1. How far are you now? 5w! 2. Symptom check: Captain Fartsalot, practically narcoleptic, feel like barfing always 3. What and when is your next appointment? first ultrasound next Tuesday, 2/28! 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I'm entering that magical and terrifying time of disappearing symptoms, here's hoping it goes by quickly.
I've never run a check in AND I'm in PS/DT, so if everyone's cool with that, I could try to lead this shindig.
1. How far are you now? 13w4d which makes this my last first tri check-in. What??
2. Symptom check: Nothing really.
3. What and when is your next appointment? MFM consult tomorrow. Not sure what to expect from this one.
4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? Just that I can't believe I'm so close to second tri! Also, we have only told our closest friends and family so far. I know I'm getting close to when I'm going to have to announce and it makes me so nervous. I always thought I would never do an FB announcement but now I can't see any other way to get the news out there, so I think we might do one. I just want it to be low key and not all AW-ish because I still vividly remember how much it sucked to see those when we were struggling.
@ketchup, yay for graduating to 2nd tri and congrats on baby GIRL! I'm sure TT and TT2 will be besties! And thanks for leading this check-in.
therealbug, cali, bye-bye for now and yay for moving on to 2nd tri!
So I was REALLY late to the last check-in (like, I just posted yesterday) so I'm basically going to copy and paste it here, sorry! I should have just skipped last week's and waited till today but I didn't realize I was THAT late.
1. How far are you now?: 12wks 3dys
2. Symptom check: Just more the of the same nausea. I feel like I'm buying ginger ale and saltines in bulk. Also for a little over a week now starting about mid-day I have a lot of pressure in my groin area. If I were farther along I would be super concerned. MFM told me its just my pelvic muscles shifting and stretching.
3. What and when is your next appointment?: March 2nd with my OB.
4. Anything you'd like to share with the group?: I had my first appt with the MFM on Thursday. The babies looked great and had all their arms/legs and heartbeats still around 170. The only concerning thing is that Baby A's umbilical cord has attached to the edge of the placenta instead of the middle. Dr said it can lead to poor nutrition or affect the growth of the baby but that they would be monitoring it all very closely. He said not to lose any sleep over it...ooookay! But overall he was very happy with how the babies were looking. Both were moving a lot which was so wonderful to see. I was really pleased with the MFM and liked him a lot.
@ketchup, We are due the same day so this is my last first-trimester check in as well!
1. How far are you now? 13 + 5 2. Symptom check: Still tired. I'm tired of being tired. I'm also having trouble sleeping. I keep waking up with pain in my lower abdomen and have to change positions. 3. What and when is your next appointment? I had my last RE appointment today and everyone was so nice and positive. I stayed this long because I have to do monthly intralipids but this was my last one! 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I can't believe I'm entering the second tri! Also, I told my cousin this weekend so now 5 people know!
cali, I'm in the same boat with telling people. Only my parents, brother, SIL, and cousin know but I'm going to have to start telling other people. I'm hoping when our bloodwork comes back this week I'll feel better telling everyone next week (well at least friends and maybe work). But I'm starting to get a bit of a beer belly so I don't know how much longer I can keep it a secret.

1. How far are you now? 12w3d 2. Symptom check: So tired, like for real, SO tired and bloated. Days of the headaches but other days feel pretty good. 3. What and when is your next appointment? U/S 12/27 and mat21 testing, then meeting my doc for first time the next day. 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I'm definitely gaining too much weight, but the combo of eating keeping me from feeling sick and being too tired to exercise, it's bad. I'm hoping once I get past the first tri, and weather gets better, I can be more active.

cali I wasn't going to do any announcement either but then...I have so many far flung friends and family, I want to do something so they know. But I have the same sensitivity you're talking about, on the other hand, it's a joyous thing for me and something I waited a long time and went through a lot for. It's a delicate balance.

Rama - it's like, rally rally easy to do. Just c&p what I've got written out ^^ up there, add people who ask to be added, remove people who tell you they're leaving for second tri (and/or do the math, even though it is hard), and come up with a QOTW each week (or don't, like I didn't today, because hard sometimes). Easy peasy. Plus, I have faith in you, so there.
I'm also incredibly sad to report that there are approximately zero usable "pass the torch" gifs, which would have been appropriately used in this here post.
Sounds good, @ketchup! ;) (I saw this shopping the other day and thought of you. Idc if it doesn't quite match the sitch.)

Weight gain for twins should be higher especially in the first tri. I've read one recommendation that was 24 pounds at 20 weeks so try not to stress over your weight gain.

