Sorry for the rough night tgrimes1980. I hope H feels better soon, poor thing. FX the dryer is an easy fix.
B was supposed to have a check-in with the SLP but she's sick today so we'll go next week instead. It's beautiful out so B asked if we could go on a 'walkie-walk', lol, which I guess is what my parents call it when they walk their little dog. C is her usual chill self and currently trying to roll back-to-front on her playmat. She got about 90% of the way last night but couldn't quite figure out what to do with her bottom arm.
I need sneaker help. B needs sneakers for the spring/summer. Is it wise to buy Velcro or does it not matter because he can't tie his shoes yet?
Other than dress shoes, I've kept DS (3) in Velcro bc it's easier for ME, lol.
I just bought him Nikes with Velcro for spring and he can get them on and fastened himself, which is lovely. The Stride Rite sneakers he's had have been trickier for him bc the Velcro tab folds back on itself and you have to pull it tight.
tgrimes1980 hope the dryer is an easy fix! We were without a washer for almost 2 weeks and it sucked!
danib I laughed when you said you think last night was better but can't be sure. I laugh because I know exactly what you mean. Let's just tell ourselves that it definitely was, in fact, a better night.
waitwhat when does B turn 2? I think O had some Velcro shoes he could do last summer, he's a June baby. I would def do Velcro bc as Liz said, it's easier.
So we had only 3 wake ups last night instead of 4, so I'm counting that as a win. Today I have a goodwill drop off and a Pilates class. With my parents here, a meet up with a friend, and then a trip for lunch last Friday 2 hours from home, I didn't do any exercise. So im looking forward to my class today.

Morning ladies. C and I are just having a chill PJ day today after a busy weekend. He did great at my parents Saturday night. My family had a lot of fun with him. After I picked him up yesterday, I took him to meet my friend from high school. Her kids got sick everytime we had plans so it was nice to finally get together. He slept pretty good last night. Went down around 8 and woke up right after the Oscars ended. Gave him a bottle and he slept until 7.
Tomorrow I signed us up for some mommy/baby class. The lady who runs it came to our class at the hospital and she seemed fun so hopefully he enjoys it. I also signed us up for another class next week at a place called Little Gym. Not sure how either are going to go but figured that we should try out some classes while I'm still off work.

Well, after two nights of decent sleep we went back to having 5 wake ups last night. And since I stayed up way too late last night watching the Oscars, I'm dead today.
I was planning on taking the boys out to lunch today and doing some errands, but it's snowing... AGAIN! MH took my car since its better in the snow, but that means the boys and I are stranded here.
waitwhat team Velcro here. I have thought about getting a pair of Chuck's which would be tie but other than that I see no benefit to laces at this age. Especially since S loves being independent it's so much easier.

waitwhat team buy what's cheap and will last the longest! I typically buy DS's shoes at consignment shops so I've done both laces and velcro and haven't seen much of a difference tbh.
Cute story to share from the weekend. DS has been obsessed with L lately. Yesterday morning I was changing her diaper and E helps by pulling out the wipes for me and handing me the diaper when I ask him for it. I heard L pooping just before all this, so I knew it would be a bad one. When I pull the dirty diaper down, E is kneeling next to me and his face went from happy helper to a look of pure horror!! LOL! Not sure if I'll be getting anymore help from him, but the reaction I got was priceless!
tjanca22 the diaper-change story is too funny! DS also likes to help with diaper changes but seems to take delight in seeing how gross they are. He's always disappointed if it's just wet, or if I fold the dirty diaper up and toss it before he can see it. If only I could train him to change the diapers himself...!

O starts daycare in a week and I'm really stressing out about how much milk to send with him to day care. At home with my mom watching him, he takes a 3 hour morning nap and a 1.5-2 hour afternoon nap therefore, he only takes 3 5oz bottles for the day. I know he's not going to be sleeping like that at daycare... at least not right away. So I'm worried he's going to want to eat more often.
Question: should I send his normal 3 5 oz bottles? Send an extra 5oz bottle for 20oz total? Or should I send 4 4oz bottles? He will be getting the same amount total just distributed differently. The issue is I can't pump 20 oz a day. So 4 5oz bottles isn't sustainable. Im pumping btw 16-19.5 oz per day.

Solidarity my sleepless friends. This is wayyyy more exhausting than the newborn days IMO.
FX for an easy dryer fix tgrimes1980. How are you feeling?
+1 to things blurring together danib. Couldn't even begin to guess how many times M wakes up at night. And no more snow! What's your summer like? Does it ever get really hot? I keep forgetting it's still February. Although I remember when I was little we used to get snow until March, that hasn't happened in years.
LizInFL I hope you and the kiddos enjoyed your walkie-walk. And go C!!! We are no where even close to back-to-front.
4 boxes of Girl Scout cookies waitwhat?! Drool! I hope naps are back to baseline today. I'm at a loss as to what to do about M's sleep attire. We were back to swaddling when she got sick, but she can now hulk out of it and loves to then cover her face with it. But when I put her in her zipadee zip she thrashes around. I keep hoping that if I persist long enough she'll eventually just be able to relax during light sleep periods. Lolololololol.
Oooh enjoy Pilates hangry!! I've never done just a regular Pilates class, but would love to try it.
Jealous you have a Little Gym close by goldenlove3! I would love to have something like that here to take M to. I'm so happy that C is such a good sleeper. I want to hear all the good stories so that I'm reminded good sleepers exist.
jubilantsquirrel I thought I'd let you know that the minbie bottle was almost a success. She actually drank some, which was a first, but then had an hour and a half meltdown after she realized what she had done. Actually started off kind of funny and then turned sour when I couldn't calm her down. Anyway, thought I should let you know so that you could try it and maybe have better luck. I got mine off Amazon.
4+ hours dashook?! WHAT?!!!!! How?! I am so impressed. Tell her she's an amazing unicorn for me.

