Baby O's original surgery from when he was a day old failed. So yesterday they took him up to the OR to fix it again. Since surgery he was having problems breathing and they kept having to bag him and give him things like epi. So MOTN last night they took him back to the OR to try and get him back to breathing. They also told my sister to have my BIL start driving there from 6 hours away. They ended up putting him on ECMO which she said they only do for babies that have 80% or greater chance for not making it. I haven't heard an update this morning yet. Please send thoughts, prayers, good vibes, whatever you can that he makes it through this.

Oh no. Oh no. Sending everything good I can to O and the family. This must be so scary. I checked for an update last night and didn't see anything and wondered what was up. He's such a strong baby with a fight in him!

Oh no I'm so sorry, all the positive vibes for the little guy and his family
My sister just posted another update. This is a c&p: "Owen finally got up to the CICU a little after 5am. They are still working on getting him settled and getting everything right for his settings and drips. They had to do the cannula tubes for the ECMO straight out of his chest, so his chest is open with two tubes coming it out and and covered with a clear dressing. ECMO is a version of bypass to let his lungs and heart rest and heal. They have no idea how long he will need it, but they will continue to use it until his lung function can come back to base line and possibly a little longer to clear out the junky that he has seemed to have forever.
They are keeping him on the vec aka paralytic while they get to know him today and then we will figure out where he needs to be for sedation.

I'm glad you can go up there trtlcrzy - I hope you have an easy drive. I'm sending lots of good thoughts for baby O and your whole family. Those ECMO pictures are heartbreaking.
My heart breaks for baby O and all those babies/kids out there with health struggles, not having a normal day and knowing what it feels like to feel good physically. So innocent and not fair. 💔
I'm glad you are going to be with them trtlcrzy I hope things will turn around for him.
I'm a little more than half way there. I pulled off on an exit so I could nurse S. The sign said there is a gas station. Yeah, it's like 5 miles away so I pulled off on a side road. Fun fact: there is a town in MN named Keister, lolz.
I made it up her about an hour ago. Baby O is on a paralytic so not much is happening right now. They actually let me bring S back into his room. My sister and BIL are holding up just fine it seems. She got a couple hour nap late this morning.
I just made it home a little bit ago. Nothing really changed all day. It's a wait and see how he does and let him rest. But here's my stupid moment of the day. I'm not sure if you guys are aware but I've never been to Trader Joe's. Well on my way out of Rochester I passed one so I decided to stop. I got a few non perishable items that I've been interested in (joe-joes, seasonings)and left. Drove 30 minutes and stopped at a gas station. Realized that I didn't have my wallet. Called TJs and an employee found it in a cart. So I had to make an hour round trip back to get my wallet. The last hour of my drive was rough. My eyes just wanted to close but I fought it and in a little bit I'm goi f to bed.

Thanks you guys for your t&ps. It means a lot.
Hope he's able to rest comfortably and do some healing. He was weighing heavily on my mind last night.
