steps. She did really well with one arm out, a little shaky with both out, and then we had a hard time for a couple of nights without it. It took a few days, but she's been great without it for over a month now. Don't give up! He'll get there.
buckyb Great news! Glad to hear they don't think it was heart related.

Well C reminded me that he's not feeling good when he started coughing and woke himself up. I put him back in the swaddle for now. Probably not the best time to try something new. He's having a harder time falling asleep tonight than he has in a long time.
ClassyMrsA I definitely need to ween him out of it one arm at a time. I don't know why I jumped right to the sleep sack.