H did the most this weekend. I was struggling hard with no sleep so yesterday morning when M woke up at 6:30 and wouldn't go back down instead of giving me a pat on the back he picked her up and went out to the living room. I thought for sure the crying would start soon after, but instead I woke up in a daze and hour later. All was quiet so I got dressed and ready by myself. I get out to the living room and she was passed out in the crook of his arm. Between screaming bloody murder when he'd hold her and not falling asleep off of me this was quite the shocking site to see. Apparently H is now the shit according to her. About time!!

tgrimes1980 Right there with you. We had a similar night which sucks because Lillian went down at the unheard of time of 7:15. She usually goes down at 9ish...sometimes 9:30. I was looking forward to some just DH and me time, but Lilah threw me a curve ball. Hope tonight is better for you!!
LizInFL That's what Lilah is doing. I'd say it's 50-50 right now. Sometimes she ends up with her arm pinned under her and sometimes she moves it out of the way. It's getting better though. I bet C figures it out in the next day or so.
waitwhat I'll come have cake and cookies and wine with you! DH and I are giving up desserts for lent. I'm worried. I love dessert so much. Also, Lillian mostly has velcro shoes. She can put them on herself now. We do have one pair of lace up shoes which are super cute, but the velcro is more practical. Last summer she lived in crocs which have neither and can get wet.
goldenlove3 We took Lillian to The Little Gym from 7 months to 19 months. She loved it. I'd put her back in but it's so much more expensive than her dance class it just doesn't seem worth it. I want to do some classes with Lilah, but I can't do anything much with Lillian tagging along.
LOL tjanca22. Lillian gets this look of disgust on her face when I change Lilah. Even if it's just pee, she goes "Eww. Gross poop." She will throw away diapers for me though, so that's nice. I wish I could get a picture of her face. It's hilarious.
cookswithwine9 I have no experience with bottles or daycare. I'd be inclined though to send maybe 4 4oz bottles? It's the same amount, but smaller meals 4x instead of bigger ones 3x to account for him probably being awake more.
sophiegrace we'll have snow into April. Our July/August gets hot, though my version of hot gets laughed at by my Texas friends
Do you mind it for the most part? I grew up in a town next to a ski mountain and lived for snow, but I surprise myself by not missing it like I thought I would.

I'd probably laugh. Our summers are typically 95-105 with 70-90% humidity. August is typically a "feels like 115" month. I am guessing I'd love your version of hot.

Lillian slept great last night, but Lilah slept like crap. What happened to my sleepy newborn who I had to wake up to eat? Will she come back or is the universe laughing at me?
We had a busy day so far. Had a mom's club meeting where we learned about gardening and got a tomato plant. Then home for lunch and right back out to take the cat to the vet. She still has signs of a uti so we are doing a broad spectrum antibiotic for 10 days. Joy. Out vet is about 30 minutes from us, but traffic was surprisingly good today so it was a pleasant drive. About to go get dh and go to the store. Making chili tonight and we are looking at taking a family vacation for my birthday in October. DH suggested Disney World and staying on a room with a savanna view at one of their resorts. I'm excited!
Hello ladies. I hope everyone around here is doing well. I wish I had more time to tcf but with an 18mo and a 4mo, it's hard to even have time to think sometimes! Not to mention, DH has been working ~70hours/week lately so I don't have a lot of help except Sundays.
Anyway, H turned 4mo today and I'm hoping I have more tcf time soon bc I miss all of you.

Training him to change diapers would be like the mother of all mom wins!
Last night. It sucked. I broke down and cried. Wtf is going on, and whose sick joke was it to give us 10-11 hour sleep stretches at 2 months old only to shove in my face hourly, screaming, inconsolable wake ups at ~4 months old. They can go eat pebbles, the bastard. Pebbles that have boiled in the hot summer sun.
I need to just forget I ever had those glorious nights and expect hourly wake ups because my emotions are being toyed with and I can't take it.
sophiegrace I can't wait for a big Disney trip too! DH and I have talked about what good timing is because we would ideally like to go once no more naps or strollers. And if we have another kid, that means disney is a long ways off.

I reeeeeally want to go, so we'll probably go maybe end of next year? I wish we would have gone pre baby to indulge in some drinking around the world. Didn't realize this was a thing until I was already pregnant.

I would normally say all the wine kleigh, but in this case I'll say all the coffee. I was just thinking about this the other day. I've had one three hour stretch since she was born. One. And I'm still struggling with the sleeps. If I had gone back to an almost normal nights sleep before getting hit with this I probably would have lost my mind. At least I'm somewhat conditioned.

tgrimes1980 I hope your H found an easy fix for the dryer and that little H is all done with the crazy poops. Tomorrow has got to be better, right?
Hi amberlie!!! I bet you are doing some amazing mom-ing. I also deal with the 70+ hour work weeks. It's lonely. You're a rockstar to be able to do it with 2u2. Hope the girls are sleeping well for you!
What a fantastic update @sarahwithanh. It has to be great to be able to just breathe for once. I'm sorry M is part of the sleep regression club, looks like I need to get a bigger couch and more wine for everyone who has joined me in no sleep land.
sophiegrace I chickened out. Just put her down swaddled, in the RNP, per usual. kleigh oh wow I feel for you so hard. I went through a similar thing with DS and it was rotten. The backsliding is definitely a mindf*ck. I'm hoping against hope it doesn't happen to me with D. waitwhat GL!! I hope Merlin works his magic for you!
