What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a bunch of bananas
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl
Name? Charlotte- we finally agreed and decided
Any upcoming appointments this week? Not this week, but next week. I will be getting my glucose test done sometime this week.
Any new symptoms or changes? Groin pain in the evening and lots of BH. Some of the BH were actually a little painful yesterday. I think they are stress related.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Just feeling more and more pregnant. Definitely feeling more uncomfortable but I know the next couple months will fly by.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Not much. I went through some more baby stuff in the basement and will probably start washing/putting away baby gear in our room soon. I just don't want to wait until I'm 9 months pregnant to do this because I know how much I won't want to do it then.
GTKY: favorite color- I really love blues and purples.
How far along are you? 26 weeks, last week of 2nd tri!!!
What's new with baby (size, development)? Eggplant! 9.5 inches and 2 whole pounds!
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy!
Name? Eli
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope, none for a few weeks
Any new symptoms or changes? Just still dealing with Charlie Horses.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Really enjoying the calm and nothingness of 2nd tri. There are still times and days I forget I am even pregnant! And Rave for still being able to stomach sleep!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Getting all the paperwork together to purchase our house Nothing much can be done until April when we move.

How far along are you? 26 weeks
What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a bunch of kale. Starting to practice breathing, better hearing, and his testicles have started descending... lol
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy!
Name?
Any upcoming appointments this week? No, had it last week.
Any new symptoms or changes? Yesterday my pubic area had moments where it was pretty painful, mostly after sitting on our hard dining room chairs. I hope it was a one day thing. I've feared the return of this pain long before I even got pregnant. It's one of the reasons we held off so long on #2. Also getting even more restless when sleeping at night. I have to switch sides a lot, but rolling over causes RLP so that sucks major. And the peeing. I managed to pee 3 times the other night even though I had nothing to drink during that time. How is that even possible??
Rants/Raves/Questions? I started Zantac and it's been amaziiiiing. I tried to hold out since I prefer not to use a daily med if I don't have to, but it has been a total game changer. I've been using the regular strength just once a day and using Tums for backup and it is way more manageable now.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Not much. We wanted to paint this weekend, but it was waaaay too cold outside so we didn't want to open windows for ventilation. It will have to wait until another time.
GTKY: favorite color yellow, but I cant wear yellow because it looks bad on me.

How far along are you? 24 weeks on wednesday (3/8)
What's new with baby (size, development)? Baby will be the size of a pringles can.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name? We have a list of about 10 possibilities. Hoping to narrow that to 2-3 before birth.
Any upcoming appointments this week? 24 week checkup tomorrow
Any new symptoms or changes? feeling really good! i have that 2nd tri energy which is great. The heartburn is kicking my butt though.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really a rant, but More a fear. I'm getting nervous about the delivery. I had an awful emergency c-section with DS. And a ton of post c-section complications. I'm trying for a VBAC this time, but I'm so scared something is going to go wrong and cause another section. I basically have PTSD (literally) from my experience. I'm just getting scared again.
A Rave: DS is so excited about his baby brother (he will be 3 just before my EDD. Tonight he was able to feel the baby move for the first time. He laughed and said "He's hitting me! I like my baby brother. He's soooo cute!" Lol. It was adorable.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? I put together a small registry, mostly for the completion discount and in case anyone asks. I really only need a few things since we already have a baby of the same sex and this one will be born in the same month/season.
What's new with baby (size, development)? bunch of bananas
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name? starting to feel like this LO will never have a name
Any upcoming appointments this week? GTT and Rhogam shot next week
Any new symptoms or changes? Nope, feeling ok!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Holy sh*t how did we get to 3rd tri already?!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? My work surprised with my double stroller! I took it for a spin (as a single) with DD this weekend. Love it!
violetrose, love Charlotte! Beautiful name. brandiewine11, yikes! I'm sorry about your anxiety about birth. I hope everything stays uneventful for you and you are able to have the VBAC you are hoping for

brandiewine11, I had an emergency c-section with DS with some of the PTSD. When we were considering our options this time around, both seemed to have their scary feels. Ultimately we decided that the RCS was better for us, but I also realized that with a VBAC, the doctors and nurses are so experienced that you trust them to guide you through it. And every birthing experience is different. So trust your instincts!

