Moms of 2+: were your BH more intense with subsequent pregnancies? I'll ask my OB about when to be concerned at my next appt, but it seems early for them to be so intense!
Mine are definitely more noticeable this time around. I had to sit down in Home Depot yesterday to stop them. I've been having them since around 20 weeks. I even had a couple that were painful yesterday.
My midwife said as long as they are not rhythmic or increasingly intense that it's not concerning.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm having some BHs with this one. I'm still not 100% that's what I'm feeling though. I never felt a single BH or contraction with DD until I was in L&D being induced at 41 weeks.
When is everyone planning to get out (for STM+) or set up (for FTM) and wash the bigger baby stuff, like the swing, bouncer, etc? I don't want to be stressing about getting it out of the attic and washing it if baby comes early, but at the same time that stuff takes up a lot of space and I don't want my older kids messing with them too much. What's the sweet spot? Maybe 35 weeks?
sdlaura - FTM here. My shower isn't until 35 weeks. I figured we would set up stuff the next week or two after that. I want to have some time for our dog to get used to it. We'll actually have the cosleeper in the next few weeks, so we might set that up just before the shower (I'm sure my family will want to check it out).

I'll start pulling the bigger things out and cleaning them up once her nursery is ready. Our contractor is hoping to start on Monday, and I don't know how long he thinks it will take (a week, 2? I don't think it should be more than 2 unless we have problems getting the new carpet installed.) my plan is to set them up in her room and the spare room until we need them and hopefully that will keep C from trying to play with them.

I'm actually going to get things out in the next couple of weeks while my MIL is here to help out. I'll be cleaning all the big stuff and washing and putting away clothes and diapers.
I also need to test the co-sleeper with our new bed and make sure it's secure.
But I won't leave it set up until around 36-37 weeks. I want the dog to have time to do all her sniffing and get used to it.
I was thinking probably around 38 weeks or so. That could change if baby's not growing as well as we'd like, but that's the plan for now. Both DD and DS were within 2 days of their due date, so unless we have reason to believe this LO will come early, I don't want those things taking up space in my house.

So can I ask what BH feel like? Is it possible to describe? Lately I've been feeling like weird tightness but it's on the top/side of my bump. It comes and goes at no real interval and sometimes happens out of the blue. But I need to stop and sit to deal with it as it's really uncomfortable. With DS it was all back labor so that's what I recall as contractions. I feel like BH would be much lower, right?

I got a lot of BH in my last pregnancy and have been getting them for months this time. To me, my uterus tightens up and feels like a hard basketball in my belly. It doesn't hurt or feel crampy, but I can feel the tightness if that makes sense.
starsandshamrocks123, for my BH I feel the tightness at the top and side of my bump like you describe. But then if I place my hand on my belly, the whole thing feels really firm/tight. I don't really feel the tightness lower like you're asking, but my whole bump does feel tight if I feel it with my hand. They aren't painful but they do sometimes catch me by surprise and make me jump!
It can be a bit uncomfortable but should not be painful. I feel them sometimes at the top, sometimes at the bottom. But if you press you'll probably notice the whole uterus is firm, you just only really feel it at one spot.

For me, I feel the tightness but it doesn't hurt. Sometimes it is mildly u comfortable, but I don't have to stop what I'm doing. I mostly only notice them if I'm already still. Since this weekend I have been getting some discomfort at the top of bump too. It's not something I remember having with DD, and it also comes and goes. It doesn't hurt so much, but it is definitely in comfortable and I am better off sitting or i begin to feel sick. I have no idea what it is. Maybe it's another form of BH, but idk.

Thanks, everyone. Next time I'll try to notice if it's tight all over as well. I was just expecting to feel them like a way lower cramp. At my last ultrasound they asked if I felt cramps and I said no. Maybe they were seeing some mild ones that I wasn't feeling. Who knows. I'll ask my dr next week. Not like it worries or bothers me, just curious

ihatepizza same thing happened to me when i went in for an ECV with DD1. apparently they were super consistent at that point, but i felt nothing. i did feel plenty of other BH though. pregnancy is so weird!
At my company meeting on Tuesday everyone was asking how I'm feeling. I actually don't mind that question. But one of my friends remarked how it must be annoying to answer it 10 times in a row that night.
Stupid question because I forget: They shave you before you deliver, vaginally or c-section, right? If yes, anyone have any issues with it? I shave myself and don't enjoy it. My skin is super sensitive. I probably won't care in the heat of the moment, right?

Before my c-section they had DW shave me. I don't know, but I would be surprised if they shaved you for a vaginal delivery.
Okay, phew. Hoping to avoid a c-section so then would avoid shaving. If I need a c-section, I'll be anxious enough I won't notice, I think.

Wow I didn't think of that... not sure my H would be all about that.
During emergency c-section I vividly recall the shaving. I was thinking, why on earth... just cut me open!!! And then being sort of embarrassed after like, should I have shaved regardless of my birth plan? Was it that unruly LOL? I'll be curious if they request the shaving prior to the RCS.

Well this is good to know, guess I have another thing on my to do list

I always shave, every shower so they didn't have to for my c-section. They were all "great, so that's done!" 😂😂
