Storms and crazy high winds came through between 11pm and 1am overnight. I hate being responsible and having a weather radio because that dumb thing went off probably 5 times, waking me each time. If. It for it, I would have slept right through the storm.
My husband "took the night shift" last night. Even though I still have to feed her and I changed her diaper once, he did put the pack n play on his side of the bed and put her to sleep, locate the pacifier, etc. So instead of him taking his usual morning shift, I am. He actually looked at me and said, "Is this how you feel every morning?" 🙄🙄🙄
lola they just don't get it until they experience it.
We have our 2 month appointment in an hour or so. Not looking forward to the shots, but dh is coming so I don't have to handle her alone. My pedi's office sends you a digital form before each appointment to answer some questions and then list any you have. I think I've doubled my list since I filled it out.

Good morning ladies! Things are actually going pretty well here. I had the babies by myself last night, but then H brought them to daycare this morning when he got home from work. It seemed to work out pretty well.
I'm having an existential crisis about my job. There are two open positions that would be PERFECT for me. The only thing that isn't perfect is the timing. Like, I'm trying to ease back into work and going for a new job might not be the best move right now. BUT, on the flip side - I don't really like the direction my current job is going in (my whole team is in Florida, I'm lonely in the office, feeling very dead-end). I set up a lunch with my pseudo-mentor to see what she thinks. She's also a working mom so I really value her opinion.
requiressnacks, Hope you get some good advice! I know what you mean. Even though it's my busy week I've already figured out how to get things done faster. Would not want to start training at a new position.
The shots yesterday totally wiped Hazel out. She slept most of the afternoon and evening, when she wasn't crying. Then she slept 9:45pm-4:30am, nursed and went back to sleep until 8:30am. She back asleep now.

I got to work on time today and didn't forget anything (that I've realized yet anyways)! I even brought my lunch! I think I might go join the Weight Watchers office meetings again while I'm working here. it's like $30 more a month than what I pay for the online only, but it's meeting with people again and I liked it last time. Mostly like the little magazines that keep me going. Not so much the weighing in, although it keeps me honest. I ate so much yesterday and realized it now that I'm really tracking again. Ugh. I used the office gym and walked today, but now I'm feeling sleepy. I really need to get some training done at work so I can mark it off my list - but again, no motivation. My company pays for training and gives you $1500 for finishing a certification. I'm thinking about using that as much as I can before they decide to close this office. We could really use the extra money to feed my shopping for baby clothes habit and pay off debt. LOL I just really thought I wouldn't be into it, but today I feel together about stuff. Maybe I can do it with a little one at home. We'll see.

Question for you all - I didn't want to venture out to the BF board, but I will if I'm told to. I have Jane on formula and breast milk ever since I got so stressed out and stopped getting as much. I nurse her at night and pump a couple times during the day and just supplement formula bottles for daycare so she always has enough. I figured I'd just keep doing this until I couldn't anymore. Will the milk stay in supply? What do I do if I want to stop? wrap myself up? Go through engorgement? I hope not to, but just curious. Thanks! I looked up kellymom, but had a hard time finding what I wanted to figure out.

Basically, a gradual weaning is elimate 1 session per week. If you pump twice a day and nurse 4x's a day, then it could take up to 6 weeks to stop. I did this and still felt engorged early on in the process. Hot showers helped ease the discomfort. There's also cabbage leaves that are supposed to help dry you up.

If you want to stop, I'd just cut back one session per week. That way your body has time to adjust to less need and you *shouldn't* end up engorged. If you just quit cold turkey, you will be engorged and it will not be pleasant at all.
lola, they really don't get it until they experience it. Mine is STILL asking where the burp clothes and socks are kept.
I have today off from work for the twins 4 month appointment. These shots have knocked them out, I have a feeling they will be sleeping all day. The pedi wants DS to start PT so I now need to call about that. Does anyone else have experience with PT for their LO?
My morning went ok better than yesterday. Leo woke himself up coughing last night so I let him sleep late this morning. Therefore, late again for work. I'm heading out to the grocery store to pick up a few ingredients for tomorrows dinner. I'm making it in the crock pot overnight since during the day I'm usually out more than 10 hrs. I hope I stick to my list since I'm hungry and won't have lunch until later.

I'm in love with my instant pot. just got it right before I went back to work and I've cooked in it every night for a couple of weeks (when I cook). I splurged at got the blue tooth enabled which was $179, but you can get one for $79 on Amazon right now. they were out of supply for a little bit, but have them again.
Skinnytaste recipes use it a lot and I love them so I've been using it like crazy. I haven't even used the programmable option yet. I'm just thrilled that soup doesn't take all freaking day.
She slept 9 hours last night. If my first 2 babies did this, it might not have been 9 years til the next baby.
I just spent 20 minutes wrestling the convertible seat into the car. I'm hoping Cora hates it a little less than her infant seat. We had that seat in the car before she was born, but she was too short for it at birth. I guess it's one of the few seats with a height minimum. Besides hating the infant seat, it's too heavy these days -- so fingers crossed the convertible isn't as hated.

I have been doing skinnytaste recipes for the past year..I have her cookbook. They are fantastic...And I have a IP. I have been finding some great recipes on the FB group I am apart of. It's just for IP recipes.
I just put in slow cooker chicken burrito bowls..But in my slow cooker..Me and the IP are just getting to know each other.
Back from our 2month apt. She is in the 99% for height and high 80s for weight. She did ok with the shots, cried then snuggled dh and was fine. We will probably just cuddle the rest of the day and have some tylenol is needed.
I asked about naps. She said since she's doing well with night sleeps to not feel like we have to force naps and if she naps in the swing then so be it. She said it's better to get a nap somewhere than be up all day screaming from not wanting to be in the crib.