How far? 27w
What's new with baby? Size=camping lantern. Last ultrasound looked good size wise. I think she was measuring 1lb 12oz (33 percentile) but I might have gotten the oz wrong as the tech said it quickly.
Boy/girl/etc? Girl
Name? Have one name but not 100% until she arrives and we are not sharing with family or friends
Upcoming appts? None til 3/21
New symptoms? Im slowing down and my vagina feels like it's being pulled apart like a wishbone. I feel like acid reflux is creeping up all the time
Rants/raves? STILL having sinus issues, ear blockage and I'm over it. NBR but I'm also frustrated that DH is so infatuated with his work that he pretends I'm not pregnant. I wish he was the type who would be like "you had a rough week, why don't you sleep in and I'll handle DS". He now claims he has to work Saturday's (from home) so he won't even take DS to the gym, and DS asks every weekend. Then I get home from the gym and he's on his ass watching TV like "they don't seem to need my help at work so far". He just got a big raise which I'm thankful for, so I feel like I can't be a bitch about it, but baby's not even here yet and he's already in full on selfish mode. Then we fought Saturday because he woke up all pissy about work issues and then claimed I could be more sympathetic to what he's dealing with. Um hello? Why is this backwards?? I have a full time job too! And I'm growing a child! *end rant*
Something new? DS is in his new room now sorting through hand me downs and getting motivated to choose paint for nursery
GTKY: since I'm 3 week behind here I'll answer past weeks too Fav jam: I don't eat jelly or jam Dream vacay: I love key west Favorite color: hmmm probably purple!
starsandshamrocks123 my DH sometimes acts like his job is more important too. Our solution to sleeping in is that he sleeps in every Saturday and I sleep in every Sunday, end of story. DD comes over to my side of the bed and I send her to him on Sundays. Even if I can't go back to sleep I lay in bed and relax or read. Once baby is born I'll end up keeping him or her with me on Sundays while he gets the big kids up.
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015
brandiewine11 it sucks that you had such a bad birth experience last time, would it be worth talking to your doctor/nurses about it before your birth so that you can make sure that this birth is trigger free (I'm a FTM so that might not be helpful)

starsandshamrocks123 - I'm sorry YH is being a jerk about work. MH does this to a smaller extent, but it is so frustrating! I'm doing pretty much everything around the house and with DS. I made a chore schedule for the week, which makes keeping track of everything a little easier (and means if MH asks why something isn't done, I can point to the schedule for when it'll happen).

My midwife is fully aware of the previous issues. So we will see. It wasn't really even the birth itself that has caused lasting issues. But more the aftermath for me personally. It took me 4 months to recover and I had 3 additional surgeries. Fingers crossed this one is better!
What's new with baby (size, development)? Length of zucchini/scallion Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Name? We're pretty set on a girl name and have a front-runner for a boy first name
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope
Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling large but otherwise fine. My feet/back do hurt more if I've had a day of picking up the kids a lot or walking around a lot.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm sad that our big vacation is over But it was nice to come back Saturday night so that we had yesterday to regroup and get ready for the week.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? The room where I plan to put baby at first/walk-in closet with windows/future home office is being painted today! The painter is also going to put up new blinds and curtain rods. I'm excited for that to be done so I can start setting things up.
GTKY: favorite color - blue. DD's is blue too and she tells everyone how it's our favorite color.
How far along are you? 25w1d (didn't get a chance to fill it out yesterday)
What's new with baby (size, development)? Prairie dog/baseball glove. Baby's sense of hearing is continuing to improve. Nails are starting to form on her fingers and toes. She is also starting to grasp her hands and wiggle her fingers and toes.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl
Name? No idea yet. We did talk about names a little on Saturday
Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm an emotional wreck some days. I'm super tired lately too.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My hernia is bothering me again. (Today I actually had a lump and had to push it back in.). Like many of you have already talked about, DH sometimes forgets I'm pregnant. It would be nice if he could start picking up some of the things I'm finding harder and harder to do. (Actually put the toddler in the crib at bedtime) I wish just one weekend day he would get up with C instead of me getting up and him continuing to sleep or play in his phone. (But I feel guilty asking because he's usually up at 4 during the week for work.)
DH finally felt her move Saturday evening.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? We actually started on her nursery yesterday. I have a feeling this is going to be a long process. Went out with the MIL and bought a spare car seat for DS for their car. We also picked up a few baby girl outfits too.
GTKY: favorite color -navy blue. But if you ask DH he says my favorite color is pink (I tend to wear more pink than blue)
eucalyptus, I'm in camp don't buy the carseat yet. If something happens, someone else will be able to get you a carseat and deliver it to the hospital. Also a baby born this early wouldn't be going home anytime soon, so there would be time. Also, having it in your car just means there's the change you could get into an accident and have to replace it anyways.
I think I bought ours around 32 weeks. I didn't put one on my registry because I wanted one specific seat. I put it in my car for a day or two to see how it fit, but then took out the actual seat and just left the base installed until I was called to head into L&D (36w1d) I figured buying a new base was cheaper than a new seat if something happened and when it was go time, all we had to do was click the seat in.
eucalyptus - Agree with PPs. If you register for a car seat, someone might get it for your shower. If you happen to get into an accident, no matter how small, and the seat is installed, you have to replace it in the majority of cases. Not worth dealing with that.
What's new with baby (size, development)? Napa cabbage or baseball glove. Rotating towards birthing position.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Not finding out
Name? TBD, but won't be sharing. Mostly in case we change our minds when we see baby, but also don't want opinions.
Any upcoming appointments this week? Not for three weeks.
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new. Feeling really good, which is so nice. Also feeling baby move around more and more. I think baby had hiccups last night!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Acne has been less intense the past couple weeks. Hope it stays that way! It's harder to fall asleep at night. I feel more awake at night. I need more sleep!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Need to pick our pediatrician. Got the new curtains for the second bedroom in this week so will hang them this weekend. Cleaned out the second bedroom and it's ready for baby stuff!
I already bought and installed the car seat, we have a golden retriever/ lab mix who will be travelling with us (we travel often). We have the car seat installed with a doll inside and we've been practicing that way for long trips (including playing crying noises). When I read this I sound insane but my dog is a family member and I would like to make the adjustment to baby as easy as possible.

