I have no idea what we're doing for w's 2nd birthday. We didn't get to celebrate his first one so I'd like to do something with friends and family. But I have no idea on theme.
I decided after M's party last year that we're not doing one again for a few years. Instead we're going to take a trip, packmomma and family will be joining us this year. We love to travel, so this is very appropriate for our family.
@poppykisses I'll post pics once we start getting things installed! We have some demo to do first, and my husband's work & class schedule means not much time to work on it.
Today we're walking a 5k. We're part ood the team for my work and med you be there at 12:45 to do team picture at 1. So this totally fucks up nap time. I'm going to try and get M to nap early. Totally just going to have to roll with it today. Poor kid, we keep messing with his sleep this weekend.
N's first birthday was pretty big and at our house. Since people (his mom) stayed way too late and got drunk, it will no longer be at our house. It's going to be tractor/farm themed and at a park! I will be doing the least.
I decided on A's 2nd birthday theme and I've been spiraling down the Pinterest Rabbit Hole since 5am. Help.
Lol what's the theme?
Ocean/Under the Sea but trying to stay away from Mermaids. I noticed a lot of Pinterest searches turned Mermaid-y very fast and it's not that I don't like them.. it's just that I want fish and animals and bubbles.. etc... more than a mythical creature.
th3stryck3r have you guys watched this week's Sesame Street? Zoe's voice is different and it's driving me bonkers. I have all the feels about Sesame Street 😂
My dad went to the ER again last night. He fell outside on a walk. He said his legs were weak and then he couldn't get up. He wasn't admitted and seems somewhat better but I don't know what is going on.
Lots of work needs to get done today but hoping for something fun too.
We are doing some sort of owl theme for DD2's second birthday because she is weirdly obsessed with them. It started with a stuffed animal when she was 6 months old that she's slept with ever since. Owl was her first word and she goes absolutely bonkers whenever she sees anything owl. She'll bring us books and scream "owl!" while we search through them to try to find an owl (there are a lot of owls in children's books oddly enough). She now has at least 6 owl stuffed animals and her PBK anywhere chair has an owl on it. We are definitely feeding the obsession I've been pinning batter bowl owl cakes for a few weeks now. Trying to find one that doesn't involve fondant but still looks good.
DS just learned the word owl. DH says, what goes hoo, hoo. And he says "owl". I love it.
He comes home Wednesday ampaints. Mil is hanging in there. I don't get details, when I ask the reply is, she's good. But she's not which is why h flew up.
I put together a bunch of pictures for h's uncle. We all look nice. And now. I'm listening to the "Fuck that" meditation before we leave. youtu.be/92i5m3tV5XY
We are back from Florida and had an awesome vacation. I love the fact that FIL moved to Florida! We spent 2 days on Siesta Key beach which is beautiful and the kids had a blast! The weather was perfect and the water was actually warm enough to go in this year. It was Abigail's first real experience with the sand and she was confused at first but then spent hours scooping up sand with her shovel and dumping it in the buckets. The big kids loved the waves and playing at the water's edge. That beach is ideal for little ones since it's shallow for a long way out in the water before it starts to get deeper.
We went to the pool on our non-beach days and Abigail is now totally comfortable jumping in and going under briefly. It's so cool to watch! All the old people around us were amazed she could do that and come up smiling and asking for more. I feel like that's all we did!
We also got in a short visit with my great-aunt and uncle in Sanibel. They were super excited to see us as they rarely get visitors and aren't really able to travel anymore. All in all we had a great trip.
It's back to reality today. I've spent the day unpacking and doing laundry. Happy Sunday everyone!
