I'm at Panera with my sister picking up lunch for the two of us and our men. DS is napping and D is in a playful mood so it seemed like a good time to step out.

We did a 5k! I shaved 30 seconds off my time from last time, so that's cool. And with a baby who is a whole pound heavier. I'm ready to push instead of carry. Anyone know if it's ok to run with them in the carseat clicked into a jogging stroller? I started running with Lillian at 6 months when she couple push herself up into a sitting position without the carseat.
After the race, we had breakfast with my mom at a little cafe. Super yummy. Tried to take a nap, but the kids were uncooperative. Having lunch now and then yard work and then shower/relax time!
We went to a public farm and park this morning then drove around the area we might move to for houses and the like. It's a bummer since it's definitely a higher cost of living area and really we would want to move into a bigger place so a double whammy. Lots to think about, H's work definitely threw a big curve ball at us this week for sure.

It is SO nice out right now. 65 and completely sunny. I can't believe it's February. I dragged H off the couch and told him we need to be outside so we all went for a walk. Colin seemed to enjoy the walk this time since he didn't have to be all bundled up. Our raised garden is full of dried up leaves from the fall so I sat him on the edge and let his bare feet touch the leaves. Funny that he hasn't experienced snow yet so we kinda went backwards.
Taking a bottle break right now but going back outside when he's done. H is making ribs for dinner.

I hope you're having an amazing weekend away dashook!! Enjoy yourself so much! H and I have discussed vacationing up at the cape, but weren't sure if it was worth the car trip. You always make it sound so relaxing though.
Go ClassyMrsA!! That's so fantastic! In a few months would it be ok if I asked for an intro to running course? It seems as though that is the one physical exercise that completely alludes me. I would love to be able to be a person who can go out for a jog. I want to say that I've read not to jog/run with the car seat attached because it's then top heavy and changes the center of gravity making the whole thing easier to tip. Don't quote me though.
Cider tasting sounds like my dream night out waitwhat. We do tastings at our house, but it's usually beer or scotch. Wish I had more people I knew who liked cider so that we could do that too. Have so much fun tonight!
House hunting is so stressful aggiebug. If I'm remembering your area correctly, the COL is staggering. I hope the perfect place shows up for you all.
65 here too goldenlove3!! I wouldn't mind it year round TBH. Enjoy those ribs. Sounds delicious!
sophiegrace it sure is. We currently live on the cusp of the commuter area and it's expensive. Where we would move it's further in and yeah staggering is a good description. There are people that commute from our current location to H's soon to be location but it's not what we want.
ClassyMrsA I seem to remember that the recommendation is no running until 6 months old. But maybe that is stroller specific.
aggiebug I hear ya on the pain in the ass high COL. We were just saying this morning that our house has probably appreciated 200k since we bought it but does us absolutely no good since we would only move to a bigger (more expensive) house in the same high COL area.
We went for a walk and to the playground this morning and are going to walk to get sushi in a little while! Somehow O actually enjoys it (certain things) and we even have teaching chop sticks for him. He's been excited about it all day. I might even enjoy a glass of white with it!
hangry it does help with the down payment! At least that's what I keep telling myself :/. The other option is to move out of the area which is a very real possibility. Saddens me to think about but true.
dashook Hope you're enjoying the cape and glad to hear you got out with your sister even if it is just five or ten minutes. Are you having unseasonable warm weather over there too?
waitwhat I am so jealous of your cider tasting and date night! Have fun!! Is this a new restaurant or one you've been to before?
ClassyMrsA I've yet to go for a run (haven't run since pre pregnancy) and while I'm so eager to do so, I'm also so nervous about that first time!
goldenlove3 We are having great weather too (although not quite as nice) and I am loving it!

MH is going to a show tonight and I'm taking the boys over to our friend's house. I'm making chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies to bring over. It's taking all of my will power to not eat all of the cookie dough.

We kind of slept last night. It was gearing up to be the worst night yet so I got out an A&A blanket and swaddled her. We'd been swaddle free for about three weeks, but I was desperate. She was still waking up, but except for wanting food every two hours she would be able to settle herself in between. It's not even the startle reflex anymore, it's the annoying habit of her pulling her own hair when she's sleepy. She would be at the brink of sleep, yank her hair, wake up screaming. Rinse and repeat. She can't roll over in her dockatot so I'll just worry about the swaddle another time. I need some sleep.
Nooooooo!!! That's how it started over here. She had a fever by the beginning of that first night. Serious T&P that it's not that.
Great...
How is M doing now?
She's great now. Still a few angry poops yesterday, but today it was back to normal everything and she only had one. So Friday to Friday of bad poops with the fever lasting Friday night to Tuesday afternoon. She went to the Pedi on Tuesday just to double check her ears and throat because I was unaware that gastro lasts so long in infants. I guess it has to do with the all milk diet?

I never want this weather to end. Although I think I'm going to do something about my warm weather wardrobe. I was pregnant the last two summers and working a million hours at the hospital the ones before that. So excited to not be in maternity clothes and/or scrubs the entirety of the summer!
And the drinks! I wonder if H would be down with getting a margarita maker....

sophiegrace Colin will spit out his paci then start eating his hand or playing with his ear (ETA it's actually his playing with his ear that knocks the paci out. Silly me forgot until he showed me just now). That's what keeps waking him up. He used to literally spit out his paci when he fell asleep and he'd be good for the night (or at least a few hours). Now it's like he NEEDS to suck on something but his hand isn't doing the job. I've been rocking him to sleep until he naturally spits the paci out + a few minutes and then putting him down. It doesn't always last but it's a start.

Also is it just a coincidence that the regressions are starting with a cold or fever? C literally flipped a switch from Saturday to Sunday. He slept through the night for my ILs then was up every couple hours the next night. He also started getting sick at the same time.
sophiegrace the Cape is my favorite place in the world. You guys should definitely come up sometime! Added incentive now is that our girls could play on the beach together! kleigh, you know, I was hearing all week how warm it was going to be this weekend but it's actually pretty chilly with the wind. Doesn't impact our ability to drink though so it's cool. tgrimes1980 I really hope H isn't sick and that you can get some sleep!
tgrimes1980 E has also only had 30 min naps today but not those poops. I'm blaming it on sleep regressions and toddlers. Fingers crossed we both get sleep tonight.

Oh gosh dashook how much fun would that be?!! What are we drinking while they play?
goldenlove3, I wish she would stop doing it once she was asleep, but no dice. Used to be, but I'm wondering if teething has made it worse? Like she's trying to rub the pain away or something? Poor kids are trying to soothe themselves and end up doing the opposite.

Oh gosh.. it doesn't seem like we should be teething yet but it's really just around the corner.
