Henry was up all. night. long. I am not exaggerating when I say the longest stretch of sleep we got was 45 minutes, and that was when I finally just let him sleep on my chest in my bed. I called in today so I can take him to the pedi. He had a low grade fever at bedtime so I gave him so Motrin but even with that on board he's been completely miserable. I'm honestly hoping he has an EI or something because if there's no explanation for this behavior I'm going to lose my mind.
In other news, i have called in to my new job more in 6 months than I did in 4 years at my old job. I'm pretty sure my boss hates me. Daycare germs are the worst.

Sorry for the rough night, alpies! I hope it's something with an answer so you can get a solution. Hope you both get some naps today, too! Is your boss a parent? Hopefully they understand.

Morning! It's not as nice as it's been all week today. Still quite warm for February, but I get spoiled with 70 degrees quickly. I've got a Target run on the agenda, and that's it. Maybe we'll walk to the bakery and get a paczki since they are out today! And coffee. One good thing about the horrible nursing strike/weaning is that I don't have to worry about too much caffeine anymore. All the coffee!
I need to start going to bed earlier. I know this, yet, after I get off work at 10, I need to wind down. Before I know it, it's after midnight. And lately DD has been waking up at 5:55. Early naps all around today.
It's my day off today, so I should probably clean or something. I'm also hoping to actually start one of the colouring books my brother gave me for Christmas. He gave me the Harry Potter one and Doctor Who. But they've just been sitting in my desk drawer since.
Thursday is gym class day for us. He is napping while I get ready and clean up, then off we go. We were planning on meeting my H for lunch today but it looks like he has a meeting now, so we will just head home after class. It's supposed to rain today, but if not we will probably take the pup for a walk this afternoon since it's still a decent temp. That's about all on my agenda for the day. I still haven't cleaned up the basement from his party last weekend, oops.
Oh and after the thread on FB about potties I picked one up from ikea so he could get used to the idea of one
1) DS loves to take it apart 2) DS loves to try to stand in it 3) first couple times I had him sit on it, nothing 4) i think he did a small pee in it this morning. Then wanted to play in it after I rinsed it out.
I spoke too soon. He woke up literally 2 minutes after I said he was napping and still hasn't gone back to sleep. At this rate, he will get no more than a 40 minute nap before class *if* he ever falls back asleep. I am doomed.

Yes but she doesn't seem very understanding. When I called her this morning she said "do what you have to do, I guess..." 🙄
We just left the pediatrician. Double ear infection. Heading to the pharmacy now to get his antibiotics and then hopefully home for a nap.
Morning ladies! I took H to preschool then had to go straight to my work for a 5 year appreciation breakfast. I also stopped at my old clinic. Currently I'm sitting in the bru parking lot waiting for S to wake up so we can go inside. She needs more pouches and we need wipes. Of course she fell asleep right before we got here. We have a blizzard warning for this afternoon through tomorrow night, so yay winter.

That's frustrating, I'm sorry. She has to know that you obviously would prefer for your child to be healthy. I hope the meds get him feeling better quickly.

My job has a universal 10 call in per rolling year policy, no exceptions. It sucks having to choose between going to work and staying home with a sick child.

I think my boss and colleagues are getting tired of how much I have to call out for the baby, too. And I don't even miss that much work compared to other parents since luckily R is usually pretty healthy and DH and MIL can also stay home with her when she is sick. I think they just got used to me rarely taking a sick day for the first five years I worked here. Of course that was because I was hoarding sick leave for a future baby, since we don't have maternity leave.

Hi ladies! Ugh I hear people on the calling out of work. I NEVER called out pre-kid. And rarely with C, because he didn't go to school. Daycare germs are the worst. My manager is understanding but I'm wondering at what point a policy might be mentioned... In other news, I am fried and exhausted today after a super long night at work but I slept today so I got nothing done. Hours of chores await. Yaaaaaay.
Hey hey! I've been trying to read here and there but haven't had much ambition to type and post. I solo parented Sunday-Wednesday. I worked Mon-Wed and worked late (after 5) all three of those days, DS had hockey one of them, and we basically were eating supper at 7pm and by the time the kids got to bed I was done and in bed myself.
Anyway, I was off today since I worked Monday. I almost forgot DS had preschool this morning since I'm normally working those days. DD and I dropped him off and hit the grocery store. Both kids took a great nap today so that was awesome. 👌🏻
We leave early Sunday morning. I have a huge list of cleaning I want to get done and need to pack. I'm hoping to get a lot of it chipped away at tomorrow so that I don't have to be preoccupied away from the kids all day Saturday.
Also, my very last bag of breastmilk was used tonight. 😪 I'm hoping to do no bottle at bed the next couple nights but I'd also be ok with my mom continuing the bottle at bed while I'm gone. We'll see, I'll try it tomorrow and see if she fights it.
I missed greys because I went grocery shopping. The roads on the way there weren't too bad, but coming home the wind had picked up and visibility wasn't great. The store isn't that far from my house thankfully.
