But why is it always kids? H and I knew one of the start to finish surgeries was going to go bad. But it didn't have to be the kid.
And Minnick is quick to teach all the surgery stuff but let's run away when the hard stuff comes along. You don't get to chose. I'm glad she went to see Weber.

I don't like the whole attempted sabotage of the new hire/training plan. You are all adult humans who have a job that comes with a boss. Who is in charge of you at your place of work. Unless your boss is instructing you to act unethically, you grumble to your friends and get with the program.
And if your boss is asking you to be unethical there are proper channels for that, too.
This entire show eats crackers for me at this point. I thought Jackson was 100% on point when he said April thought the cause was worthy until she benefitted from the situation.
Karev is off in make believe land with Grey's kids apparently. Everyone is being annoying. And I hated the whole situation with the kid. It makes me not want to watch the show bc I can't deal with all the trigger-y crap.

I think this is why I am so mad about it. She didn't take that job because she had to do it to support her family or whatever it benefited her and put her in charge which she likes.

I think Shonda made a mistake with the whole Minnick storyline. It is not engaging, compelling and Minnick is just not likeable. I hope this wraps up quickly. THe only thing positive to come out of it is to see the loyalty towards Richard.
I do not like how Bailey is changing, being chief is not a good look for her this far. SHe is such a great character, but not since becoming chief, I much preferred Owen as chief.
Speaking of Owen, I love him. I am so so pissed they threw him into another marriage with another person that does not want kids. I cannot stand Amelia, hope she never leaves Edward's apartment.
Maggie has no storyline. Give her something or have her move to Hawaii so she can care for her mother. Riggs needs a storyline. Meredith needs a storyline. Everyone needs a storyline.
I did not binge watch 266 episodes of this show over two months (yeah, that's right)for this nonsense.
As much as I hate that a kid died (and I don't understand why Shonda hates kids), I did (not like, but there is not better word) like that it was Edwards that had it not go well. She is so damn cocky and while some of that is good, she also needs to learn the bad. Otherwise, you get to be like Minick who is an attending and never lost a kid.
Plus, I also liked that Warren called out Webber and Bailey and that, while he didn't outright say it at the end when she asked which side he was on, he basically told her not hers by walking away and also made her see that she's not the only one stuck in the middle of it. It's not all about her.
Yes. It took me a while to warm to Warren and I really like him know. He has become an interesting character that has a lot of layers now.
I didn't really like having an episode with zero Alex or Mer. Didn't miss Owen or Amelia at all. I am so over the Minnick storyline and I did not like seeing Arizona soften towards her. I do not want them to date.
I was thinking that too, I'm going to be pissed if they start dating.
Arizona does not need to date everyone!
Pretty sure that is the route I saw they were going

Get it, April.
Where does the board fall in all of this? Like 50% of the attendings own the hospital now, right? Or did I forget something happening that changed that? In which case, why not overrule Bailey on the basis of, we fucking own this place?

The Avery Foundation purchased the largest stake and Catherine Avery was behind the change.

I agree. I liked her relationship with Callie because they had really good chemistry and good writing. I never looked at them as a same sex couple for the sake of having one but I feel like when they bring these other love interests on for her it comes across that way no chemistry. Let's just see her live and work for a while then maybe let her find someone maybe a non doctor for a change. Also does it bother anyone else that she lost her leg and the story line kind of went away. I feel like it is no longer a thing but just something that was forgotten.
I am in the minority but I don't blame April - the fact is Grey was suspended and a chief is needed, for the good of the hospital. She was offered the position (didn't seek it out) and she accepted, I don't think that refusing to accept, and leaving the hospital without a chief or with a less qualified chief, fits with 'do no harm'.
Going along with that, everyone fighting the Minnick thing and refusing to go along with the program, feels the same way to me. I get and support loyalty to Webber, but if the current program wasn't working then it's not in the hospital/patients' best interest to not try to change/improve. Though I thought that the way Webber helped Edwards at the end did show he can teach and train.
+ however many to enough with the kids, Shonda. It's almost enough to make me not want to watch. At least those episodes.
I agree with a lot that has already been said, BTH that episode kept my attention the whole time. I was actually upset for the first time in a long time that I had to wait a week to find out more.
Just watched. I agree with a lot that was said. April eats crackers for me so I'm not on her side and I don't like her getting friendly with Catherine. I used to love Bailey and now not so much. Weber said it perfectly. Catherine turned her against him. And that makes me sad.
I thought this episode was super interesting and am looking forward to next week's.
I kind of enjoyed not having Mer in this episode. Her character is so boring now.
I'm + whatever to being over the kids dying storyline. Why does Shonda hate kids so much!!?
Seems a lot of us are on the same boat in being invested in the show because it's been on so many years, but hate watching at this point. Did someone say it was picked up for another season? Whyyyy? Honestly, it should've ended after Sandra Oh left. It just went downhill from there.

I'm glad I read these spoilers before I watched. Shondra always kills the kids!
I'm not even sure what is going on this season. The Minnick storyline is borning and she's an unlikeable actress. Not that her character is that unlikeable, just the actress.
I agrees with the PPs, the attendings don't really "teach" as well as the attendings before them. When Meredith and her classmates were residents, they had a lot of surgeries.
I also don't know how this was picked up for another season. Maybe they are waiting for something to replace it?

I'm watching it now and I think it's comical that April tells Avery that she earned the position because she's good. Um, if that was the case, wouldn't you have had it over Grey in the first place?
