So sorry you guys had such a fright! I hope all is ok and that L is with you now. Has C met his little sister yet?
He came for a visit yesterday and was able to look at her in the incubator. It was a very "wtf is that giant meatball doing in that pod and why are we looking at it" reaction. I wasn't there for it but MIL got some good pictures. We are holding off on their real meeting until we can all be together.
L is still in NICU. She is doing really well and I was able to walk there myself earlier. The doctor is being super cautious and keeping her longer. Possibly until tomorrow morning. The nurses think it is ridiculous and are doing everything they can to make it happen sooner. They've been amazing. I can't be mad at a thorough doctor but I am dying at all the "should be released at xyz time!" Updates and then being heartbroken.

I'm sorry they are putting you are going through this. The NICU wait is the awful.
We are home! L stayed in NICU for our entire stay. They discharged her in time to come to our room to be dressed and carseat check done.
We have to take her back tomorrow morning for a blood draw and consult. She has an allele (that I cannot remember the name of) that can cause her red blood cells to degrade. They want to follow up on that, as well as her bilirubin levels and other usual stuff.
AFM, I have to go back for a brain wave scan and then follow up with the neurologist again.
I am healing really well from surgery. Still feeling it but managing fine with Tylenol and advil. I am loving not having my lady bits in disarray. So. Much.
C is pretty much shunning me right now which makes me really sad but I am just trying to act normally and believe it'll pass.
So glad you're all home! I am sure C will adjust to L and you being her mama too.
Good luck with all the tests. Is your H home with you for a few days?
He is, thankfully! He has all of next week off and his work has told him to just let them know if he needs more time than that. Luckily they are a pretty family friendly employer so he has flexibility. It'd just be unpaid time unless he used up more vacation pay.
Most of the exciting stuff I've already posted about in this thread so I won't repeat it all but here are the missing pieces.
H and I got up early to head in for my scheduled cesarean. He brought C to me for a snuggle and goodbye, my mom took over with C and we headed out.
Of course we stopped at Tim Hortons for my H.
I was very nervous but just ready to be done and to meet our girl. I could not stay out of the bathroom. I kept feeling like I had to go but just couldn't. The last time I went to the washroom was about 5mins before being taken into the OR and I had my bloody show. I'm calling this c-section perfectly timed.
I had the most amazing nurse. She made me feel so comfortable and I love her forever for it. Right as the anesthesiologist was about to apply the local, a nurse rushed in and told him to wait. A woman just came in at 29w, fully dilated with bulging membranes. Turns out she was in the room next to where my H was still waiting so he told me what he heard on his end afterwards. Apparently it was FAST. I wish I could say that I knew how baby was doing but they were sent to another hospital shortly after my section.
Back in the OR, my nurse wrapped me up in a warm blanket and gave me a bear hug then went over my chart while we waited.
After that it was all pretty routine. At one point I was really nauseous and gagging so they administered gravol. I was also super drowsy at another point and nearly fell asleep.
My OB held L over the drape so I could see her face and it was de ja vu. She looks so much like C. She wasn't able to clear her lungs on her own so they suctioned and left a tube in to keep clearing it. Her oxygen levels were fluctuating around normal and would not stabilize so they had to take her to NICU after skin to skin didn't help regulate things.
You guys know the rest after that, so here's a pic! 4 days old.
And for fun, comparison between her and C. C is hours old in this vs L is 4 days.
She's so beautiful obi! Perfect little complement to C. They look so similar!
So glad you're home and all is well. Not sure if you're home home or at your mom's still but it was quite an eventful night around our parts last night so I hope it didn't disturb you guys.

I've been gone a long time! Congrats friend. Sorry it was a little rough but what a perfect little peanut. I hope C starts getting used to the change quickly.
