What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? We rearranged the rooms in our house and now the nursery is cleaned out!!! We picked out paint colors and are painting this week. We also have the furniture picked out and will be ordering everything next week except the rocker/comfy chair. Any suggestions of what you love?
GTKY: what's your typical Friday or Saturday night like? Is it relaxed or are you always busy? Super chill, usually just order in or eat out and then legit Netflix and chill. Sometimes we dongame nights and such.
cateyes Touching is not okay. Ever. I can't believe it's even a thing that needs to be stated.
I agree completely! Like you wouldn't go up and touch other people for no reason, don't touch me. And people have started "yelling" at my belly to talk to baby. All of this just weirds me out.
How far along are you? 24 weeks today! I've hit viability.

Any new symptoms or changes? ive been feeling really normal these days. its so nice. we all deserve to feel normal for a bit after the crazy changes our bodies have been going through.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Im enjoying feeling movement finally even if its kind of muted. ive forgotten how comforting it is. Also NBR but DHs traveling for this project should be over this Saturday. I am so thankful we all get a break from him being away, but nervous for what his next project will entail. Trying to figure out if I can do something for him for Valentines Day at his hotel
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Getting long lists together of stuff that we need even though we should have most of it. Ordering nursery furniture on Wednesday finally. will probably spend way too much at babies r us since I have the day off and will be by myself!
GTKY: what's your typical Friday or Saturday night like? Im so tired by Friday night I usually pick up pizza on the way home and in bed by 10. Same goes for Saturday. We're lame.

I'm with eucalyptus - Why does this have to be stated?
I hate how all the general rules of politeness and how to interact with other people go out the window with pregnancy, and then with parenting.
I already warned H I will full-on slap any hand which come toward my belly. Only people allowed to touch without asking is H, my family, and my closest friends. Other friends have to ask and will be given permission. Strangers get nothing.
The yelling at your belly is... strange. I haven't seen that yet, but I'm still hiding the bump in public until next week.
I had a friends mom come up and try to rub my non existent belly with DS. I made a comment to our old neighbors about it and they had some shirts made for me. "Sure you can touch my belly, if I can punch you in the face" If you didn't put it here, you can't touch it" "I'm pregnant not furry, don't pet me." Thankfully no one else ever tried to touch my belly. (I did allow some of my best girl friends get a picture with me if them all touching my belly at my shower.) I was also that weirdo that didn't allow my picture/ belly to be posted in Facebook. I figured if you wanted to see my belly then you needed to visit me in person.

That's generous. I exclude family and close friends from my list of people allowed to touch. DH and DS are the list. Or anyone I say it's ok to on my own terms.

I'm fairly touchy with close friends and very much with my family (by that I mean parents, sisters, and one grandmother, no one else).
What's new with baby (size, development)? Large mango
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope, none till next week
Any new symptoms or changes? My rings are getting really tight, which makes me sad! Rants/raves/questions? I can't recall anyone ever trying to touch my belly in any of my pregnancies. Maybe I put off some kind of "don't touch me" vibe?
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? More childcare stuff today. I went this morning to look at both nearby daycare centers that each still had one infant opening for September - one of them I had also looked at 5 years ago when I was pregnant with DD. I ended up putting a deposit down on one. So the plan for now is to send baby to the center from mid-Sept. through the end of January. Then at the beginning of Feb. I can move baby to the small licensed in-home daycare that is like a 3-minute walk from my house, since that's when she has an opening. Best case scenario, one of her current families has a change of situation and she has a spot when I go back to work, but at least now we have a plan for when I do need to return to work. And compared to the cost of a full-time nanny, which we were considering, we now have a lot more financial flexibility to hire help in the mornings and evenings so we don't have to do all 3 drop-offs and pick-ups everyday. A babysitter can walk to get DD at kindergarten aftercare and the baby at the in-home and that makes things a lot easier for us.
GTKY: what's your typical Friday or Saturday night like? Is it relaxed or are you always busy? We have a babysitter every other Friday night, so we either go to dinner and/or a movie or get together with friends. Once a month I have a mom's night out on a Saturday. Otherwise we are usually home on the couch
Ovia is on to me. Apparently this belly rubbing is a thing that people need to stop doing! My tip of the day
When I saw that, I wondered why it had to be politely declined... It's so rude to assume that your touch is wanted that I am not sure niceties are necessary.

Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl!
Any upcoming appointments this week? Just a checkup tomorrow.
Any new symptoms or changes? Heartburn has begun. I have almost gained back the weight I lost from morning sickness and the two rounds of GI bug. Rants/raves/questions? DS likes to bounce on my belly. It is getting uncomfortable. He does still like to snuggle my belly and say "sissy" or try to say baby's name. It is pretty cute.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Searching for double strollers on the local OfferUp. I bought my single BOB on there and am quite happy with it.
GTKY: what's your typical Friday or Saturday night like? Is it relaxed or are you always busy? Fridays tend to be busy due to DH's work meetings, Saturdays are often relaxed. This weekend I'm singing in a few concerts, so I have dress rehearsal Friday and concerts Saturday and Sunday.

Rants/Raves/Questions?
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Telling my boss tomorrow at my annual review! I'm only the second person in our office to get pregnant (last was years ago), so it will be interesting.
GTKY: what's your typical Friday or Saturday night like? Is it relaxed or are you always busy? We don't really have a typical anything with my H's schedule and just city life in general. Some weekend nights are quiet at home, binging on shows. Others are game nights with friends. Some we go out with friends to dinner. Or see a show. It really varies, which I like.

Exciting! Do they have any idea you are pregnant? I feel like I'm a house and in 'blatantly a pregnant woman' territory. I get big though. Nobody was really surprised when I announced at 13 weeks, LOL.

My boss has no idea. I'm a consultant and don't actually work with my boss on my client work (he's the head of our local office and doesn't do client work). I've seen him three times since getting pregnant and wasn't showing yet, or like last week I was hiding it well.
Only one of coworkers knows purposely (she's one of my closest friends) and she would never tell. I don't think anyone else suspects, but it's hard to tell. There's been no comments.

I'm almost positive he will be thrilled. Our office is really close in general, and I'm now one of the "older" employees (been here over 4 years and we've more than doubled in size since I joined). He and his wife have the same wedding anniversary and me and H, and every year we text each other. It's a very unique boss-employee relationship and I'm so grateful for it.

Wow I want your boss! My boss was super supportive of my pregnancy but as a boss he kind of sucks as a leader.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? i'm on hold until our upstairs floors get redone in a couple weeks! i did start a to do list that is already giving me anxiety (wash/sort baby clothes, make freezer meals, sterilize old bottles, etc.)
GTKY: what's your typical Friday or Saturday night like? Is it relaxed or are you always busy? Pretty relaxed. We don't get out much since having a baby, but that's okay with me most of the time.
sdlaura - Thanks for asking! It went well! I made a joke about being 5 months into a project which will be done in 4 and I'll need time off after and he figured it out. He was excited. He did almost immediately want to start talking about where my project will be in June and handling my role, etc, which made me a little annoyed, but whatever.
