Some TMI: Can someone talk to me about constipation? So I bought some smooth move tea and was finally able to go today. On the box it says to drink 1 cup preferably around dinner time since it's supposed to take 6-12 hours to take effect. Should I drink another cup tonight? I'm okay right now since I was able to go, but I know it's going to take a few days for my body to get back on track after having so much diarrhea last week. Basically...how much should I be drinking? Just one cup a day or maybe 2?
Because you were sick recently I'd probably start off with just 1 cup a day. Once you get a bit further out from being sick, you could probably move to 2 cups if 1 doesn't seem to help enough. But I'm a start with the minimum and adjust from there kinda person for things like this.
Does anyone follow the 6 dates a day thing? I was thinking of buying dates....
I asked my H about this and he said to go for it because it won't hurt and studies show it does have a correlation to shorter labors. Will be doing it! When to start?
Same with red raspberry leaf tea - when do I start drinking it?
I started with RRLT around 15 weeks I think. My midwife said I could have a cup a day up until 3rd tri, and I could increase the amount towards the end. I don't remember to drink it every day, though. :/

I'm not sure about the tea, but my midwife recommended a daily probiotic to help with constipation. I got the Good Belly probiotic drink and it's actually not bad at all. I try to have one 16oz. glass per day, and it really helps keep things...regular.
If you're ready to announce, I'd go for it. If it was my BFF's dad, I may not, but otherwise I think I would.
I went to 2 funerals while pregnant, my nana and a family friend's mom. In both cases people seemed to like having something to talk about that lightened the mood.
I've been waiting for 45 minutes for my check up. FFS. If you're running this far behind, give a heads up so I can get other shit done instead of sitting here waiting (it's becoming an issue at every app now)
TTC since July 2014. CP March 2015. IVF #1 March 2016, 5R, 3M, 2F with ICSI. Transferred 2 on day 3. CP. Surprise BFP and then CP August 2016 (prep cycle for IVF). IVF #2: zero eggs retrieved IVF #3: 6R, 5M, 5F, 3 (2 8A and 1 11A) transferred, one "B" graded embryo frozen on day 5. BFP (at home 7dp3dt, confirmed 14dp3dt with 1552 beta) and U/S at 5w5d, 2 sacs and 2 yolks!
I'm pretty sure we have something (squirrels?) living up in our attic crawl space... 😩
Ugh! We had some in our walls that we had to get professionals in to get rid of, they brought humane traps and moved them.
Not as bad bc it's just my office...but I think birds have a nest in my a/c unit at my office. Will I hurt them if I turn it on? How can I get them to move?

Do you tend to eat sugary foods late at night before bed? Pregnancy can cause crazy dreams on its own, but I find sugar (even just a glass of chocolate milk or something) makes them worse.
Nope, I think I had pizza around 6:30, and then only water after that. It must have just been one of those weird pregnancy dreams. Maybe I need to social media less before bed or something!
I had a dream I was dating Elon Musk last night, and I didn't understand why a billionaire wouldn't paint over the roses all over his bedroom. Like redecorate dude!
I have not had a single blood test this pregnancy! Other than the BETA at the beginning.
We had all our STD and such tests done when we started with the RE and my blood type and such are well known facts. So basically a million blood tests with the RE (they had their own lab and the techs had such a soft touch I wish I could always get blood drawn there... sigh) to none with OB. I will get some in April with the Gestational diabetes test, but that will be my first!

So frustrating!! The birthing center only takes a certain number of patients, and it's still fairly new, so there's never a wait, but the wait at my RE was always sooooo long. Even though it was only 10 mins from my office, I usually blocked off at least 2 hours per visit.
I try to make sure I always have either a book or my small laptop in my bag when I go to the doctor so I can keep busy in the waiting room. The few times I've forgotten are torture. I hate feeling like I'm wasting time doing nothing.

Same here, except I got my glucose screen done early, so I had that done a few weeks ago, and they took an extra vile of blood to check my thyroid at that time.
I feel like I deserve a little bit of a break though...in the last 2ish years I swear they've taken enough of my blood that they could go create a whole new human with it. The worst was the RPL workup...that was 18 viles at once. Ugh.
I've been doing so well...I didn't break into my Thin Mint stash at all this week until just now. I bet this entire sleeve magically disappears before I leave the office today...
Okay so today's thread got me thinking about looking for a pedi. I got overwhelming recommendations for one particular place in the town where we live, and a lot of my friends go there.
One of the things I said in my post requesting recommendations is that I was looking for someone who required that their patients vaccinate. When I called the office, I asked the same question, and she said yes, they do require vaccinations.
But...this girl posted the following comment on my post:
"I have taken both my kids to [doctor] since they were little I have a 5 yr and 1 yr and have been very pleased with [doctor]. I used a delayed vaccine schedule and refused several and she was happy to work with me without judgement."
Soooo....this seems like contradicting information to me....??

Yea...that makes no sense. I'd probably ask the dr office about that response. Obviously they can't give specifics because of privacy reasons, but it seems like they should be able to answer in generalities if they're telling you they require vaccinations but another patient is saying they didn't.
And the way the girl mentioned "without judgment" in her response makes me think it's not a medical reason her kids didn't receive all vaccines.

I'm thinking maybe I'll ask about it in person when I do the meet & greet, or maybe tomorrow when I speak with the specific doctor's receptionist who I'm interested in seeing (she's out today, so they told me to call back tomorrow morning).
This girl has also posted like 3 other comments since then along the lines of "OH DEFINITELY DON'T GO SEE [name] because [xyz reason]" or "[doctor so-and-so] is THE WORST BECAUSE BLAH BLAH BLAH", so part of me thinks maybe she's just a nut job.
Omg. Some other lady just commented "As a mom of 3, I really wish we had follow up on some of these posts. I would love to see if your various plans and parenting styles work out as planned. Mine sure didn't."
Uh...fuck you very much. I didn't come here asking for your opinion on whether you think my parenting styles will "work out" with my kid. I asked for doctor recommendations. Andplusalso, no thank you to coming back to let you know whether or not my parenting style has failed. Why do you care if I'm "successful" in breastfeeding or cloth diapering?!
FYI...this was my OP:
Any mommas have recommendations for a pediatrician in the [town] area? I'm currently pregnant with my first and really have no idea what to look for or what to ask about, but we plan to: - cloth diaper - breastfeed as long as possible up to 1 year - circumcise - vaccinate according to the CDC vaccine schedule - co-sleep (not bedshare, but co-sleep in an arm's reach) I guess I would want someone who is supportive of my overall parenting style and beliefs, definitely will want someone who requires vaccinations for all their patients, and then I guess secondary preferences would be well/sick waiting rooms, convenience of hours, and response/timeliness to calls.

MH just got off the phone with our car seat manufacturer. Neither the manufacturer nor any of their distributors carry the base for our seat anymore, so even though our seat is not expired, now that we have 2 cars we have to get a new seat since we split pick up and drop off. Oh, and they no longer manufacture car seats that are compatible with our stroller, either.
This would be the major con of not having your kids super close together.

Bummer! Is it a commonly used seat? I wonder if you could find a used base on Ebay or in a local B/S/T group or something?

akraus2015, it's a Graco so it's pretty popular, but I'd be hesitant to buy any used car seat pieces- if they've been in a crash, you aren't supposed to continue using them, and I wouldn't feel certain a seller was telling the truth.

Well that's just obnoxious! Answer the question or move on lady!

Yes, major pet peeve of mine on larger FB groups. If you don't have anything productive to add, why are you commenting? Move on!

Could you just get a convertible for the third car? You'd need one anyway and could still use the seat you have
