I've got a baby on me and don't want to put him down. I just want to hug him, & squeeze him, & love him, & call him george. Esp since he smells so good after his bath.
Question for those of you who need baby on an overnight schedule - do you offer a dream feed? Or just let them do their thing and wake up for the day at a set time?
Baby sleeps from 9pm - 4 or 6 am most nights. We feed her and put back to bed until 7:30 am.
Starting in a couple of weeks, I need her up and eating around 6:45, knowing she won't have another opportunity to eat until about 9. Even when she eats at 4am, she often isn't ready for her bottle right away when she wakes up for the day.
Thoughts on offering a bottle at 11pm instead? Her last bottle of the day is usually around 8pm. I hate to mess with her since she's so consistent, but I don't want her screaming for a bottle when she can't get one.
Winnifred, will she do the dream part of the dream feed? I keep thinking if I try to Abigail will just wake up and not go back down.
Our house is so cold this morning, I'm starting to think that our nest is broken. It was not 72 when we got up. Here's Abigail from last night, we had a little fun with daddy's glasses after bathtime. I love the grumpy boss faces
I'm in seriously denial that Hazel is 4 months. She has discovered her tongue so she loves blowing spit bubbles and she's noticing her toys so she's batting at those more when she's on her playmat. I'm curious to see how big she is at her appointment next Monday. And an outtake It's hard working being 4 months old

I have no idea since we've never done it before! She often falls asleep while eating and continues to eat, but lately she's been falling asleep hard and just stops eating.
It seems weird to me to set an alarm for 3:30 or 4am to ensure that she stays on a schedule and gets enough to eat. That's the alternative I'm wondering about. She's doing so well that any forced change just feels counterproductive.

I'm at work today! And ::not shocking:: nothing has really changed here. Today was much easier than yesterday because my MIL does Wednesdays. I only cried a little when I was saying goodbye. Then I put on my favorite podcast and enjoyed my quiet ride to work.

Winnifred, I've dabbled in the dream feed, but it never really made much difference for us. My littles go to bed around 7:30 and I have done a dream feed (~3-4oz) around 10:30/11 and they STILL wake up around 3/4a to eat again. Part of it is probably habit, but I am not at the point where I would deny them food. So basically I stopped dream feeding and I just get a good feed in overnight. And then I can go to bed early if I want.
mrsp121308 N has discovered his tongue too, it cracks me up.
Anyone else have a thumb sucker? While I'd prefer a pacifier bc you can take them away, my kids never seem to like them. N keeps trying to put his whole fist in his mouth and then once he gets some fingers in there he looks so disgusted lol.
Yep. Alex loves to suck his thumb, hand, any finger he can get in there. No look of disgust, he goes to town on it. I also try to take it out and replace it with his paci. Usually he takes it if he's been sucking on his hand. It's when he's not and I try to give him the paci to calm him down or get him to sleep that he spits it out or gags.
Well I was right, something is wrong with our nest thermostat. It must have had a short last night because it kept turning on the ac to cycle! Dh unplugged the ac wiring and it turns out it wasn't 72 it was 65. I have been telling him for weeks that it hasn't felt warm enough in the house, he thinks the actual unit is overheating so it thinks it's warm in here. I enjoy being right.
Also, bought DD for the family this morning and got an extra donut by mistake. I brought it to work for after lunch. It's gone now.
We don't have DD where I live and it always takes me a few beats to realize you are talking about dunkin and not dear daughter, lol. It really changes the meaning of the sentence.
Ok, I'm bored now. Can I go home and hang out with my babies?
I know. I can't concentrate this morning. Glad to be WFH the next 2 days. I'll be working on my resume. As long as I can get things done today.
I'm supposed to be WFH on Fridays now. I almost considered skipping this Friday and going into the office, since it's a short week for me, but I don't think I'm going to.
Hello ladies! Hope you don't mind me jumping back in. Life kind of fell apart three months ago, but is now slowly getting back together. I've enjoyed popping in and reading/looking at your adorable photos these past few months. I cannot believe how big everyone's babies are getting, so adorable!

Jump in! Good to see you back and hope things cont to get better!
I got my bonus! I am so freaking happy/relieved. I'd like to use some for the baptism but mostly save it so I know I can pay DC without a problem. Sad but true.
As a little splurge I'd like to go out to my fav steakhouse. Just need to find someone willing to babysit both kids.

I've been on the couch most of the day because I caught the cold that my girls are getting over. DD1 switched her preschool days today though, so that gave me at least a little bit of a break with her being there for the morning. She used to go Tues/Thur in the afternoon, but now she's going Mon/Wed/Fri in the morning. One of her friends from the Tues/Thur class switched too, so I'm happy about that. I'm jealous of everyone with babies who sleep well. Nolan is still waking up an average of 4x per night. Half the time he's not even hungry; he just has gas or reflux. I'm having flashbacks to when DD2 was a baby because she would wake up every 2 hours until I gave her the boot from my room when she was a year old. Hopefully Nolan will get with the picture soon because I was getting pretty delirious by the time we hit DD2's 4 month sleep regression.
