Also C figured out how to get out of her sleepsack last night and proceeded to take it off and her pants. It is not warm enough to sleep like that and I don't know what to do now.
R does this also. But we have a heater in his room since we like it cold at night. He takes it off once he is done sleeping for the night or nap time. The other morning I went to go get him and he was just standing there is his diaper cause he figured out to get his footed pjs off.
Thanks guys. We are at the pedi now. She is very perky for having such a high fever. We shall see.
goodluck! I hope everything turns out ok. FWIW, when I had the flu last week my first symptoms were a dry cough and a fever... the body aches came shortly after that. I reeeeally hope it's not the flu in your case
They did a strep test but we won't know anything for a few days. She didn't even mention flu. The fever is down to 99 right now. Fingers crossed it's just a 24 hour thing!
I'm so irritated right now. A coworker and I both went for a promotion. She made the comment to me today, "Gee I would feel so bad if I got that job over you since you are going to be out on maternity leave for months. I hope they don't hold that against you." Neither of us got the promotion, someone stepped down and took it. Now someone else was terminated leaving a different promotion over that she feels she should get as well. The comment was a blanket statement about both openings and for some reason it's really fucking bugging me.
It bugs me because it feels sexist. I think becoming a mother exposed me to much more sexism than I had before. And I'm a child psychologist. You would think people would have been more understanding.

Yes! Being a mom has really changed things and opened up a another side of my professional life (not necessarily in a good way).

I managed to get a quick grocery shopping trip while MH was on his break. It's super warm out but raining so I can't take G out to play. Too much mud and not enough time to clean up after that. We are watching Daniel Tiger until I have to get up and cook. I spoke to my pedi about getting G evaluated for speech. He said he would rather wait until she is two because she may become more verbal before then. I will say that she has started saying a lot more in past two weeks than she ever has. I will see what he says about it in May but I already have EI phone number ready to go.
My normal days were already boring, now I get to spend ages sitting on a stool while Ds is on the potty. I really don't have anything else to add to a conversation.
So two of my closest friends who I haven't seen in too long suggested girls day on Saturday.
I'm totally up for it and would love to spend time with them.
My only issue is the night. They want to go out to the bars and drink the night away after a day of shopping and what not.
I just...don't want to go out drinking! Before we had C I wasn't much of a drinker and was thankful during my pregnancy I had a reason to say 'nope!' Without getting side eyed.
Am I a huge party pooper if I partake in daytime activities and not nighttime shenanigans?
Sounds like fun! I rarely see my friends these days. If they're true friends, they should understand and respect your decision to go home whenever you want.
I am a consigner in my local huge baby/kid sale. Tonight was the first night of the sale and I'm stalking their website to see if anything of mine sold yet. The information hasn't been uploaded to the site yet and it's driving me crazy.
Oh and it looks like DS is allergic to walnuts. I have him some dairy free Chunky Monkey tonight and usually I pick out the walnuts and chocolate chunks since DS doesn't like them. Well, he must've eaten a walnut because after he was done eating, he had red splotches with bumps around his mouth.

Hope everyone who is unwell feels better soon.
Ugh. This really is awful. Sitting and trying to get them to focus on going to the bathroom instead of touching everything.
Tonight C insisted on sitting on the potty then proceeded to ask 'what's that' about EVERY SINGLE SPECK OF ANYTHING she could see in the bathroom.
Yeah he tries to grab hold of everything and is constantly pulling open the cupboard doors. At least we're having some success.

I think your friends should be able to accept that you don't want to go out and get drunk and it's not like you won't be spending any time with them at all. I say go out, have some fun and go home when you feel you want to.

I hope that's as bad as it gets and tat it clears soon.

I'm like you and wasn't a big drinker before I had kids and now I just don't want to. I went to the bar with some friends a few weeks ago and I regretted it. It was boring, loud, and I was cranky by the end. It was refreshing or good use of my night out. If i were you, I would do the daytime activities and bail.

If it makes you feel better, I've seen lots of kiddos who had a speech explosion around 2 after parents were concerned about the lack of speech development. But it never hurts to get evaluated
