I'm drinking coffee out of my mario cup.
I miss beer so much. I'm glad that this will be an early summer baby so I'll be able to drink during the hottest months of summer. I think I would have to move to a cooler region if this were a July/August baby.
I'm visiting my grandmother this weekend and we will go see my grandfather who she just placed in a facility before Christmas. He has Alzheimers. My sisters and I are all very close to these grandparents. But I don't live close anymore (they're in FL, I'm in IL).
I'm torn on whether or not to take any photos of us together at the facility. I have a fair amount of pics over the years, but I read about people who regret not taking some near the end of their loved one's life. He's currently still active and can do most things himself and remembers us off and on, so nothing gruesome or depressing would be captured in a photo.
Anyone been in a similar situation? Thoughts? Regrets if you didn't take pics?
marshian I'd take the pictures. I don't remember getting any pictures of my grandfather that had the same condition before he passed and I wish I did. I was very close to him and he died when I was still in high school, so my mom made the executive decision for my siblings and me that we would "remember him how he was" instead of ailing.
But I just wish I had that one more picture. I want to remember his whole life, not just the parts that he was "healthy".

Basically, go and if you think you might regret not taking those pictures for a second in the future, take the pictures. Don't open yourself to possible regret. They can always be deleted if you hate them.
ugaqueencity Scary! I have a personal history of hypertension, so I'm worried about these things. I'm glad you were able to bring it back down, glad you're planning to take the day to relax!

marshian +1 to Rama. I would take the pictures. I wish I took more pics of my grandfather before he passed. He didn't have Alzheimers, but he was quickly deteriorating from cancer the last time I saw him.
I'm here. After getting tunnel vision and my blood pressure sky rocketing last night, I spent a couple hours in L&D. They finally got my blood pressure down and sent me home, but it made everything very real and I'm now trying not to panic about everything I need to do in these last couple of weeks. I'm taking the puppy to the groomer and we have our car seat safety check this morning, but I've cancelled the rest of my errands and am just going to try to take it easy
Glad all is well! Sorry your blood pressure is doing that to you!
Oh yeah. I don't miss alcohol much at all. Yet. I'm basically a teetotaler, so it's not that big a change for me. I'll miss it for the 4th of July, though. We usually set off fireworks and have some Mike's, neither of which will happen since we have a fireworks ban that starts this year.

I would take all of the pictures. We have pictures of my grandfather near the end holding the first great grand baby and even though he looks weak and has oxygen, I'm so happy these photos exist. When M gets here, we will make sure to have plenty of 4 generation photos with my grandmother so she has those memories.

Morning! Potty training DD for the last week and a half has made me really, really, REALLY miss unwinding with a glass of wine at the end of the night. I've already had my max allowable amount of coffee for the day so it's just water in my cup now. Yippee.

marshian, take the pictures. Not the same situation, but my pictures of me & my mom 3 months before she passed with her chemo-shaved head are some of my favorites of us together.
Uncooperative fetus of the year, over here. Stinker is breeched, weighs an approximate 3lbs 2oz, and refused to move his hands from his face the whole time or to let the tech look at his stomach. Sigh. My children are stubborn
@xamountofwords - That's miserable. Hope the meds help. The few times I've had a stomach thing I've burst the vessels around and in my eyes. Super glad I'm a lucky one and only vomited twice this pregnancy so far.

People are awesome. One of the childcare workers at my gym is going to give me all of her pocket cloth diapers. I'm not sure how many or what brand but I am excited!! DS is nowhere near potty trained so I know I'll have 2 in diapers for awhile.

I miss wine, but not as much as I thought I would. I had some champagne at the wedding I was at on Monday, and it was a tease. They had non alcoholic champagne there too, since the bride is pregnant. It was actually good! Had that brut taste.
I'm barely up. My dog keeps walking me up in the middle of the night. MH is adamant about keeping him in our room, but I'm too light of a sleeper to keep doing this.

Jealous! No one I know has CD, so no throwbacks my way.
