Heading out soon to go to the resale store and then to indoor play. I was going to take her to an open gym thing, but it's way more expensive than I expected. Twice as much as other open gym times other places. I'm going to try to stay there as long as I can stand so I'll be packing snacks.
I'm so glad it's Friday! Ready for the weekend and some time to relax.
sophiegrace you poor thing. Are you getting any sleep?
Newp.
Maybe two-three hours total a night since Tuesday. Monday was a whopping 45 minutes because her fever was 102 so I watched her the entire night to make sure she was breathing. At least before she was sick I could settle her easily. Now I put her down and she acts as though I'm putting her in a vat of lava.

The only goal I have for today is to have H watch M for ten minutes so I can run down to the end of the mailbox and get our garbage can. I think I few minutes of alone outdoor time will feel fantastic.

tgrimes1980 about how long did it last? A few weeks? A month or two? Longer? I know it's anecdotal, but sometimes just knowing that it will get better helps significantly.

Ummm, it lasted until I sleep trained her at 8 1/2 months. I couldn't take it anymore because I was falling asleep at work and while I was driving. For M, she needed to learn how to fall asleep on her own. The very first day of sleep training she started sleeping through the night.
Oof.
I'd prefer to not have to sleep train, but I can already say after two weeks of this that I don't think I can go for months and months doing this. My memory is fried and I'm struggling with holding normal conversation. I don't think that's particularly healthy.

Hi. I'm here. Not doing anything today except laundry. I still feel awful but C seems to be fine besides a cough once in a while. H has been trying to let me sleep the past couple nights so he's been dealing with C for the first half of the morning. Last night he actually slept from 2 to 7, but I was up constantly with congestion and a cough. Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous.. 60 and sunny. I mentioned going to the zoo to H so we'll see if we do that. Hopefully I feel better by tomorrow because I could use some nice outdoor time.
sophiegrace Have room on that couch for one more? I brought wine
AV slept from 6:15pm to 10:30pm and then woke up every half hour screaming, she would drink .5 oz and nod off, and wake up in twenty minutes looking for more. This went on allllllllllllll night. What am I doing wrong? She's done this to me once before but that was like 1-2 HR stretches, not 20-30 minutes.
I cannot be sure but I think her farts are bothering her bc when she wails she twists her body and a fart comes out - how do I prevent this ? She never does that during the day!
Anyway, 15 weeks on Saturday, I think a little early for the regression but it's the only thing I can think of.
At least she's cute and has started "talking" to me all day - redemption I suppose.
tgrimes1980 and waitwhat We tried mylicon and gripe water in the early days and I'm still undecided if it helped but I'm going to break it back out. I even used the windi this morning, which did help her get some gas out and an eventual poop. I'm hoping the gas drops will help as a preventive measure bc once she's up, I'm up, sleep broken and it's the breaking of sleep that gets the most. I would do better on 3 solid hours of sleep straight than 8 hours broken up in 20 min increments.

Always room on my couch kleigh! All the books I've read seem to agree that the regression can start as early as 14 weeks, that combined with the characteristics of how she wakes up is why I've assumed she's regressing. We're having soooo many toots too! I think because she's comfort nursing over and over again and not getting burped because she falls asleep.
The daytime behaviors and skills are definitely redemption over here too. She's so much fun!
lol that lunch doesn't sound half bad waitwhat. I can't wait to have goldfish in the house.
I bet. It's actually one of the snacks with dairy that B can eat even though he's allergic. And it's awful because then I eat them. I can't resist goldfish.
Because they're DELICIOUS.
I bet they'd go great with a white. They're close enough to a cheese cracker.
L slept awfully last night? Do babies dream? I feel like last night was a nightmare (for me), L would be fussing but asleep!?! When he'd wake up, he'd be smiley and sweet! I'm on little sleep and have no motivation to do anything!
waitwhat, what is an EI lady? Does she just evaluate or will she diagnose and help come up with the care needed? tgrimes1980, how did M rupture her eardrum?

waitwhat My lunch was kinda lacking, too. DH put ALL of the turkey we had left on his sandwich so I made a really sad grilled cheese. I do have some falafel chips, though. Slightly spicy, very yummy. We have goldfish, too. Lillian doesn't like to eat them at home for some reason so I eat them for a snack. And yes sophiegrace, they do go well with a nice white.
Hi everyone, sorry for all the sleepless nights! Its beautiful weather here so we've been playing outside and have already gone on a walk. We will take another once DS is up from his nap. H got a bag of Smarties from a coworker for Valentine's Day so I plan to eat those with wine after DS is asleep tonight and just chill on the couch with L and a movie!
So I have to take D to the pedi at 5 because her eye has been running all day and they want to check her for pink eye and a possible ear infection. I was planning to hit the road for the Cape the second DS woke from his nap (which has just hit the 3 hour mark btw), but I guess that's not happening.
Parenting is effing exhausting, even when not having awful sleep issues like so many of you poor ladies are. Days like this I truly question my sanity in making not one, but two, of these things, and even moreso for wanting more.
I feel like I have been complainy the last day or two. Sorry about that ladies! I actually am really happy and excited to see my family this weekend!
I don't think you've been complainy at all! Although,I feel like I've been insufferable. I have such an easier time talking to everyone here. All I get IRL is a bunch of people telling me what NOT to do while not giving any actual support or advice on what TO do.
It was only 4 days of H being out of town, but I am so happy to have him home to be able to conquer and divide bedtime instead of doing both of them alone. I feel even bad for saying that with danib, vinolove, and cheshie6 around. You guys have all my sympathies and awe.

I second this! H works a lot and having to solo parent majority of the time and do bedtime alone sucks, but I know there's ladies here that have their H's gone more than I do. If I ever complain, just tell me to knock it off 😉
danib what's bedtime routine like for you guys when your alone? I'm always looking for ways to make it a little easier with the crying team parts 1 and 2!

We do a show/cuddle in my bed. I nurse H so he'll be happy. I put him in his crib with the mobile on (he likes talking to it, not for sleep). Brush teeth with C. Do bedtime story with C in his room and tuck him in bed. Do any last minute things while H is still happy (restarting the mobile if needed). Go get H and go back to my room. Give him a "top up" and rock/sing/etc for however long it takes to get him to sleep (getting shorter). Then watch TV until H is solid enough to lay down without waking lol.
Ok so this sounds similar to mine. We watch a show in the living room while I nurse L. Lay her either in the bouncer or on the play mat to keep her occupied while I do bedtime with E. once E is in his crib I'll do what I can around the house if L will let me, then cuddle on the couch for a while until bedtime. I only run into issues when L is asleep while we watch tv and wants to nurse when it's time for E's bedtime routine.
danib your routine sounds much better than what I was attempting this week. I was putting O down earlier than usual and keeping E awake longer than what she wanted but not feeding her until after O was down. But she was cranky and overtired during his books and songs which made him a little sad. It wasn't disastrous but not ideal.
For those using the Merlin suit, what are your babes wearing under them? I've got J in a one piece cotton sleeper and then the Merlin but the thing is thick AF I wonder if he's hot in it. Our house is set to 68 and comfortable.
I do a onsie and a pair of socks. He doesn't feel cold when he wakes in the MOTN.
