I'm scared to type this but Merlin worked his magic. J was up at 4:15 for the first time MOTN! Then he was up for the day at 6:30...along with B. Why don't my kids enjoy sleeping in??! What age do they start to enjoy sleeping in? Does that ever happen?

I guess the baby class was moved to Wednesdays. Their website needs to be updated. So we're just hanging out today and going to class tomorrow instead.
Sorry I've been MIA, my sister was in an accident, she has a concussion but is otherwise ok. We're supposed to go to her house this Friday for my niece's dance recital. Had to take both older dogs to vet yesterday for their bordatella vaccine so they can be at Day camp while we're away. Finally got a call from new audiologist... they don't take babies under 6 months. I'm basically waiting for my kid to. E older before I can figure out if he is having hearing issues. With my brother needing tubes and currently has hearing aids, I'm freaking out! L's face is a chapped mess and though in a cooler halo he scratched his face up!?! He woke up every 2 hours last night so I slept very little because it takes me 20 minutes to fall back asleep. I can't seem to get him to nap during the day either unless it's physically on me. I'm just stressed out!

Hugs cheshie6, that's a lot. Could L have a rash on his face that just looks chapped that it's making him so itchy? How long has it been like that? I'm only asking because we dealt with a bad one when she was younger.
sophiegrace, I don't know, thought it was heat rash, then drool rash, now I'm wondering if it's what I'm eating. Doctor thought it was the cold weather. Here's a picture below, PDQ will poof later.
waitwhat, no reason, just have to wait for the place with broken machine... it's been a week, still no word. But they only do this test every other Wednesday and 2 appointments that day, it took 6 weeks to get in so will probably need to wait 6-8 weeks when they do call. My mom is trying to relax me by saying he's talking/cooing but it's not helping.

*hugs* cheshie6. That is really frustrating for the test to be constantly pushed off. Did the original place have anything sooner? (ETA- I see you addressed this already) And that rash looks similar to what C has. We were using aquaphor and it worked a little bit but I just switched to Aveeno eczema lotion and it cleared him up within a couple days. .
starbuck27 Wow I'm sorry. Sending you all the coffee!!

Do you guys have paczki day in your area? I'm not sure if it's a regional thing. I just know that Detroiters go nuts for their paczkis and I'm just like eh about it.

Oh my gosh cheshie6, I just want to squeeze him!! That looks a lot like what M had except hers covered her from head to toe. It went away when everything was finally cleared from my diet. When it was only on her face they though it was eczema or contact dermatitis. The pediatric dermatologist believed it to be eczema and then changed the dx to eczema secondary to MSPI. But it can be brought on by many things because what it is at the core is the skin's inability to retain its moisture barrier.
We were told to bathe every night in warm water and put cream on her before she dried off. The warm, wet skin helps with absorption. And then cream at every diaper change and/or every two hours. Vanicream was recommended and aveeno eczema if we couldn't find the vanicream. They're both super super thick. Now that she's cleared up just lotion her after bath and in the morning.

Is it the same as doughnut day?
ETA: if so, yes. Not so much here, but definitely where H and I grew up.

Well they don't like when you call them doughnuts but they pretty much are huge jelly filled doughnuts.
sophiegrace, so did you clear your diet and it went away or was it the lotion? What did you remove from your diet? Or am I reading it wrong?
Sorry I was trying to not be word vomity and still give a decent explanation...a skill I'm am extremely lacking in! The rash stopped getting worse when my diet was cleared, but didn't go away until we went gung ho with the lotion/baths/humidifiers. She was already confirmed to have MSPI when she got the rash, but it takes 2-3 weeks for the proteins to clear from Mom's breast milk and another 2-3 weeks to clear from baby's system after that. She already had a bunch of systems but they think that because her intolerance kept building while we were waiting for it to clear our bodies that it showed on her skin. MSPI is milk soy protein intolerance, so no dairy, whey, casein, and the hardest part, soy. It's in everything. Soy lecithin is an emulsifier that I swear is in everything. I'm not an expert on it, but you would probably have an idea if L had something like this going on that would have set the rash off. I'm still not 100% sure what was reflux and what was MSPI, but her nasty diapers with bloody mucous was the ringer that got her the diagnosis.

Every since M started teething she's doing this weird gumming things while eating. It makes my hair stand on end. I really hope this isn't a permanent thing.
I feel so bad for her. She can't sleep, she's teething, she's in a leap and probably has no idea WTF is going on with all these new things she can all of a sudden do...I would be a bit of a mess too.

Morning!
Can someone send me some money pancakes, please?
So today is my last day of leave 😢 and DS1 is sick. Thankfully he doesn't have a fever, just some really bad congestion and a cough. Poor guy, he's in a good mood though. I was planning on taking them out to lunch, but not with the big kid coughing every where. So we're just hanging out at home, still in pjs.
I need to order this magical merlin suit. I didn't use one for M and the transition out of the swaddle was a nightmare. Did anyone still use it after their kids could roll?
It does seem like it would be hard to roll in. But technically you are not supposed to use it anymore once they can roll.
I was debating making pancakes for dinner but I feel bad bc we just had some Sunday morning. But if there was money inside it would be like a completely new meal, right?
On the sleep note, I just spent 30 minutes rocking etc to get a 20 min nap in the crib. Sigh...
But I had panera for lunch with a cookie to follow! Focus on the positives hangry.

I saw someone in my N13 group who lives in SD mention them on FB, but otherwise I've never heard of them.
Then today I was in the grocery store bakery to get a king cake and saw them! So odd...we are in north FL and to my knowledge they're not really a thing here. My grocery store is a FL-based chain so it was weird to me that they had them.
Our minister mentioned that in certain countries, eating pancakes the day before Lent begins is a thing. Sounds good to me!
Hi!
Busy day here. Two weeks from tmrw the real estate photographer will be here. Cue panic.
cheshie6 hugs, girl. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time getting the hearing test administered. I hope you hear back soon. Also, O is just the cutest! Love those cheeks.
I'm making jambalaya tonight and we're having a king cake courtesy of Publix. I'm going to make sure DS gets the piece with the baby.
