Are you setting up all the meals? I just ask because Lasagna is probably the first one people will do. I ordered pizza for my brother in law's family. Served it with breads and salad
Soup Roast in the crockpot pulled pork Enchiladas really any kind of casseroles
Also breakfast stuff or snack stuff because they will forget breakfast or they will have people stopping by and having snacks already there to offer would help.

When our close friend lost his sister, we also picked up a bag of basic groceries and supplies, including milk/eggs/juice/bread, tissues, and toilet paper.
Chili or I'll roast a chicken and send some bags of frozen shredded chicken. We also recently sent a GC to a local grocery store (one that does pick up).
We just did this for my BFF when her Dad passes last week. Here's what we did:
Broasted Chicken with potato salad and we also sent a chip dip meat & cheese trays with crackers and a veggie tray Lasagna & bread or lettuce for salads Deli meat, cheese and buns/bread & chips
