Well they called back and told me to go into L&D immediately. Cue total freak out. I don't want to go if it's nothing. But I also want to make sure everything is ok. Gonna talk with H and see how I feel after resting with my heat pad for half an hour.

So apparently my new favorite past time is now stalking bmb to read birth stories. That got me wondering how long were your previous labors s+tm? I know we've talked in passing about our stories.
I forgot to add what I do. I'm a health inspector and my husband is a dock builder.
Who is still working out? What are you doing if you are? I'm still using my Fitbit and trying to hit 10k steps a day/weights but some days it's a real struggle.
We go to a fitness class called OrangeTheory. We go twice a week, usually to one 60 minute class and one 90 minute class. You rotate through treadmill, rower, and weight room. It has made a huge difference for me, I think. A couple of women who do it just gave birth last month and said that it was relatively easy and were back at pre-pregnancy weight within 2 weeks. I love it. Otherwise, I try to get in 8,500 steps on my FitBit, but I don't stress over it.

Any update? I hope everything is okay! You'd rather be overly cautious!!

toadandbuggie, I just started running again this week. It was a really busy work week so I only went once, and I started out pretty slowly, but I'll hopefully continue until I can get a steady 3-4 days per week.

They had an OrangeTheory Fitness near my house when I lived in CO...I loved it! Such a great workout. I love having something structured where there is someone telling me what to do!

I was in labor 28 hrs with DS. I labored at home for about 18 hrs before being admitted (I was only at a freaking 4 when admitted). I immediately got an epi upon admission and things finally started moving along once I was able to relax. Stalled again at a 6 or 7, so they broke my water, then started me on pit after that. Delivered vaginally 10 hrs after admission. Really hoping it doesn't take as long this time. I was completely miserable until I got the epi. I had totally convinced myself I'd be in labor forever and this child would never come out.
Hi ladies. I'm at the hospital now. It was a nightmare driving here in rush hour. I'm waiting now, so I'll keep you all updated once they monitor what's going on.

Woke up around 1:40 am, had two contractions, then my water broke. Laboured at home until 8pm (my MW checked me and stayed once active labour started) went to the hospital because I wanted their jet tub. Around 1am I decided to get an epi because we were looking at 8-10 more hours of labour, it was magical. They also started pit at that point so my labour wouldn't stall. Around maybe 6 we did some practice pushed then I laboured down more. Had my epi topped up, then pushed some more, but DS would come down then slide back up (turned out he was tangled in the cord), plus he started having late decels so we did forceps assisted, and he was born around when my MW predicted. All told it was about 32 hours of labour, 17 active.
To the FTMs, my kiddo turned so he was partly sunny side up which resulted in back labour (ouch) and a longer labour since he wasn't pushing against my cervix as effectively. Most babies are more considerate, hopefully yours are.

I was induced at 37w so I have no experience with laboring at home or anything. I was at work and went right to the OB who sent me right to the hospital. I was 4cm when I arrived and started pitocin about 3pm. Around 4:30pm I thought I was going to die. The contractions were so hard and so fast. My H had to keep going to the nurses station to get the nurse because she kept leaving.... and I kept insisting I was progressing quickly which I was. She was surprised when she checked me again and I was 10cm. I pushed for ten(? That's what it felt like) minutes or so and DS was born at 6:07.
Fairly quick and I'm hoping the same with DS2!
ETA I received stadol (which felt like xanax; didn't take away the pain but took the edge off) but not an epi. The nurse who thought I'd labor a lot longer gave me a second dose of stadol instead of seeing how progressed I was (it is not supposed to be given if near birth) and DS came out having breathing problems because of it.
So this time I want to try to go completely med free because that scared both H and I.

