It's my birthday today, not meant as a brag. But it's 720 and still no Happy Birthday from H. That's rude right?
First, happy birthday!!
Second, this would be grounds for a major argument with DH. I can't even fathom how I would feel if he forgot my birthday. I'm sorry, that really sucks.
He made it with the kids. We both work so he leaves before me and gets home before me. I messaged him on his bday and also said in person when saw. He never did. The kids showed me the cake since they were excited about it. He stayed in living room as they did. Here's cake...Kids helped too
bliz1712, the cake is a nice thought and also to do with the kids. He could have shot you a text during the day or a quick call though. Happy birthday! Hope the cake was yummy!
I'm pretty much ready to have this Mirena taken out. 😐
I'm sorry. I have heard of people not liking it, personally I loved it. But I'm also very happy to have H getting a vasectomy so I don't have to go back on anything... so there's that. I think I liked it most because it was effective for 2 1/2 years without any scares. Sorry again my friend, you jumped through hoops to get it.

I thought your H was getting the procedure done?
Dh says he's getting snipped, but so far all he's done is figure out that he can have it done at Kaiser and not have to go to another place. He is dragging his feet majorly. I stopped asking him about it.
I love not having a period and the birth control part, but I'm struggling with acne and major bloating and weight gain. I'm blaming the Mirena, but it could realistically be stress considering the shitastic last 6 months we've had. I'm holding out as long as I can, but today I'm feeling huge, bloated and my chin is breaking out badly. I made Dh tell me I was pretty like 9 times 😂

Sorry. My OB and I discussed BC for after this baby is out, and I'm considering the Skyla IUD. I don't remember why you chose the Mirena, but do you have other options? I know what a PITA it was for you to even get this authorized by insurance.

The only two iud options my ob offered were Mirena and Paragaurd. I went with Mirena because I needed help with heavy bleeding (that's the medical reason my insurance covered it, though I haven't gotten final word that they actually did cover it, so). It was a total PITA but I feel worth it. I mean how do you know until you try?

Totally worth it. How long has it been now? With the three options we discussed it seemed the threshold for things to start regulating was six months, and by a year women whose periods would stop had ceased at that point (we talked Paraguard, Mirena, & Skyla).

I got it in early November, so just about 5 months. I had one heavy period, one light period and then no more. That almost makes everything worth it, honestly. To go from horrible AF to none is like a miracle. I'm holding out until 6 months at least, my ob said exactly what yours did. I'm just over it today because I feel sooooo gross.
Has anyone given their child Tamiflu? DS1 has the flu and we caught it early so they prescribed it. It tastes awful and it took us almost an hour last night to get him to take the 2nd dose (out of 10).
Then 2 hours later he woke up and threw it all back up and screamed the whole time no more medicine. He also woke up a few times after saying weird things like he was still dreaming but his eyes were open and he was awake.
His fever broke around the time he vomited so it wasn't feverish dreams. Have any other LOs gotten any of the strange side effects from Tamiflu?
I'm going to call his ped today because I'm not sure if it was Tamiflu or the actual flu making him act so strange last night. Also, not sure if it's worth the fight to get him to take 4 more days of this medicine for a slight decrease in days of symptoms.

I thought the advice was not to give it to young children because the side effects can be worse than the flu. Plus is only lessons the length of the illness by like a day.

From what I was taught at work (hospital) tamiflu may shorten flu symptoms by 1-2 days.
Our pediatrician won't prescribe it for kids bc the risk of nasty side effects (nausea/vomiting). Don't recall anything about nightmares or not.
I'm sorry he is feeling so crappy. I hope he feels better soon.

Don't pull it!!! You've almost made it past the hump of regulating in your body and your period free. I had it for 5 years and was able to lose weight over that time. I know everyone is different but I would keep it since you've made it past the crampy sucky part.
