Good luck today @amc25! Hope you get to join her in the birth day club, shawnabm1320!
::knock on wood:: AB has actually went to bed without a fuss and stayed there ALL NIGHT for 3 nights in a row. I think that's the longest stretch ever without MOTN wakeups. Only took 19.5 months!

Good luck today @amc25!
Last night viv spotted my kitchen timer. It is a black cat and she is obsessed with cats. Needless to say it is now her 'ditty' and she takes it everywhere. It had to be on her dresser in her room. She had to have it first thing this morning and show daddy right away.
Sending good baby thoughts your way shawnabm1320 and @amc25!!
DD has an eye infection so this morning DH and I were doing her drops (which is like an 8 person job). In the middle of that DS peed all over himself trying to get to the potty in time and Sam pulled a cup of water over on top of himself. Happy Friday to us!
On the plus side my big kids are going to our gym for a parents night out tonight for 4 hours. Woo!
My neighbor had surgery this week and has asked me to take her daughter to school for her since I already take DD. Her daughter is in 4th grade and does not say a word to us. I say "good morning how are you?" When she gets here and she doesn't respond. My kids talk to her and she doesn't say anything back to them. When we get to school to drop off she gets out immediately without saying thank you and walks away quickly in front of DD. I find this incredibly strange and rude. I get being shy. I was really shy when I was a kid. But she's 10 years old and I think should be able to use some basic manners.

Today is supposed to be a high of 79 so we are doing a big meet up at the museum that has a nature hike and playground.
rach yay! W had two nights of sleeping through the night with no wake ups. This is a first for us too! Today she woke at 7:30 ish. I really hope it lasts!
JR woke up at 5:45 this morning, so I went in, turned on her aquarium, handed her her baby, told her it was too early, and walked back out. She lay there quietly for another 20 minutes or so! Basically I'm a witch.
I finally went to see the doctor for my sinus infection and got started on an antibiotic, steroid and nasal spray. I can't wait for this misery to be over. Today is supposed to mid 70's and tomorrow will be 40, which is not helping my case. But it is Friday (yay!!) and we have no plans this weekend so I'm pretty excited to do nothing and relax for a few days.

We're making progress with potty training! If Hunter is naked he takes himself to the potty and has for a while. Today he was wearing clothes and walked around saying peepee so we went to the bathroom and he had peed his diaper but pooped on the potty. Usually if he's wearing clothes or a diaper he happily pees in them. He had 2 accidents yesterday and 1 the day before. I'm hoping today will be just as good! We aren't planning to ditch diapers for a while, especially if we're out, but the less diapers I change the better.
I ordered Mac a big boy bed. He's been in a toddler bed until now but he's very quickly getting too tall for it. I'm so sad he's so big, but he's so excited for a new bed. It's a low loft so he thinks it's the coolest thing ever.

Um. Nope. Not a witch. This is called parenting. Setting boundaries and expectations.
Wahoo for 20 extra minutes!
This is parenting? Dammit I thought I had magic powers.

Well if that qualifies you to be a witch I do not want to know what I am. My kids are currently cleaning and scrubbing their bathroom. I gave them each an enviro cloth and told them to call me when they are done.

Note that I am also cleaning. I mopped and swept.
Haha you and @justinslovo both thought I was calling myself a "bitch," but I was actually calling myself magical! Julia's never abided my pleas for more sleep before!
It is always funny to hear you all out east talk about your weather, which is the weather we just had. It was 78 here on Wednesday. Yesterday was about 20 degrees cooler, and today is another 20 degrees cooler (so, normal temps for February). We had about a week of really great weather and now it is cold and grey and I can't wait for Spring to get here, for real. Anyway, enjoy the weather we just had!
Just got back from A's EI assessment. It was 2.5 hours long. She was great the entire time, and even exceeded my expectations on some activities! They were very nice ladies, but in the end they confirmed what I've already known, speech delay. We set up a plan and will be instilling it ourselves and just checking in with the coordinator on a monthly basis. I like this action plan better because 1. it's free 2. I dont have to miss anymore work to take her to eval's. So now we have a slightly better plan in place and will see what the future holds! She's already made strides since her initial assessment a few weeks ago so I'm not too worried. I just need to work on my jealousy/bitterness when everyone else talks about how much their kid talks. It really sucks, but hell if A were talking up a storm and saying funny things, of course I'd mention it! Such is life!

That's a really good plan. Did they give you information about working on the plan? Did they break down the delay- expressive, receptive, artic?

There's a chart that breaks those down. Her receptive, adaptive and social emotional are all on par if not above 19mos, her expressive range says 13-18mos which they confirmed was about 25% developmental delay to qualify. They said she demonstrates a discrepancy between her comprehension and her expressive language. They gave us some short term goals to work towards with Target dates, it's short and easy to read which is so helpful. Her gross and fine motor were all 22 months haha so at least she's got that going for her!

rachydc I am glad you have a plan in place and feel confident with that plan.
In regards to the jealousy/bitterness that is normal. I would feel twinges of that when everyone was still pregnant a month after I had viv. It is a natural human reaction. There are a lot do moms here that have or had children with speech delays that can relate to what you're experiencing. Reach out to them or lean on them for advice. I was there with dd1 and we are still in the middle of it.
It may not seem like it now but you will get past this point and it makes all those milestones she meets so much more precious in your eyes.

There are ants coming from the ceiling panels in my office. They are walking around my wall too high for me to reach to kill them. Does this mean I can burn my work down and leave for the day? Ugh ugh ugh.

A 13-18 months age range to me isn't terrible. It says that there might be some skills that she does have (at the 18 month level) and some that are slower to develop (at the 13 month level). Now that you have a plan, I bet you you're probably going to be more conscious of working on developing skills.
Just got back from Trader Joe's. Went to get spinach tortellini and mini chicken tacos and came back with those plus dulce de leche yumm yumm and chocolate covered banana slices.

I love Trader Joe's. Their cheese department gets me every time.

We totally lucked out with the awesome weather this vacation week. We had an awesome time in the Lake George region and we were able to get to the zoo and playground at home too. I hope April vacation is full of nice weather too!
