This is my last pic .... I was trying to take a selfie with Gianna because she was being super smiley. Of course she stopped smiling the minute the phone came out. And then I noticed how tired I look. 😔😔
Good morning, ladies! Another good night of rest for me ☺️☺️☺️. Getting ready to go to the dr. My appointment lines up with baby's next feeding... eek.
I cooked dinner at home last night, which made me realize I don't remember the last time I cooked. Between basketball games and dance we have been gone 2-5 nights a week every week since December. 😳
requiressnacks sorry daycare drop off was so hard today. It will get easier....at least that's what everyone keeps saying. Lucy that's awesome! I was doing a little reading last night to get an idea of when we might be able to start introducing the twinkies to cereal and solid foods. Did you guys know there is arsenic in rice cereal?!?!?!? I was like wtf! We'll be doing oatmeal when the time comes - yikes! I was showing C how cool snapchat is. One day, he's going to hate me for this lol
We also tried out the woombie swaddle last night and I'm in love with it!! Kind of pissed that it took me two months to hear about it/buy one. It's now impossible for her arms to get out! 😎

Tired or not it's a great foto! If I don't take selfies I prob wouldn't have any of me and my kids as babies.

OH MY GOD. First day working from home and alex is crying all morning. He wants to be held. DH mentioned this yesterday but I've never had a problem putting him in his chairs or swings before.

Anyone else's kid(s) not taking long naps? S is awake an hour to an hour and a half and then will take a 40 min nap if I'm lucky and a 25 min nap if I'm not. She is in a pretty good mood when she wakes up, but it doesn't seem like enough sleep to me/it would be nice if I could nap too or get other stuff done.
emilie responding to your post from Monday yes baby bjorn bouncer. Love it!
requiressnacks sorry lady! Take yourself out to lunch somewhere nice please and enjoy your last day. It really does get easier once it becomes part of your routine.

Yes. The weekend was so bad. If he slept it was 15 min at the most. Dh got a 2 hr nap out of him yesterday. Luckily he is also, for the most part, happy. I've noticed he's been more interested in looking around at stuff so maybe that's it....too much learning going on.
dream2be3 all rice has arsenic on some level, it's the inorganic arsenic that had the potential to be bad. It has to do with how and where it's farmed. California rice has significantly less than foreign or southern and white rice has less then brown. Fda says a regular serving size of baby cereal is fine but to introduce other grains. The arsenic thing has been around for years, I'd be dead if it was really something serious since I can't a lot of other mainstream grains. I think fda changed some rules within the last year or so to drop the levels.
Dh is home until our solar panels get inspected so once this feed is over I'm going back to bed.

legalbeagle, Yes, that's all Jane has ever done during the day. I don't think she's ever slept more than an hour during the day but I don't track it that closely. When I'm home with her it's sort of like we fly by the seat of our pants. Probably why I have a tiny breakdown ever month or so. She does sleep at least 4 hours at a time at night though so I'm not worried.
requiressnacks, Your turn for the big hugs! It is so hard, but I did find a bit of guilty excitement to go somewhere alone. Even if it's shopping for clothes for Jane. LOL and I second the lunch on your own suggestion. That was so what I needed yesterday.
Jane slept on her own in a swaddle me swaddle all night last night. I put her in the rock and play next to my bed and only got her to eat when she wiggled and started waking up. We're no longer co-sleeping and DH can move back into the bedroom. I'm happy and sad about it. but it's really impossible to cuddle sleep when she's in that swaddle and this morning I laid her in the bassinet so I might just do the rock and play for naps and use the bassinet so we can get to crib better. I thought it was weird that our hospital said to not transition her to her own room until 6 months when it used to be 3. But really, they also said don't sleep with her and that went out the window. Suckers!
legalbeagle - we're in the same boat. She sleeps for really long stretches at night though so it's fine, but just really hard to get anything done when you're home alone with her.

Oh man. Glad S isn't a weirdo but sorry everyone else is going through this. I was reading on a sleep website that this is normal for newborns and they don't start consolidating naps until three months but sounds like some babies on here (ahem the bite-sized snacks) are good nappers. Kiddos slept from 7:40-1:40 last night. I wish it had been a bit later but she is getting better at night sleeping.
Ugh you guys I was just in the infant room at work and I wanted to stay and snuggle all the babies. Then they all started crying and I had to get the H out of there before my milk let down 😂.
You crack me up. If we had an infant room here I'd get nothing done.
legalbeagle my kid is a bad napper. She sleeps at night but naps... I get maybe an hour out of her. However, this no-nap thing will happen for a couple days, and then on the third day she will nap a lot, maybe to make up for it? I'm trying to encourage her naps to be more regular.
Anyone using a baby carrier yet? I'm not able to use a sling carrier due to some hip issues LO had at birth - her legs need to be out and not bunched up inside. I've tried a K'tan and a Bjorn and LO HATES both. She loves to be held/cuddled but the carrier is a huge nope for her right now. I wish she would spend some time in it, as it would be a lot easier to get some things done if I could wear her!
emilie Abigail only just started tolerating carriers within the last week. I think the big problem was that she always kept her legs out long so she never folded into the newborn holds so she's only just now really able to sit comfortably in the carriers with her legs out. Plus, the moby was giving me trouble. For the ergo I'm just using the pillow from the infant insert and got rid of the rest of the insert since it squished her. I'm easing her into it, we might take our walk today in the ergo instead of the stroller.

emilie, I've used my Ergo a few times and she seems to like it. Not sure if that would be an option for you, but I think it's one of those carriers worth the expense because it's versatile and has a high weight limit.

legalbeagle my LO does not do daytime napping very well. A good day is three naps about 40 minutes each. She almost never sleeps longer than that and some days it's only once or twice and with a lot of effort on my part to get her to sleep. She sleeps really well at night so I can't complain but it's hard to get much done during the day and she gets kind of grumpy in the evenings which I think would be better if she napped more. I keep working on it but not much progress yet.

catherineoctober I thought the swaddles were so weird before we had DS1. I got them with him and have used them since. They tried to fight it a bit, but sleep so well in then. Our pedi said the new AAP recommendation is for baby to me in your room for a year. Ha ha ha... yeah, no!

What do they know? I suggest they be in THEIR room for a year. 😁
emilie I had a bjorn a friend had and gave me with DS1. I used it for a bit with him, but once he got a bit bigger it wasn't comfortable for my back. I got an Ergo at that point and have loved it since. Google to see if you can find a baby wearing group near you that you can try them on. Does anybody remember what it's called?
