1. Blah. 2. I have 2 new hires I'm doing orientation for this morning. It messes with my messageboard time. 3. The roads were still pretty crappy up north so the drive to work was stressful. 4. DD is feeling better and acting more like herself again. 5. Getting my hair done on Saturday and very excited about it. 6. Finally getting some responses from reaching out to HR business leaders at my work and am scheduling meetings. Crossing my fingers that something comes of it eventually or that at the very least, I'm making a good impression on some of these people for future openings. 7. I'm going to make a Target run on my lunch break. 8. Target runs always get me into trouble. 9. DH will be out of town for work for a few days the first week of March. Not looking forward to it. 10. That's all I got.

1. DS is currently undoing the ties on the guardrail and gumming them:
2. I didn't want to do this until we move in June, but I'm buying one of those six panel play gates to contain DS. He wants to be mobile and practice standing and walking, & I can't keep chasing after him all day.
3. I'm so freaking sleepy that if DS gives me shit about his nap today I will scream. Mama needs to nap too right now.
4. When I was in Miami I let a girlfriend of mine that had a baby girl in Jan. pick out one of my teething necklaces, and now that's the same one someone wants to buy, so I'm scrambling to get new supplies in to make it for her.
5. DH has been on my nerves since getting back.
6. DS is going to be a menace. Is it just my kid that looks and me and laughs when I try to "discipline" him? By discipline I mean telling him no, shooing him away from things, etc.
7. Ladies that have had your homes built for you, advice, suggestions, tips? Right now we have to rent for the next year because we won't have a new home built before our lease is up, but the following year I want to buy a house.
8. Can I go punch my husband in the face? I can hear him snoring while I watch DS play in the nursery.
9. I put ground beef to defrost... what should I make?

sstwinklinglites We built with Ryan Homes and have been very happy with them. They have several options for neighborhoods all throughout the Cincy area. I would definitely recommend them! Many of them will offer certain upgrades included in the price of your home as an incentive to buy. We got basically our entire kitchen (granite countertops, 42" cabinets, stainless steel appliances) basically for free. Picking out the stuff is loads of fun but can be stressful. Let me know if you guys decide to go that route and I can give you more specific pointers!

Thanks. I'm going to look into them. I have to figure out if it's better for us to go new construction or not. But I would love a house built to my specifications.
My sister had two different homes built by drees. She never said anything bad about them. They're big around here. However, finding a new construction that's been built and had everything you want is way cheaper than building to your exact specs. There isn't too much choice when picking things except for maybe dark stain/ light stain, and grey tile versus beige... I would just find a home you like the layout of and negotiate the price down. I know on her first home- she didn't build it from ground up, it was a sitting new construction that was almost done. So she actually did get to pick the tile and her granite. And got about $100,000 off the price by negotiating since they were building an entire neighborhood. But it depends on the area and if houses are selling quickly there or not.
Also sstwinklinglites. While you were gone I tried to post in the mod station about getting us a private group, since I had seen someone mention having one on parenting. The thread got overlooked and no one responded. But I was thinking maybe you could see if you could get anyone to help. I hate bugging theo since she is doing a lot for this board already with the naming and everything right now.

1. I'm excited we finally got a big snowfall. YIPPEE!!! 2. Our cafeteria didn't have tomato soup today, so I had to settle for mystery chicken/veggie soup with my grilled cheese. 3. I think my boobs are finally shrinking. 4. M hasn't nursed in almost 2 weeks. I think we are officially weaned. 5. Our last nursing session was a good one, which I'm thankful for because he has been tearing up my nips these last few months. It was like the boy forgot how to latch. 6. I think I figured out my mystery soup. It might be gumbo, in honor of black history month. 7. The MOB for the bachelorette party I'm going to is going to be there and I'm dreading it. My friend is semi close with her mom, but her mom is a terrible drunk and they always end up fighting when she drinks. Maybe she will get lost in the casino??? 8. They should make special bubbles for people that sing at work. 9. I don't want to listen to music right now, but I have my ear buds in so I can ignore anyone that isn't willing to walk over to my desk if they need something. 10. M hates the snow. He screamed bloody murder when I tried to give him a bowl to play with and when I took him out in the snow. #notmychild.
ladytiffany24 I think wine festival is the first week/weekend in March. Kroger sells discount tickets, I think.

sstwinklinglites we built our home with Fischer Homes. I believe they are a good company but I had a couple annoying things happen that I will share. First, we worked with a realtor but then also a sales rep at Fischer Homes. We picked all our finishes out with the sales rep at Fischer and I didn't realize that she has choose the wrong flooring in our bathrooms. I didn't realize it until the flooring was already down and they would not change it. The sales rep was very apologetic and gave us a gift card at closing, but Fischer would not bend at all. Also, we tested for radon and found that the levels were high, Fischer was supposed to fix it but we were outside of the 30 day time frame to notify them about it, probably by like 15 days. Again, they would not bend at all, I talked to several different people at the company and all were apologetic but said they couldn't do anything because it was outside of the specified time frame. I can see where they are coming from, but from my end it felt like very crappy customer service. That being said, we've had no issues with the house construction-wise, we've been there for 3 years. +1 for what becole said, look into a market home. Our neighbor bought a market home, but she also negotiated a lot of things, i.e. sod and changes in some of the finishes. If the house sits long enough they we probably be happy to move it and thus work with you on price. There are quite a few Fischer home developments on the East Side of town which I think you mentioned before. We loooove our neighborhood, super kid friendly with walking trails, greenspace, playground and pool. GL!

1. LO decided he wanted to wake up at 4 am for a snack and then refused to go back into the crib so he slept on me for a couple of hours.
2. I'm getting my hair done on Saturday. Probably will go with darker highlights again.
3. Curious what I would look like with dark hair, but afraid I would hate it, and it would never be the same again.
4. The drive into work wasn't too bad, but I'm glad I didn't have to get on I-75 or I-71.
5. Figuring out LO's first birthday theme. Construction, farm animals, dinosaurs, circus? I think we could have cute food and decorations with any of them. I need to order invites soon. Opinions? Something I haven't considered?
6. Will probably stuff everyone in our small house. Figuring out how to make best use of the space. Maybe we can use the garage for overflow and just open the door so the heat goes out there and relocate some of our furniture to the unfinished side of the basement. Then we might be able to use the patio if it's warm enough.

1. Cannot wait to get out of this cold! 2. DD and I are flying to FL next Monday for the week to visit with fam and go to my bff's baby shower. 3. I'm taking a day trip tomorrow to Louisville for work, excited to be getting out and doing something different for a day. 4. I can't wait for the warm weather in FL to actually take DD for a walk. 5. There is a mom in my neighborhood who took her baby out for a walk yesterday in the snow (covered up obviously)! I thought she was crazy but then I remembered she is from Russia so this is probably nothing to her. 6. I can't think of anything else and I probably need to get some work done.....

becole - Thanks for the info. I know I have a lot of research to do. But I've got a year to figure out how we want to proceed. I have to look at the median cost of houses that I would buy off someone, versus new construction that's already standing, versus built to specs, maybe the difference is not significant enough to sway us one way or another. I kinda like older houses also, and then take the time to upgrade the kitchen and bathrooms.

We should get all the Fla mamas (and non - Fla mamas too), for a trip to Key West. Realistically, I know we'd never pull it off, but imagine... debauchery all wknd. long. Snorkeling, drinking, drinking, drinking.

mom2boxers - We did a baseball theme for my son's first birthday and had everyone wear their favorite team. We had a Reds cake made and did hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos. Not exactly healthy but it went over well with kids and adults. Construction was our other choice if baseball hadn't worked out.
