Thanks meagpt22 and joy. It's not that I'm upset about giving them formula; we have supplemented occasionally when travelling and they're still getting mostly breastmilk. I'm upset because I think this is the beginning of the end of our breastfeeding journey. Which I knew was a possibility when I agreed to all this travel, but it's still hard. I'm so proud of what I was able to accomplish and I met my goal of 6 months.
I'm also really upset that my babies were hungry and I didn't know. I am the one who spends the most time with them so I feel responsible when their needs aren't met.

Boca, you are such an amazing mom!!!
FWIW, my pediatrician said that many mom's experience supply decrease at or around 6 months. The AAP recommends bfing for 6 months (as opposed to the WHO which recommends a year). This is from when I was trying to BF/EP.
I was gone this weekend for a moms' weekend in Sonoma/Napa. It was so much fun and I pumped just enough. My mom and H took care of the kids. My mom said when I was gone, R kept looking for me and saying, "mama." I will believe that it was his first word and he meant it.
Be still my heart.
I'm still waiting for this. Ex got the first mamamama from LO but luckily for me, all of his "words" are just random utterances. I keep pointing to myself and repeating when he says it but he hasn't connected the dots. Dadadada seems to be his favorite. It means...everything lol.
bocaburger, you are amazing and if you have tried to feed them every hour then you were trying to full fill their need. Don't beat yourself up! It could have happened even if they were on formula, babies are getting more active now too and so can loose some weight. I am totally impressed you have managed to BF the twins. I never ended up trying due to other reasons but you are awsome to have done it and you still can. Maybe your supply can bounce back, but ypu have done so well!

And now there's more. Sorry to be such a downer. I had a massage and chiropractor appt this morning that I absolutely NEEDED. I am in so. Much. Pain. I had to get up hours earlier than normal to get ready and pump to get there on time. Then they texted me while I was on my way telling me the massage therapist wouldn't be there today and we have to reschedule. Fml.

I haven't been around in a while - just craziness with a massive project and various other deadlines.
Baby A has had goopy eyes for like 2 days. massive amounts of greenish-yellow eye boogers. My doc called in the prescription for the eye drops and I've started giving them to her, but under one of her eyes is really red and swollen too. Is that just part of the eye infection? It's almost like she rubbed or scratched it too hard.

Speaking as the lady who went to Urgent Care on Valentin's Day evening wearing sunglasses due to a massive double eye infection - yes, red and swollen is 100% due to the infection.

That sounds about right. Ds2 has had 2 eye infections and he gets super red and puffy around them in addition to all the discharge. They also seemed irritated from me wiping them. His would seal shut when he slept, so I had to use a warm wet washcloth to re-open them.
bocaburger , hannahbear , frodabaggins , N was the most adorable puppy at the synagogue's Purim carnival. It goes without saying that L was a princess with the tiara, gown, slippers and wand. She has very indulgent grandparents who bought it for her.
I don't usually post about family drama and I may DD this paragraph later but i need to get this off my chest. A little background: DH's parents were divorced when he was a small child and he didn't have a relationship with his dad until 2007. The women my children think of grandma and great grandma have no biological connection to them. One of my SILs, with whom I once had a very good relationship is upset with how generous and attached they are to my kids.
I received a text from her today telling me she's pregnant even though the pee stick isn't dry yet. She said that 'L and N will have competition starting around Thanksgiving' because she's having a baby. Based in a discussion we had around New Years, her husband definitely didn't want children for awhile but she insisted it would make things better between them. Truthfully I'm also a bit envious that she conceived so easily when I had such a long and painful road to complete my family. She is a brilliant mathematician with a PhD from Stanford and has led what time looks like a very charmed life.

blueinred 1. That's sad that SIL thinks a baby will help them (experience says children makes things harder) 2. A competition..really?! I'd hope the family would treat all the kids equally 3. Sorry you are struggling with how easy her conception was
blueinred that would annoy me also. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. And for the sake of the child, I sincerely hope it was a joint decision with the husband. Babies definitely aren't in the business of fixing marital issues.
I'm sick. LO is sick. And of course, I got my first pp period.
I don't think LO has ever seen or heard me blow my nose. He jumps up and stares in bewilderment everytime. It's super cute, but I still feel like death warmed over. Twice.

shehulk723 I'm so sorry. I wish I was nearby and could help. I hope things turn around soon.
DS has 3 hour wake times and is inconsistently napping for 30-90 min. He's army crawling, is trying to crawl and has two teeth. He's so interactive, I love it.
He's also got some bad separation anxiety and has gone from sleeping 12 hours straight to up 3-4 times a night. H is in the water with him for swimming lessons and we actually left halfway through the lesson this week because DS wouldn't stop screaming until I had him. Looks like I'm back to getting in with him for a bit (which I secretly missed and not so secretly didn't miss).
shehulk723, hun - please remember to take care of you. I know a lot of other people in your life need you, but they need a healthy you. I'm so so sorry that it's such a shit time. ::hugs::
