We went to the park after I picked up the girls. It was so packed, literally the most kids I've ever seen there. There was a little girl there, I'm guessing she was around 5, wearing super short shorts and a tshirt. I know it was warm (66) but I don't think it was quite that warm.
Posted too soon: after we got home from the park I made supper for my family before I had to leave. We had an appreciation dinner for work at an Italian restaurant. I'm stuffed.
eyelashedviper, sure- I'm for kids being kids and not swooping in on everything, but this kid was going crazy to other kids, too. I watched the gym lady have to intervene with him a few times and the parent still did nothing. He was maybe 5, so bigger than most kids there and apparently more powerful
This would piss me off. People need to watch their kids. This happens sometimes at the park to H, and it's so not cool.

rivers and roads I actually did the same thing with "Love." I opted for Drunk History tonight.
The kids were good for my first night of solo parenting. Well, SS was very good and L was tired and whiny, but I did a crock pot dinner so it wasn't inconvenient. I'm going to finish this episode and conk out so I can get up extra early to get both kids ready for the day.

Oh, wow, I figured toddler not 5 year old. That would really tick me off. I have said things to kids at play places (I shot daggers at one older kid who threw a ball at my baby and he got the message). However, if he's not even listening to staff fat chance he'll listen to you but I would intervene if he tried to hurt my child. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I would ignore those behaviours just that I might not catch the first pass or arrive late to the situation.
I once had a 2 year old clobber L while I had H latched on outside of arms reach. Cue awkward scoot across the floor with a kid on my nipple.

Speaking of parents at the park, DH and I once saw a mom totally lose it on another. It was scary. The first mom told an older boy (8-10 years old) on the structure "You do not kick my son" after she saw him kick her probably 3 year old in the head. She took her kid and walked away and told him to steer clear as the other boy was not playing nicely. Older boy's mom comes over screaming and cursing obscenities and threatening to call police because 'you don't talk to my son'. Wow. She didn't even hear the initial exchange just reacting based on what one of her kids told her. First mom's comment under her breath: 'I see where your son gets it'.

We had our follow-up with the surgeon today. L does have a second testicle with regular vasculature. Yay! It's still not palpable so the doctor's best guess is that it's at the top of the inguinal canal. Therefore he will be starting L's surgery with a laparoscopic look at what's going on and then proceed with the orchiopexy once he can base the strategy on what he observes. I'm not excited for surgery and I'm really hoping it all goes off without a hitch but I'm excited that my little guy has a shot at normal anatomy.

Sounds like how my DD1 would dress. She likes to pick out her own clothes whether they match or not or are weather-appropriate. I've stopped fighting with her over it and just give her a warning about being cold. Sometimes we end up leaving the park sooner than usual because she gets too cold. Natural consequences ftw.
Hey ladies! I've had a pretty productive day. MIL picked up H this morning and then S and I left to run errands. We stopped at a little toy shop downtown and I picked up a toy and book for her birthday. Then we went to the bakery and ordered her bday cake. After that was target and Starbucks. I dropped her off at my sister's house and I'm currently in the waiting room for my first haircut since April. I'm in desperate need.
I'm getting my hair cut on Friday for the first time since April too. Did you do anything drastic?

I definitely think she dressed herself. She also had slouchy boots on. The shorts were like the super tight cartwheel shorts I put on H under her dresses, not ones I would let her wear on their own.

Shortened everything back up. My hair was all the way down to the bottom of my bra band so I think she took 2 1/2 to 3 inches off. Plus my bangs weren't really bangs anymore, they went down to my chin so she fixed them up too. Feels so much lighter and hopefully will not get tangly as easily. Next time I think I'm going to have to color because these darn grays keep popping up.
ETA: I posted a pic to my Snapchat story earlier today when I was at the park if you want to see.