How far along are you? 26 weeks 1 day
What's new with baby (size, development)? Baby is the size of a Double Gulp cup. According to the ultrasound, baby is head down in good position. If she is like her big brother, she'll stay that way.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl!
Name? Eleanor (Ellie)
Any upcoming appointments this week? Had an ultrasound today! Next appointment is with my OB next Tuesday.
Any new symptoms or changes? Days of more movement, days of less movement. I have to remind myself that this is absolutely normal.
Rants/Raves/Questions? MH has a plan for getting the spare room cleared out for it to become DS's new room. It will be done by the end of this month!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Nothing new this week.
GTKY: favorite color? Right now it seems to be pink, but I am a fan of color in general! I love blue, and green, and purple, and red, and yellow (but not to wear)...

Not crazy to me! H and I are trying to figure out what all to do to prep our dog. She's very chill and has met babies and toddlers of multiple ages and has been fine with them, so we have no real concerns. But I don't want to surprise her or change anything suddenly. We're planning to set up all the baby things (cosleeper, swing, stroller, etc) and pretend to use them like we will with actual baby. Definitely going to walk her with the empty stroller. Torn on whether to play crying sounds or not. That stuff doesn't phase her.

Not crazy. We were so worried about our dogs adjusting, but for the most part they were find. Unfortunately, now that dd is older my one dog just couldn't take it. He now lives with Grandma and we visit often. I still feel bad, but he's so much happier there.
Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Boy
Name? Nothing yet
Any upcoming appointments this week? I have to go in for my GD screen one day this week, but it's not scheduled I just have to show up at the lab when I have time/can get a babysitter.
Any new symptoms or changes? I think I'm starting to nest, I've been going through cupboards and closets and getting rid of a lot of extra stuff and organizing what's left.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Can't believe how close I am to 3rd tri, it makes me feel like I need to get going on getting baby stuff ready and make DH start having serious conversations about names.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? I bought a bed for DS yesterday, so one of the next few days we're going to move him out of the crib.
How far along are you? 27 weeks What's new with baby (size, development)? Size of a large Siracha bottle Boy/girl/not finding out/haven't found out yet? Girl Name? Meredith Any upcoming appointments this week? Nope. Had my fourth ultrasound Tuesday. Hopefully we are done with that. Any new symptoms or changes? Craving slushies every single day. Rants/Raves/Questions? My cold is gone and I can finally sleep again! What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Still working on DD1 room GTKY: favorite color Pink
