I don't think it's grandparents only that object to extended RF. I have found that the general public is not as adamant about car seat safety as some corners of the internet, this board included. I really think RF until 3-4 is the exception, not the norm, regardless of proof of safety.

"In my day..."
In your day, they gave kids liquid opium. Shut your face. He doesn't need juice. Or milk. He doesn't need a jacket; he's a furnace with legs and it's 83. No, signing is not making him confused. No, he doesn't need purees. No, he doesn't need shoes on. He doesn't need to watch television. No, he shouldn't know the alphabet by now.
Don't be sorry--i don't see anything. I realized today I was a day late so I figured I would check. But I didn't think I am. However, I have never used those before so I figured I would see if other people saw something.
DH and SD are home while I'm at work. As much as I'd like to be lazy today, I do not envy DH dealing with her shenanigans by himself all day. She has been a PITA lately.
I feel you. I think your SD is around the same age as mine? Pre-teen girls are hard.
It's a stat holiday here so kids and I are home while h is back at work. Lots of post vacation laundry to do. And we're going to pick up the dogs from the kennel, yay! The house is so quiet without them.

I agree with this. My pediatrician was shocked when I said DD1 was still RF and I had no intention of turning her until she hits the limits of the seat.
There was a whole thread on one of the "mommy groups" on FB about why it really doesn't matter what you do and everyone should MTOB. I was really shocked by some of the things said. It's fine if you need to turn your kid. You do you. But don't try to argue it's just as safe -- especially for children under 2.
home with both the kids because daycare is closed....but I still have to work from home. Hopefully my boss has no illusions that I'll actually get significant work done today..

I agree. Most people I know turn their kids as soon as the law allows (1 in Texas). The only person I know IRL that still has their toddler RF is my neighbor who is also the only person I know IRL that does more research than me when buying things.
But then you have to share all your snacks, not just the noisy ones. RF until he absolutely maxes out.

I bought some new tennis shoes yesterday only to find out this morning that they still had the security tag. Closest store is 45 miles away. Whomp whomp.
I know Larry happened. Please do not try to convince me otherwise. Please don't talk to me about coffee. I don't drink it. I don't caffeine. When I state my opinion, that is me chiming in on a topic. This is not me saying you suck at life if you do or feel differently. If I want to say that, I will. If I want to speak on you, I will.

Pliers?
B is going to bring home some wire cutters, hopefully that will solve my problem. I'm mostly just irritated that I planned my outfit around them.
I turned DS when he was 2 ... he was pretty big at that age and looked/acted uncomfortable. Much happier once we turned him.
DD turned 2 in January, but she is much more petite and seems perfectly comfortable and content still RF....no plans to turn her anytime soon, and probably 60% of that is also laziness and not wanting to re-do the carseats.
Your call at the end of the day. RF will always be safer, because science .... it would even be safer for adults. But following recommendations of 2+, I see no issue ....like, no reason to justify it 500 different ways with "good enough" reasons at 2+

If you have a large magnet, you can use it to remove the security tag. I promise I don't steal things, I looked it up when the same thing happened to me.
