Sending good thoughts to your FIL ampaints and your Grandpa @mrspanpan
We've got about an inch or two of snow so far. It's not supposed to get bad until 2pm. A has gymnastics this morning so I am waiting to see if they cancel. Every school is already closed. I did make it to boot camp so if I do nothing else I'll still feel accomplished haha

So far the snow looks underwhelming, but it's still coming down. The latest report I see says 10-16 inches total predicted. It looks like that gross wet messy snow. My job follows NYC school snow days, so I'm off. P's daycare has an early closing and it's a mile walk to get there (and I don't want to think about trying to drive) so she's home with me for the day. She has already taken her (cloth, fastened with snaps) diaper off and peed on the floor. It might be a long day... Also, I should probably get serious about potty training soon.
The part of the overindulgent mother is being played by ampaints this morning.
With two appointments that are likely to piss M off I figured this wasn't a battle I wanted to fight today. Want to eat with from random Tupperware, sure. Going to feed yourself and be an absolute mess, knock yourself out kid. At least he's eating something...
Less snow than they thought, but more ice. We're still getting some freezing rain. Should be over around lunch time. Not looking forward to shoveling heavy, wet snow.
I have not caught up but good news is that without the alarm my kid slept till 7!! Something he has never done. Bad news is a dog shit right next to my passenger side door and I stepped in it getting w out. I'm not sure how today is going to go.
redandblue, i'm doing alright, i'd be doing better if i wasn't up 35 million times last night between the kids, the snoring h and the windows that the snoring h left open so the high winds we had last night could blow our blinds all over the place and scare the bejesus out of me.
I think his mom is status quo. I ask all the time for updates and how she is doing and his response, everysingletime is she's good. And in my head i'm like "no she's not dude. she's dying, she's not good." I try to draw answers out of him by asking more questions but i don't get a lot of answers.
Since I took tomorrow of for M's hearing test and speech I went ahead and got a shower tonight so I could sleep in in tee morning. Of course I'm sure he's going to wake up super early since we can sleep in.
I just wanted to let you all now, i read this in an irish accent.
Stupid lying weather men. We got some snow and still a little bit more but no snow day. I was really hoping for a snow day!
If it's the same storm as the rest of the east getting it hasn't hit yet - well me it hasn't hit where I am yet so it wouldn't have hit you up there yet
i think you can add me to the teething club horror story. from the random fever last week, to the gunk in the eyes, throw in some moaning and groaning at night, and snot dripping from his nose along with his appetite decreasing, i think it's safe to say his molars are working their way thru.
@mrspanpan, I hope you're taking care of yourself, hugs!
The snow storm hit north where I used to work last week and it was insanity. Only snowmobiles could get around and almost everyone I know was snowed into their house, and doors couldn't be open because the snow was past the top of the door. Hope it doesn't hit you guys too badly!

That looks like a lot of snow to me @betweenthelines. We are doing our overnight away from DS and I think I need to go buy a pump. I have been hand expressing this morning but still feel full (not rock hard anymore)

It's really not much. And now it's all mixing into slush and getting gross.
My funny but terrifying story from yesterday: the piranhas locked me in our laundry room.
We have a laundry/storage room, with a locking door. We leave it open so the cat can get in and out, as that's where his litter/food/water are kept. It's babygated, but before we got the gate installed, we were keeping the door shut to keep them out. A & E have got it in their heads that that door should be closed because of this, and they always close it when they see it. So I put some laundry on yesterday, and I heard the door slam behind me. Then I heard a click. They'd seen the lock on the handle and had managed to turn it, so I was properly locked inside, with no phone.
THANKFULLY, the laundry room has an access door to our landlord's foyer/the upstairs floor of the house. THANKFULLY, they were home. I knocked on that door for a good five minutes before they heard me, and the landlord let me out. So I was able to leave the house through his front door, and walk around to our entrance, which I'd left unlocked. Seven minutes of freedom of their pesky mother, and the piranhas are both sitting on my computer chair and wailing away at my computer.
This could have been so so so bad. Especially as I had the car so it's not like DH would have come home and eventually found me, he was relying on me to pick him up from the bus station. I'm seeing the humour in it because the second it happened, I knew it'd be alright as the landlord was home, but I'm definitely going to have to do something about this.
Oh, hahaha, AND -- when I put the laundry in the dryer, I put a massive, heavy box of cat litter in front of the door to keep it open. When I came out of the laundry room, the box of cat litter was GONE. A had pushed it all the way across the house. The boy is STRONG, hahahaha
