If I thought my sibling was having a medical emergency, I would have texted my mom to go check on him asap and miss the play. His reaction seemed more intense than the situation called for
It's been 12 hours since I watched it and I still can't get sobbing over-stressed teenage Randall out of my head. That poor kid. I snuggled my kids so tight when they got up this morning .

Honestly, that really got me too. I had so much school anxiety about not being the best, and it hurts my heart to see kids go through that
I really enjoyed this episode. I thought for a slight second we might get to find out what happens to Jack but I knew they wouldn't follow through.
I think what Kevin did was great for Randall. If he knew his brother had previous mental breakdowns and that these were the signs I'd think he was an asshole for brushing those signs off and acting like nothing was happening. Randall called Kevin for a reason.
Maybe Randall had a suicide attempt in the past and that phone call scared Kevin
Interesting theory! I wondered why he knew to run to him like that, especially since he seemed to care less about Randall when they were kids. I know Kevin's character is growing & changing but that seemed like a stretch that he would all of a sudden be so aware of what his brother needed (without some sort of context like a possible suicide attempt in the past like you said).
This is why I'm not sure Kevin thought Randall was possibly suicidal. I think Kevin knew about Randall's previous breakdown. On the phone Randall was almost incoherent and messing up words. I think Kevin knew Randall was breaking down again. Like more medical emergency than suicide.

Yea I think I'm torn on this, I guess I've read teenage Kevin as way too self absorbed to have even thought twice about Randall when they were teens. So to me, it wouldn't have made sense for him to all of a sudden care & recognize the signs. But maybe?
I think what really got him to go to Randall was his talk with Miguel. What would Jack do? Be more like Jack, in the flash back Jack stopped the "talk" with Kevin to calm Randall down. I feel he took Miguel's words to heart & channeled his inner Jack.
