Just finished pumping and drinking coffee. O has a definite side preference overnight, so I just got 2oz from lefty and 5oz from righty.
Tired again, so I'm caffeinating all day because we're driving 5 hours to MN tonight after work. And DH has a man cold.
I pumped 7 ounces every morning last week and then this week I've only gotten 4 the first pump which has left me with not enough milk. I am not doing anything different and it is so very frustrating to me not to be able to pump enough when I'm doing everything right. I've never skipped a session- I pump at least 15 min and past the last drop.

I'm all over the place. My first pump I usually get the most but it's anywhere from 4oz-7oz. I haven't found any rhyme or reason to it.
Only good thing about my bottle refuser is it's easy for me to pump more than she will take.
FFFC: I know you're not supposed to have a baby mirror in your car, but I have one and I freaking love it. I wish I'd had one when my girls were babies because I love being able to look in the rearview mirror and see DS's cute little face and see what's he's doing.

becole, I know you were saying that maybe your cycle was coming back - my milk production drops a lot when I'm on my period. It sucks because I have to dip into my freezer stash and it's not really so much a stash at this point.

There is a small part of me that dreads our vacation each year because I have to be with my kids 24/7 for a week straight. By like day 4, I'm over it. I feel like a crap parent when I admit that because I don't get to see them for that long any other time of the year so I feel like I should "soak it up" but really, it's exhausting. The bright spot is obviously DH is there with me and then my parents, brother and sister so usually I can get them to entertain them for a bit here and there. I think another reason I kind of dread it is because my parents have been trying to cram us all into the same damn room. My oldest is 6 now and I just think there comes a time when he needs to be in a different room than us - I think he will be this year, but we will have the baby and DS2 in our room with us and that sucks so bad.
ksyknelvr73 - I'm pretty confident that there are millions of parents who feel the same way. Don't feel badly saying that. It really is exhausting. That totally sucks that you have to be int he same room, though!

We have a mirror in the car, but we can't get it lined up to be able to see him. I really need to play around with it some more.
fem, T&Ps for the long drive with a man cold. G only nurses from one side at a time, so if I don't pump the opposite side before I leave for work, I get more from that side. I just finished my morning pump and got 2.5 ounces from the left (which G ate from) and almost 6 from the right. The second pump of the day is more even.
MH definitely gets burned out from being home with both boys most of the time. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it a little bit easier on him, whether it's adding a day for one of the boys at day care or something. At least come August, he will only have G for the day until N gets home from school. We have to get there, though.
It is snowing its ass off here right now. It was 65 degrees and sunny yesterday! Fortunately nothing is sticking, but the warm weather is gone for a while and they are talking about a Nor'easter coming through next week. Nothing is sticking really. A was up at 3am ready to party. Finally fell back asleep with me on the couch at 4:45, then my alarm goes off at 5:15. I left her on the couch while I got ready then moved her back to bed, where I heard her talking until I left. DH said she never went back to sleep and sent me a selfie of them catching up on Sports Center this morning. She should be in a great mood when I get to her this afternoon. The local elementary school is closed so its loud AF in there all day. Her naps have been shit all week and we have my moms birthday dinner tonight. Should be a real hoot.
smallpotato mine only nurses one side at a time usually too. It's not usually this uneven though, I didn't realize until last night how often she only wants the left. My first pump I do both sides, and if I get close to enough milk (she only eats 9oz tops at daycare) I just pump one side at a time after that.

I've read that the mirror can become a projectile in the event of an accident. However, we had a small one with N and it was great, especially when we went on longer road trips. I bought a bigger one for G, but I can't get it angled correctly to see into the car seat. Maybe it will be easier once he's out of the bucket seat.
I get it, I really do....but....I think it's a bit much. We have a mirror too.
I have it strapped down. It's way more secure than the two diaper bags, three blankets, snacks, toys, jackets, etc... that are all laying around the back of my car.

Mine is strapped down too. Ditto with the toys, diaper bag, my own purse, my laptop bag, etc. I'm not sure how exactly I'm supposed to contain everything.

Haaayyy guys! Sorry for disappearing 😖 It's been a busy week adjusting to working again and whatnot. By the time I get home, it's dinner time, followed closely by bedtime, and then I'm exhausted and go to bed myself. I've been getting up at 4:45 to make certain I have enough time to get out the door-good news is I think I can push that back a little next week, now that I've got a routine down.
So. My new job. LOVE it. Everyone has been great; really welcoming, helpful, and genuinely excited for me to be on the team. I'm busy all day, which I love. Makes the day go quickly. It's a little frustrating right now because my computer access is still that of a bedside nurse, so I can do much playing around in there, which is what I really need practice with. Hopefully that's changed by next week. FX.
The boys are adjusting well to FT daycare, not that I ever anticipated they wouldn't. DS1 told MH that he "doesn't like everyday school" but only because he can't have his oatmeal for breakfast in the AM. 😂🙄 DS2 is napping slightly better there, probably out of sheer exhaustion. He's sleeping from 7ish until I wake him at 6:15. Naps at home have been better, especially since we figured out he's not a cuddler. I rock him to get him drowsy for a few minutes and then he talks himself to sleep. He literally gets pissed if I try to rock longer than that and he has to be sitting on my lap facing out. LOL if I try to lay him down and cradle him.
MH and I are leaving for our weekend away in an hour or so. Just waiting on my parents to get here. I'll check back in on the long car ride. And yes, I'm still salty about Mh dragging his feet and not being in Tampa this weekend with ksyknelvr73. Especially since this weekend is going to be the coldest weekend since January here. 🙄

britta you are missing out. The forecast for tomorrow is 81 and sunny I cannot WAIT. We're actually supposed to get a cold snap here this weekend too - when we come home Monday the high is 43 I think. Considering it's been in the 70s basically since January here (also odd) it just feels weird for it to be cold again. Going to soak up the sun while I can!

That's exactly my feelings about it. It's way safer than all the other crap laying around in my car. The ice scraper is way more dangerous than a well-secured, plastic mirror!
+1 to not missing the toddler when he's at daycare.
My kids are driving me nuts. DS sleep really well last night, but he's super crabby today. I really think he's so tired from the year of crappy sleep. I think DD has entered her sleep regression. Nap time is getting ridiculous. Having trouble putting herself to sleep and staying asleep. She's currently sleeping on me.
I need to tell you guys what I saw yesterday. I went to the mall with DD in the mei tai. I was on the bus. These two scuzzy looking people get on. One had one of those old lady walkers with the seat. The other had one of those "hobo shopping carts".....WITH A BUCKET SEAT SITTING ON TOP. I'm not 100% if there was an infant in it, as there was a shower cap cover (completely closed of course) and a weather shield canopy. Just rolls it onto the bus and lets go....there's no brakes on those so as the bus starts to pull away it rolls. My heart literally jumped into my throat. The best part?! They had the audacity to side eye me wearing DD.

I see homeless people using strollers to push their stuff around- probably no baby in there.

true. but why the weather shield and cover? unless it was booze.
We were up and ready early this morning so we took the kids and ate breakfast at chic fil a together before heading separate ways. I still really miss my baby during the day. I want so badly to be home with the infant. The toddler I miss but it's not the same right now.
on the subject of mirrors, I'd be more concerned about 1 of the 5,456,343 toddler toys of DD's flying and hitting them in the face or my phone or my bag or my pump or my gym shoes or whatever the hell is in the very back of the Subaru. I NEED my mirror. That's just dumb.
