Does anyone garden? It is already time to start thinking about what veggies to plant. The kids had so much fun helping last year. I'm so excited for some cucumbers.
Yes! What did you do last year and what are your plans for this year?
We did garlic, tomatoes, potatoes, hops, radishes, squash/pumpkin, beans, peas, carrots, broccoli, decorative corn, kale/lettuce, and dh planted me sunflowers. Adding on strawberries and blueberries this season. We will most likely do the same this year but probably adjust amounts, like we will do twice as many carrots but probably half the beans and radishes.
Last year was our first garden ourselves. We always just get stuff from my parents. We did green beans, potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, bell peppers, carrots, and we did a little corn just to see how it would do. We also have a few apple trees and 4 Blueberry bushes. This year I will do more green beans and the same of everything else. I'll add in white squash. Then I'll just go to my parent's for corn! When do you plant? We planted potatoes 2 weeks ago and will start planting in early April.

Both my parents are amazing at gardening and I can't even keep a house plant alive. I love fresh veggies, but I think I'm going to start small and make a little vertical herb garden and see if I can manage that.

Had our visit with the perinatologist this morning about baby girl's kidney. We learned that there don't appear to be any cysts like my OB said, but that she actually has a pelvic kidney and what my OB thought was a cyst is actually probably a little bit of urine since I guess pelvic kidneys sometimes have draining issues. So baby's right kidney is up where it needs to be and fully functional but baby's left is lower than where it should be and although there's a bit of urine it's still functioning. So now basically we monitor throughout the pregnancy (we go back in 6 weeks) and then as soon as she's born. All in all, she will be a totally typical kid (we just can't allow her to play football or ice hockey 😜) Thank you again ladies for all of the stories, support, and kind words!! They've really helped during the anxious times of waiting! ❤

Re: gardening. I planted garlic and tulips last fall. I have a purple thumb so I hope they come up. It's supposed to be pretty fool proof up here since the ground freezes and the snow waters them as the ground thaws, or something like that. We'll probably do a tomato plant again and DH wants to do peppers. We just need to deal with the weeds this year! Last year they were taller than me!

My MIL is coming this weekend and MH just had a huge system crash at work so he will be stuck there for who knows how long. I was supposed to go to girls night with some girlfriends tonight. Instead I'll be home entertaining my MIL. I might cry.
Ya'll DS is staying the night at his grandparents for the first time ever. It's the first time in almost 2 years (since he was born) that I haven't rocked my baby to sleep and it feels soooo weird. I should be celebrating somehow, but we have a visitor staying in the house, dh is occupied, and it just feels so weird not to have my little guy here!
I'm pretty sure I'm feeling little dude moving!! It's so hard to describe. It's almost like the beginning of a cramp, but in the middle of my abdomen, and it doesn't hurt. It's almost like a swishing. Ahh!!
We are spending the day out with friends which I'm excited about but also really wishing I could drink. We are going on a brewery tour, then dinner, then to a bar with like 20 different taps where you buy by the ounce and try all the different beers. I'll just be compensating by stuffing my face with snacks.
Also, DD is currently in her room playing with her dollhouse and it is the most adorable thing ever to hear her little voice acting out all these sweet family stories.
We went to the local home and garden expo this morning. I was on my feet for around 2 hours, and I'm regretting it. My lower back and hips are so sore, and my thighs are pretty much numb. I don't know how I'm going to make it through the next 19 weeks.
