I'm waiting for my belly button to pop out and then I'll know that the baby is fully cooked. Only half joking.
I live in fear of this. Mine has gotten flatter, but isn't out yet. Outties freak me the hell out (in the context of my body, not on other people). I don't like any random bump stuff on my body. It drives me insane when I have a bug bite or pimple.
We usually eat at our dining table. I like for us to talk about our days during dinner. We'll eat at the coffee table if I've taken over the dining table for a project or crafts. Our TV is in view of the dining table so sometimes we watch a show after catching up and move to the couch when we're done eating. We do weekend lunch usually at the dining table and play a board game while we eat.

Outies creep me out too! Really hoping mine stays in!
FFFC: One of my best friends is having a baby shower next weekend for her 2nd kid and I enjoyed judging the things she had on her registry. Basically I'm a bitch.
How long has it been between kids? Gender difference?
Lol, I bought all we needed and threw a bunch of extra nice to have things on ours since I'm 99% sure work is planning a shower... especially since they called today to make sure I would be at our staff meeting next month 😅
I think because her mom is the one throwing it is making me more judge-y than usual. At her shower for her other kid her mom gave her more than 20 gifts....seriously...no joke. It took her maybe 1.5 hours just to open all the gifts. It was ridiculous. Her mom likes to show off so much. It's pretty hard to watch. I'm glad that we literally just got the invite in the mail so we already have plans set for the day.
Is it bad etiquitte for your mom to be involved in the planning of your shower? My best friend is technically throwing mine, but since I just got married in 2015 and she was my MOH, my mom is helping with expenses. Plus she and my BFF are a great planning team, so I think my mom is helping her out with stuff.
My step-mom is throwing my other shower, because that side of the family doesn't get along with the other side of my family, and there will be no friends there, just my dad and step-mom's side of the family.

It'll be 2 years and a couple months between kids and she is having a different sex this time. I don't think a different sex matters though when it comes to this. But then again I'll always be team green so all my stuff is already neutral. I just think it's a waste to get pink/blue swings and such and then get new ones for a new baby. But again...I'm a bit of a minimalist and cheap.
I know that the rage periods are probably called for, but please keep an eye on it. My prenatal (and postpartum) depression with DS1 was diagnosed due to constant rage with everyone, not just H, and every little thing setting me off
This is good to know. I'm keeping an eye out for signs and symptoms because I know I'm predisposed to mood disorders anyway. At our first prenatal appointment with our doula in April she said she'd go over things my husband should be looking for that would be red flags.

akraus2015 I've never heard of that being bad etiquette. Most of my friend's moms threw theirs. But if your mom is showing off and buying you tons of things and wrapping them individually then I'd lean towards yes.

It's very common around my area for people to have a shower with a 2nd kid if there's a big age difference...although I don't know if I would consider 2 years a big difference. People around here usually do two showers if the 2nd kid is a different gender, though.

Yes this is a bit annoying...especially when it takes forever to open the gifts. My mom said something the other day like "I've been hoarding things to give to you at your shower." and my first thought was "crap".
akraus2015 - I don't think it's bad etiquette for your mom to throw or help out with the shower. I've been to some hosted by the grandparents-to-be and others hosted by friends.
ETA: My sisters are throwing mine but I bet my mom helps them with expenses.

You guys. I can't with the stupid today. I got 3 different emails with legit asshat questions before I even finished my coffee this morning. I responded with asshat responses each time. Ugh!

Okay, this is the second day this week where I'm walking normal speed and get an ache radiating from the right of my belly button down to my right hip. It stops after a couple minutes. Normal? What is it?

Huh. Could it be RLP? I would say maybe sciatic nerve, but that's usually in your back, right?

LOL is this a thing? Mine never popped out with DS. It just got flat.
I heard it happens. And mine as a pretty deep innie and it is getting closer and closer to being flat w/ 3 months to go, so I can only assume it'll pop when the baby is ready, like a turkey. Hopefully, not any sooner though.

Mine got really flat, but never popped out. It's not a guarantee yours will pop!
We eat at our kitchen island most nights. In the living room, sometimes, if we have the fire going, but we don't watch TV. At the dining table occasionally, if it's a nicer meal. If we've had a long day and are tired and are having a real simple, quick meal, we'll eat in the office, H at his computer desk, and me on the chair, usually just playing on my phone or laptop.
I think wedding registries are way more fun to judge.
I know someone who did a FULL registry for her second wedding even though she kept most of the shower gifts when she and her first H split and her and her new H had been living together for a couple years with a fully stocked house before the wedding. By FULL I mean 270+ items for over $12K in total gifts on the list.

If judging registries is wrong, I don't wanna be right. Mostly I'm just nosy - I wanna know what everyone is getting.
We do a mix of table and TV. With DH's current job, we eat separately a lot because I can't wait to eat as late as he gets home on the average day. If we are eating together, sometimes we sit at the table and catch up, sometimes we go watch an episode of a show. We spend plenty of TV-free quality time together outside of dinner. Growing up we did something similar so it's normal to me.

I did a full registry for my second wedding but my first wedding I didn't have one at all did not have that much on it... We had some stuff from our first homes so it was mostly things we would like to have like higher end towels, baking sheets, butcher block. In the end our favourite gift was cash and now that is what I give people haha.

Shoot, how the heck will I know if the baby is done?

We've always eaten at the dinner table. Just kind of the way it is in our house. On the weekends if we're watching a movie we might eat on the couch but that's pretty rare.
Has my first NST today. It went pretty well. Babies were stubborn and wouldn't wake up at first so it took extra long. They peeked up when dad started to sing to them. Also I only gained 1 pound in the last two weeks. This calls for a celebration!
