kendylouwho, I think they recommend only soft soles for little ones. Right now LO wears socks when we're out walking around but I'll probably get her some moccasins soon (I wish I could afford some Freshly Picked ones!) since she'll probably be walking soon.
I'm really nervous about ditching the bottle, @unicornofthesea. Baby gets 2 now with 2/3 formula and 1/3 2% milk. I give her a sippy of water or milk with each meal, but she barely drinks out of it. She doesn't like to drink cold liquids. She has her 1 year well visit next week, so I hope the pedi can help.
DD will not wear shoes until she's walking outside. I do need to find a good pair for her for the summer.
My kids are picky and I am a huge mom fail for making two meals. I'm trying to give the baby what we adults are eating, and she usually eats it, but if she sees the boys get Mac n cheese, she must have it also. I hate that I do this!!!
Since my BMB is dead, can I jump in here for my dumb question? (Really, I thread stalked you guys to make sure it hadn't been asked, but then saw this thread and it's the perfect place to ask)
I am pumping at work and have a freezer stash. I'm constantly doing the math.. if I stop pumping in a couple weeks, I have enough in the freezer to get DS to the one year mark. But what happens after that? Straight to WCM? I honest to god don't remember what we did with DD.
I think I pumped until a year and then continued sending frozen bottles to DC. Once DC stopped heating bottles, I just sent it in a sippy cup, and eventually.. something happened (I ran out? She turned it down? I don't know) and she just got WCM. Is that basically the process?
For those that have done CIO, do your kiddos fuss a bit every night or nap when you lay them down or do they happily go in their crib? We haven't done CIO but we are discussing our next step and I was curious if M would ever go down happy.
Also, is it crazy to spend $275 on a dock a tot cosleeper? I feel like sanity might be worth that much (if it works) or the sleep deprivation might be tricking me into spending $.

When we did CIO with other babies I always focused first on nights. It usually took three or so before they would go to bed without crying. Once nights were good we started working on naps. I found that to be easy. They kind of figure the naps out on their own once they get used to calming themselves at night.
What is everyone's LO drinking besides formula/BM/WCM? I'm transitioning R to WCM which is going surprising smoothly but he won't drink anything else. I've tried water and watered down juice but he refuses both.
Yeah, DD gets 1-2 bottles of 3/4 WCM and 1/4 formula. We offer her a cup of cold milk at every meal, but she barely drinks any. She will drink water when she's playing, so I just figure she'll get the hang of milk eventually.
We never really switched DD1 to WCM. We're not a milk family and her doctors never said anything. DD1 drinks some every once in a while now but not often. LO still gets BM and she's started playing with a water bottle but hasn't quite figured out how to get the water out anyways.
We gave DD1 a doll in her crib around her first birthday and LO has two in her bed as of a couple weeks ago. I don't like blankets for a while still, LO sleeps in a sack to stay warm.
Is it ok to just give Lo water during MOTN wake ups? Or does he still need the calories from formula?
At LOs 9 month appointment the doctor said very specifically that LO doesn't need MOTN calories. Probably the same for almost all babies at this age unless they have weight issues. I still nurse once in the MOTN but I might actually try giving her water because I'm exhausted, I don't want to keep waking up.
