mrsp121308, Oh my goodness they are the cutest!!!!
I want to go to the zoo bad! But I've heard Salt Lake City Zoo isn't that great, so I'd love to take Jane down to the Phoenix zoo when it's not scorching hot and we're there to see family.

I woke up at 2 am and tossed and turned for over an hour then was up for the day at 5. I miss being off and am already counting down to the weekend. I'm having a hard time adjusting to being back at work, more than I did six years ago.
I had a good morning - got up at six and baby slept while I got ready then got up so I could change her and get her ready for daycare. Just forgot to put dinner in the crock pot so we're winging it tonight. Jane was so happy in the truck taking her dad to work then she fell asleep on the way to daycare and when I dropped her off she woke up and gave me the biggest smile so of course I cried when I got in my truck to head to work.
Luckily I have things to do at work today or I would have just turned around and taken her home. Ugh, being a mom is hard.

I'm glad I remembered it wasn't Monday. It's my turn to pick Leo up at DC plus I almost parked on the street that gets cleaned. Finally had my coffee. Cleaned the house a bit. My brother is coming over to work on our resumes. His gf is coming to watch Alex.
I've been checking my work email. I missed our year end performance review. Grrr. I'm afraid to check to see if my director gave me a rating at all. He'd better. March is when bonuses get paid out.

I was actually wondering about our performance reviews. I missed the window to complete it, but I'm really hoping for a raise.
I'm sitting at the dentist waiting for him to come do his 2 minutes check. My regular hygienist is still on her maternity leave so I had this horrid older woman who was not very gentle. I will be super bummed if my regular girl doesn't come back.
I'm doing pretty good at meal planning now, but I forgot to put the pork dinner in the crock pot this morning so that will be tomorrow's dinner. Taco soup tonight! That fits! I'm addicted to skinnytaste, love her recipes, ....well most of them. My husband is doing the low carb thing again and I swear he simply thought about it and dropped 5 lbs. He's already on the gluten free thing because he gets really bad indigestion when he eats wheat - I think he's a wuss personally, but whatever. His Mom is all GF gung ho, but neither of them actually have ciliac. just wheat intolerance.
I can't believe I'm actually tired of eating out. I bought an instant pot though and totally love it so it's fun to cook again. It's a bit challenging to do things without carbs, but I just pick my weight watcher friendly things (pretty much anything I don't have to go figure out the points to) and he takes out the carbs. He'll have a taco bowl instead of the tortillas. and stuff like that. I eat my gluten/carbs and enjoy every minute of it!
I got her new cookbook for Christmas. That reminds me I should start making some of those recipes! Lots of slow cooker stuff, which will be good for the return to work.

Is anyone actively planning on getting their baby baptized/christened? I want to, but we don't currently attend church and I don't even know where to start with this.

The daycare just called and said Jane was crying a lot so I just said I'd be there to get her in the hour. I just have to finish a call at work and I can leave. I'm probably jumping the gun, but I don't care. We'll find out if she just needs me or she's got belly issues and gripe water is due again. She was super happy this morning.

Yes. We're Catholic. Usually baptize young within 3 mo. But I waited for Leo to turn 1 and did his bday and baptism party together. I'm considering doing it earlier with Alex maybe 8 or 9 mo.
For catholics, you're supposed to register with your parish church. Attend a baptism class (2 hrs). Can't remember something else about who can be godparents.

Did they say what they mean by a lot? I hope she's ok, but I also hope they're over-reacting.

We're getting Amelia baptized at the end of April. We aren't church goers but my parents are, so we're having her baptized at their church.

I hope she's ok! But this seems a little strange to me to have you come get her. Is this just how they operate?

We are... or should I say I am. DH goes to church for baptisms and funerals. Are you any particular religion?
I had dates for this weekend or a weekend in March when I didn't think my brother would be able to make it down for it, but he thinks he'll be able to do now we're checking May dates with the church. If the priest can't do it either weekend in May, then I want to do the March date. We had DS1's at 4 months and DS2's was at 3 months.
Our church requires you be registered and go to a baptism prep class. We don't know many people who meet the requirements to be godparents, but I don't think most people do either. There's ways around them. Godparents must be at least 16; confirmed; if married, has to be in the church; the opposite gender of the other godparent; and attend mass regularly.

Im Congregational so hopefully the requirements are a little less stringent. I wouldn't know anyone who meets those requirements!

When I got there she was sleeping. She was all smiles on the way home and once we got home. She's been sleeping on my chest since right after we got home. I think it is kind of weird that they called me. She had some gas, but unless she has a fever aren't they supposed to care for her? They did feel really bad when I got there, and I was quick to offer to come get her.
Cora slept from 10-5 again. I could get used to this. I think it's the fan we started running on high in our room -- it's kind of loud white noise. I will be running this fan when it's 5 degrees out if she sleeps this well with it!

I think they were. She's fine. She might be able to use some gripe water tonight, but she's been sleeping on my chest since we've been home.
catherineoctober I hope Jane is ok!!! Just saw the update that she is
I'm torn between loving that she needed me and annoyed that I lose confidence with the daycare. At least it was an easy day at work and I don't feel guilty for going to get her.

Our church doesn't do infant baptism, but does a sort of baby dedication thing. My parents and grandparents are coming in from out of state for Easter (and in-laws already live in the same town), so we are actually doing his dedication on Easter! I asked the pastors as soon as I knew when they were coming - I thought Easter Sunday might be too crazy to add a dedication to the service, but they said it was fine. I'm pretty excited as it will probably be quite a while before my grandparents make it up here again.

Today was a good day. Ended up watching a movie with my brother and ordered lunch. The most productive thing I did was make a list for my Target run tomorrow and find a picture and frame of Alex to take to the office on Thursday.
A person who was constantly commenting on how tiny Cora was/is, and saying that the baby that she was currently pregnant with was probably already bigger than Cora (she was approx 6 weeks behind me) made a post on FB saying how hurtful it is that people keep commenting on how tiny her 1 month old is.
