Hi. It's snowing outside so just staying in today to avoid the mess. I need to purge/organize the kitchen so maybe I'll start that.
C was up a few times last night starting at 3:30, but would go back to sleep pretty easy with a paci. Once he was up then fell back asleep, but not before waking me up of course. Goal today is to try to get him to take good naps again.
I had a mom's night out last night which was loverly but then C and my Husband made last night the suck so I am here and quite sleepy.
Today and tomorrow is all about getting ready to fly to Houston so that will be fun. H has a high likelihood of working from home tomorrow due to a snow storm which will be extra fun with a toddler and a baby and packing to do. But snoooow! We might actually get a real snow storm this winter finally.
goldenlove3 and waitwhat yes! I am excited for snow. I am sad it came so late and after such a warm front that it's killing most of the blooms, but yes I am happy for snow.
We are in the 5-18" range we are right on the edge.

So we're working with a bank right now to get a loan for that lot I mentioned a while ago (owner finally accepted our offer after about 10 revisions). H told the bank that I'm on FMLA leave right now so I don't have a recent paystub. They want me to get a letter from my employer that my job and pay will be the same when I go back. Uhh that is what FMLA is. Not necessarily the same job, but A job and the same pay. I honestly wouldn't even know who to ask for that letter. I guess HR? Just seems dumb.
Funny thing is that I signed into the system and noticed that I got my bonus check! So that was a nice surprise.

We're only supposed to get 2-3", so just enough to be annoying. I'd much rather have the 60 degree days.
We're in he 4-8in range of snow. I dropped the kids off at DC and am working from home. I forgot what my house looks like without kids in it and it's oddly quiet too.
No snow here...just overcast/rainy today. I'll be inside cleaning anyway; I'm hoping my mom can come over and help keep the kids occupied.
Our lab just broke through her invisible fence and left our street for the next one over, so I guess the fence is down or her collar battery is dead? Fun. Fortunately just as I realized she wasn't in the yard some neighbors that were out for a walk were shepherding her around the corner. I hope they enjoyed seeing my pajamas!

I'm home with a sick baby. He doesn't seem better but he doesn't seem worse either. He's sleeping a lot. I nursed him at 330am and then I woke him up at 945am because I wanted to check his fever. He's back down for a nap now. I hope his body is healing itself with all this sleep.
I feel like such an ass. Pediatrician's office just called; I completely forgot about C's 4-month appt this morning. I've never no-showed before. The receptionist did *not* sound delighted.
I apologized profusely and offered to pay whatever no-show fee they charge. She rescheduled us for tmrw. I feel terrible.
goldenlove3 I've had to get a similar letter before and just went through HR. I think HR does that all the time.
And I just woke up from a 2 hour nap. Thank god. Obviously E is sleeping too and making up for last night, but I don't want this to screw us for another crappy night tonight!
LizInFL I never miss appts either and last month I missed my annual Gyn appt and my hair appt both!! Doh! This mom thing is rough lol. Hopefully they don't charge you, I believe we should be given a one time get it of jail free card.
cookswithwine9 Poor O. I hope all this sleep is helping him fight this off. Adeline was running a fever from her immunizations on Saturday and all she wanted to do was sleep too. (Until of course we left to go out with friends.)
waitwhat Twins. I'm always expecting the shittiest of sleep so I usually just go to bed when she does, oh you know, at 6:30/7:00.... And then she goes and gives a decent night of sleep and I'm irrationally upset that I could've stayed up later and actually done something, like oh I don't know, showered in peace or watched tv for once.

C is upstairs napping and I could hear him making noise so I went up to get him. He was still half asleep and holding his wubba paci over his head trying to put it in his mouth 😂. I helped him out and he fell back asleep.
vinolove no personal experience but a friend of mine saw a pelvic floor physio and she gave her exercises to do with a vibrator. Sounds pretty similar to balls.

So, I'm already seeing a physio therapist for this and other things and she gave me some exercises but I was just thinking maybe the balls would help. They are on Zulily for $25 so I may just do it, I mean, it can't hurt right.
No, I can't imagine it would hurt figuratively or literally

Furnace is caput
They're going to try and do a Hail Mary of jimmy rigs tomorrow morning to get us through this cold snap because there's no easy fix. Why? Because the asshat owner had the staircase built over and around it. Load bearing walls will have to get ripped down to get the old system out and a new system in.
Fuckedy fuck fuck
Who builds a permanent structure over something that has to occasion get taken out and replaced?!!!!! Gahhhh
kleigh I'm glad I'm not the only one that has blanked on appts. I swear, my brain has turned to mush since having C. I used to be so smart and organized, I swear! (I wanted to tell the dr's office this but she didn't seem sympathetic to my plight).
Then MIL started in via text, guilt-tripping me bc we aren't going there for Easter. This after I told her we were hosting and invited them to join us. I wanted to be like, NOT TODAY, SATAN. I hate her little passive-aggressive comments. Sorry, my soul is black and I have no guilt over this --I reserve it all for missing pediatrician appts.
I can't wait to do bedtime for 2 kids solo tonight, said no one ever.
I find it easier to put the big one to bed first.
Same. The last couple weeks when my H was gone, I bathed them together, put jammies on, and brought C in while I read to DS. Luckily he's pretty easy at night, so then I could devote my energy to the baby.
Lol LizInFL Seriosuly though, guilting you about taking your two LOs to come to her.... Side eye... My MIL would do/say the saaaaame exact thing. In fact, we had to go to them Xmas Eve dinner with brand new 7-8 week old twins. I'm confident they're expecting us to attend 6am mass with them for Easter at their church. New rule, if you want to come to my house and get them ready, out the door, and deal wth them when they're overstimulated - then yes, we'll do what you want... But if not, get lost, I'm doing things my way now.
sophiegrace Terrible!!!! This is my biggest fear bc when MHs dad and the plumber (his friend) set up the furnace, hot water heater, and electrical downstairs they really crammed a lot into one space to "maximize" the rest of the space. They swear getting them in/out won't be an issue if we need to, buttttttt, it won't be easy either - that's for sure. God I hope they can jimmy rig your furnace, this is not the weekend to be without it. Can you guys go somewhere if it falls through? Family or friends? Or would you need to get a hotel ? I guess space heaters would work but I don't like or trust them personally and IIRC you have big ceilings/spaces so yeah that prob wouldn't work anyway.
tgrimes1980 I hope you got your cabbage and that you're in boob comfort heaven. Also, please let H know that your friends say it's ok if he sleeps tonight, he won't miss anything.
I think they're calling for 2+ feet of snow here - H and I are already planning what we want to get done in the house with our "day off of work" lol - wishful thinking.
So we do story time in C's room. H either joins us or hangs out ib his crib with the mobile (depending on his mood). Tuck in C then spend however long it takes to get H settled.
This is exactly how I handle solo bedtime with both boys too.

Stuck in quite box..,
Lol. I love this. Can we get the last part printed on a sign?
