TBH I don't think it means anything more than that event being now seared in your memory for being rather traumatic and your brain is trying to deal with it. When the kitty is alive in your dreams, what is he doing?
If I witnessed that I would be upset and for sure have nightmares, but I think the cat being alive in your dreams means "hey don't worry about me, I'm OK now". That's just what I take from it, I am no dream expert.

Ok, I like this. I'm going to meditate on this.
I agree with this too. Like the cat is saying 'hey there I'm ok don't worry about me'. I would take it as a positive.
::Hugs:: @juliagulia that sound pretty traumatic. I agree it's probably your subconscious way of processing it and that it being alive in your dream is a sign of "I'm alright". Tw:death
Yeah she's usually alive as well, just ranging from not liking me or looking strange to being peaceful and loving.
I felt a few times like she was reaching out and you're right, it definitely leaves an odd nagging feeling that I wouldn't exactly describe as comforting.
I'm sorry for your loss and I hope these dreams stop soon so you can put the cat situation behind you.
Maybe since you talked about it they won't happen again. Kind of like if you tell someone your wish it won't come true. ❤
Does the cat, or the incident, or the dreams, remind you of anything else?
Or were there other circumstances around the incident or happening that day that might also need processing?
I'm not sure because I don't remember the other dreams, I just woke up and was like "damn, that cat was there again" and realized it has happened before. It's an orange cat so it's definitely the same one. I'm going to right it down if it happens again so I can piece together any common factors.
In general I've had quite a few bad things happen over the last couple of weeks (both before and after the cat) so I'm sure it's all connected somehow.
Yeah... you have had a rough couple weeks. Your brain is processing a lot, and maybe it's a bit easier to start with the cat? I think some meditation time would be good for you. I do like the idea of the cat trying to show you he's ok.
My childhood cat still shows up in my dreams occasionally. He's always his normal self, though, and I'm happy to see him.