This happened to me too, late in labor though, so I felt no back labor thanks to the epi already being in. They tried for about two hours to get DS to turn and he wouldn't, so he was born sunny side up.
Sorry I've been MIA, I don't get to check in much when I work. I'm a pediatric oncology nurse and I work 12 hour shifts. H works in the IT dept of a company. As far as labor...total from when contractions started to when she came out was 28 hours, 19 at the hospital. Not my favorite experience, but holding her at the end of it was worth it! In other news my Mom is moving this weekend, she'll be about 2 hours closer, she told me she wants to start getting A used to sleeping at her new house. She plans on taking her for a week after the baby comes so we can focus on just one. I'm excited and a little sad. I've never spent a night away from A, let alone a whole week!!! I know A will love it! My sister and her family will be about 15 minutes away and A loves my niece and nephew. But the thought of just taking care of a newborn sans toddler is blissful. Mom guilt starts already.
So I have an infection that can cause preterm labor (thus the cramping). She said if I treat it, everything should be ok and my cramping should stop eventually. I'm allowed to take 1,000mg of Tylenol at a time, and she said to do that and put my feet up and use my heat pad if I feel the cramping. She also wants me to be on a lookout for labor symptoms and increased cramping. So. That's the story for now! FX the meds make it all go away.

I was in labor about 18 hours. My water broke at home around 1pm, we drove to the hospital right away (a week past due date soooooo ready!). I didn't even start getting contractions for another hour or two and they were light. Wasn't progressing so they put me on pit. Slowly started getting stronger contractions but still not progressing. I don't remember what time... late at night... I finally asked for the epidural. I was still only at three or four centimeters if I remember right, and my body was freaking out. I have an adrenal disorder of some kind that makes me go into a sort of shock pretty easily so I wasn't handling the contractions well. The epidural was like heaven!!! And it helped me relax and finally make some progress!!! 6 am I started pushing. Spiked a fever at about 7:30 from an infection (too long with my water broken I think) and was exhausted but kept pushing, and got our ds out at 8:05. Ds had the cord around his neck 3 times and was completely blue and limp when he was born, but kudos to the nurses, they got him going again in about 30 seconds. On that note... it's unusual for the cord to really cause problems, but it did in our case and I'm scared to have it happen again! They didn't know he was having a hard time while he was actually engaged in the birth canal. I had a cousin who insisted on an ultrasound before her due date, and when she saw the cord was around the baby's neck she actually forced a c section. I don't want to be a crazy lady and insist on something that's not necessary, but cord problems freak me out!! Doctors don't seem to worry about it but... anyone have any insight on this?

My labors were fast. The first I went in at 6cm with no contractions. They broke my water just after 8. Contractions amped up after about 30 minutes. Pushed for just over an hour and a half before ending up with an episiotomy and C was born at 1:30 pm. So, 5 hours of labor and delivery. Ds2 was even quicker. Got to the hospital and checked at 5:30 pm because I was having some light contractions but the Dr said head in at the first sign of labor. I was 8cm and got in a room. Pushed him out in less than 10 minutes with no tearing at all! He was born at 6:50. So almost a hour and a half labor and delivery. Also wanted to add both were med free births.

Glad you caught it when you did...get some rest lady!

My water broke when I was getting ready for work about a week before my due date. I had been having some contractions for about a week but not bad. They were still very mild and I could barely tell they were happening. We got at the hospital around 11 because they said I needed to come even with only mild contractions. I continued all day and into the night this way and put off pitocin because I didn't want interventions. I finally got it around 11 and labored all night. Things got intense somewhere around 2 AM. It all progressed super slowly. My body started pushing on it's own around 10AM and DS was born at 4PM. I didn't end up getting an epi but it was definitely not the natural birth I wanted. I'm hoping that things go much smoother this time!
DS had the cord wrapped around his neck a few times but he didn't have any issues. I don't think it was tight until the very end and his HR started dropping. They did a quick episiotomy and got him out.
MissSally, glad you are home on the mend! Is this a common infection?
Yep. She said I just have an imbalance of normal bacteria down there. So it's crazy to me that it can cause so many issues. Pregnancy continues to amaze me!
My 5 year old has flu A. I hope the rest of us avoid it.
Tonight was the first time I wished I knew the baby's sex. Even though I really am excited about being team green. I don't know why I'm feeling so conflicted today.
