Driving after dark is becoming very difficult for me, and tonight I was in an unfamiliar neighborhood and it was stressful. I'm having wine and looking up optometrists.
I have a blue tint/film on my glasses that really help with headlight glare and halos I get while driving at night

ohhhhhh does it have the knob as a gear shift? I had a 300 as a rental and it had a knob. SO put me in neutral instead of turning the volume down once.
Yes, which I dislike but the pros far outweigh the cons. I've been driving a standard 2015 200 for work for awhile so I'm pretty used to it now.

Oh, I'm going to ask my optometrist about this next time I go. I hate driving at night because I don't feel like I see that great either.
Rain + dark = I will only drive if it's 100% a necessity
So... night blindness, eh? Please tell me more. Would this be tested as part of a normal optometry visit?
My dad was on watch for it d/t gastric bypass, and I keep an eye out for it due to being largely vegetarian (it can be exacerbated by zinc deficiency). If you have symptoms of astigmatism or cataracts, definitely ask your optometrist. It can be detected during a routine eye exam but you probably should ask them to specifically check for it.
My white privilege didn't get that asking where a person is from could come across as threatening. I don't do it (unless I'm at an international conference or something) because it's just rude.
Meanwhile at my work... stranger: where are you from valie: oh, I'm from here. stranger: where abouts? valie: here. like, you could walk to the hospital where I was born.
