This is copy and pasted from March 2017.
I've got some time while little miss snoozes in my arms.
Had my last ob appt complete with an ultrasound and NST. When my Ob came in to go over both she said the nurse found a knot in the cord and also discovered that it was a 2 vessel cord. Everything was fine and blood flow was good, but she didn't see the point in taking any chances since I was 38 weeks so she sent me straight over to be induced. But not before checking me and sweeping my membranes. My water started leaking as soon as I stood up and I was a little more than 4 cm. We get over here at 9:30 and pitocin was started about an hour and a half later. The contractions finally got to where I couldn't stand them anymore and I got the epi. My nurse, which was my SIL, checked me after the epi set in and I was about 9.5cm. After trying to relax through a few contractions it was time to push. I pushed for 15 minutes and she arrived at 2:57.
They did an ultrasound to check her kidneys due to the 2 vessel cord and they checked out fine. She actually peed on me right after she came out so the ob had a feeling she was fine. There also wasn't a knot in the cord after all.
She has her daddy wrapped already and big brother is totally excited she's here. I am exhausted and she's been using me as a human pacifier since she showed up. She's eaten some too since her blood sugars have gone up. They were on the low end of normal bit they've gone up a tad.
