For a c section The incision is in the hairline so shaving is necessary. I had trimmed really well with an electric razor the day before so I don't think the did anything extra during my emergency c section.
I'm glad I did because it made keeping everything clean easier after.
What is this shaving you speak of for a c section?! What areas are they shaving? Does this happen in an emergency c section?
Mind blown. I tried to be tidy ish for my vaginal delivery with DD. And try to shave this pregnancy but it is getting hard, I can't see a thing over my ginormous stomach and it's only going to get bigger lol
Me: 29 DH: 35 NTNP since May 2013 charting since June 2014 dx: Graves disease (radioactive iodine), Crohns disease (abdominal surgeries) MMC October 2015 (9 weeks) Severe MFI diagnosis July 2015

Lindsay, it was definitely the top area shaved near the incision. At the time I really had no idea what the noise was as there was so much going on. In my panicked state I thought the buzzing was whatever tool they would be using to make the incision. Like are you cutting me open with a tiny chainsaw LOL. Then I realized it was just shaving. Must be standard for any c-section to make sure the area is smooth...
I asked DH last night if he would be willing to help. He said he would but it would be an odd experience.

What?! This is news to me too. I don't like the sound of it either.

So I'm bringing this thread back. I'm pretty sure I just got a hemorrhoid ... never had one before but maybe tmi feels like I have a pea stuck outside of my bum... doesn't hurt unless I like use those muscles. Just very awkward and uncomfortable.
Anyone else whose been there... is this sticking around til birth? Or can I get it to go away? Is this something I call my dr about or do I try to deal with it? And is it going to get worse??
Sounds like a hemorrhoid. It could get better. Hopefully, it does because last time mine got worse with pushing during labor. I've had some so far this pregnancy that have come and gone away pretty quickly.
I wouldn't necessarily call the doctor unless it gets bigger and more painful. Get some tucks pads (I buy a big tub of the generic kind) and use those when you go to the bathroom. Also, get some over the counter hemorrhoid cream. Both of those are on my approved list from my Dr. Hopefully, they're on your list too.

bewise thanks... I was like WTF when I realized. I know it's common but it's very weird. I'm at MILs so I tried witch hazel. My drs online list if ok meds doesn't include this type of stuff so I'll prob end up calling if it gets worse. I just want to wake up tomorrow and have it gone LOL but not optimistic

Sorry just a first for me!!!
No clue but I have giant varicose veins in my groin so I am feeling your pain in a slightly different location. Pregnancy isn't glamorous!
animaldoctor same here. I had it with DD too and it went away thank goodness. It's back again and I think worse this time. It feels like my groin is literally on fire sometimes when I stand for too long. 😩

My doctor prescribed me some Anu.cort suppositories so the swelling will go away before I give birth.

animaldoctor I thought I had those a few weeks ago but I guess I just strained a tendon. Feel you on the groin pain and from what I've heard/read, those veins are awful

ttcbabyj didn't realize that was a thing. Does it work? I'm having a RCS so I won't have the pushing issue... but man even walking sucked today. Such an odd feeling and I don't have an appt with my OB again for another week+

Yes, they REALLY made a difference. Make sure you put the suppositories in the refrigerator. This way they won't break up. It is easier to insert a hard suppository. I may not have to push either if I have a C-section. But I was very uncomfortable and the hemorrhoids were bleeding quite a bit.

I feel like I can't complain because this started like yesterday... I'm sure many have dealt for a long time and with previous pregnancies. I think last time I had issues post partum but not on the outside and it didn't hurt all the time.
But here's where I admit that it's much bigger than it was yesterday. And much more painful... And I've been terrified to poop so I'm sure mentally I will avoid it, and it's going to escalate.

I like the calemoseptine baby ointment, put it on BEFORE you poop and right after. It's the best

Thanks for the suggestions... appreciate them. It's not one of those questions I would typically text to the usual friends. My sister, yes, but she seems to forget everything about her 3 pregnancies!!