@ketchup, glad you had a good vacation and congrats on team pink! therealbug, it's never too early for brownies, or any dessert for that matter. Rama, good luck on Tuesday! cali, hope the MFM appointment went well today. dashuria, glad they'll be monitoring baby A closely. king26, congrats on graduating from the RE! wannabmama, try not to stress too much about weight gain. It should even out over the course of the entire 9 months.
AFM, I have my NT scan this afternoon so I'll be back after that to share my update.

I'm back! NT scan went well and the baby was jumping around everywhere. HB was good at around 170bpm.
I'm 13+2 so @ketchup or Rama, this will be my last check-in here. First tri went so fast but so slow at the same time.
Symptom wise, I've been getting headaches lately. I had one for three days so that was fun. And Tylenol sucks so it didn't do anything for it. I've also had a weird heartbeat on and off. I brought it up to my doctor today and he wants me to give up caffeine (I was only having one small cup of coffee per day) and drink more water to see if that resolves things. If not, he'll send me to a cardiologist to make sure things are ok.
Next appointment is mid-March.
I found out last week that I got the job I really wanted! I'm so happy to be going back to work but will take any and all advice on how to tell my brand new (male) boss that I'm KTFU. I start March 1st and will be 14+ weeks by then so I don't want to wait too long to tell him, but also don't want to be having that conversation on day one.

So I had a big scare last night but first off I'll start by saying the babies and I are OK.
I am 13weeks today. Around 5:30pm last night I started having really bad stomach pains - I honestly thought I was having horrible gas pains. I was curled up on the floor for a bit and told my husband "I just need to poop or puke and I think I'll feel better!" I laid down around 6pm and shortly after felt a gush of blood. I continued having these gushes & filled two overnight pads in 30mins. Called my Dr. who said to head to the ER.
Loooong story short (we didn't get home until 5:30am) both the babies are good with strong heart rates. I was so relieved I was crying on the ultrasound table. They discovered a large SCH on (or around? The details on that are fuzzy) Baby B's placenta. I was also put on IV fluids and given the Rhogam shot. The ER Dr has told me to lay low over the weekend and try to rest and not lift my DS as much as possible. He said that this could resolve on its own but sometimes the SCH can take over the fetus, which has me so nervous. I see my OB for a follow-up on Monday morning.
Any SCH info/experience would be appreciated, as googling right now is freaking me out. I'm just so grateful we have our babies - I really thought things were over for one or both of them last night. Also my DH and baby boy are troopers who waited in the ER for 6hrs (WAY past DS's bedtime) and then after that ended up sleeping in the car for a lot of the night. Its tough not having any family around.
Oh my god, dashuria, that's terrifying. I hope that everything resolves quickly and neatly with no further complications for either of the little ones. <3

I'm so sorry, dashuria. I can't even imagine how terrifying that would have been. Happy to hear babies are ok though. No experience with an SCH but I know some of the SAIF ladies have, so if you haven't already, you might want to ask over there too.

dashuria how scary!! I'm glad you and the babies are ok, though! I have an SCH (I think...my doc has actually never called it that, they first called it bruising and then bleeding but from what I read online, it sounds/looks like the same thing). Mine is a pretty large spot above the sacs (seen at 8w and 10w on u/s, I had some spotting twice which doc said was likely from it). Anyway, they told me the same thing as you, pelvic rest, general rest, no lifting, etc. and they'd keep an eye on it. I never googled too much bc they weren't acting alarmed so I didn't want to freak myself out, but I do know lots and lots and lots of people have them and most are just fine. I hope yours resolves and no more scares!!

Thank you ladies for the encouragement! You all are the best. Thankfully no bleeding or cramping today.
wannabmama, yes those sound like similiar restrictions. Its good to hear your Dr didn't seem too comcerned. The ER Dr seemed more alarmed by it than the ultrasound tech so I'm really amxious to see what my OB has to say.
Good advice mrsrodgersaz, thank you! I meant to go AW on SAIF but got distracted today. Will check in over there though.

Sorry shytimes, I haven't been around. I admit I wondered why I was getting tagged for 1st tri.
I just had a super pissed off cervix so I'm unfortunately no help. I'm also unable to remember whobhad a SCH, but I feel like it was super common. Have you checked out the spotting poll dashuria? How have things been?
lilyharper, haha sorry about the first tri tags! Thanks for responding. I did hear from a few ladies that had some SCH experience. My follow-up appt was Monday and both babies looked great. SCH is not any smaller but also not any bigger, so "stable". I'm on continued couch rest until my next appt. Thank you for asking!!
