layloo08 buying a house is definitely worth meal planning. I definitely need to meal plan better, but is always a down fall of mine. I will check out that website and try for tomorrow.
I did try tonight, thinking I could grab groceries. Well my usual grocery store has under gone major stupid renovations! They now have their carts locked and you need a loonie deposit. I never carry change. So that was fun, carrying/coraling a toddler and trying to get groceries. Ended up just grabbing a to go meal. Healthier and cheaper.

Oh man! We have one chain that locks their carts.. I don't go there haha. Is grocery pick up an option? It is for us at a more expensive store but I find that I spend less and buy healthier (usually) when I do it all online. Saves time too!

layloo08,there are a couple of places that do grocery pick up. I had never considered it before, but with our hectic schedules these days, that might just be the way to go! Thanks for the suggestion. I will research this tonight!

So I made corn muffins tonight from a mix (not my usual one) and they are dry as can be. Like, not really worth eating kind of dry. Any ideas how I can repurpose these so they don't go to waste? I'm sure I can make croutons, but what would I use those for?
M- Santa Fe Crockpot chicken - packmomma this is something you can make for a crowd. (1 lb of chicken sprinkle with cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper and garlic powder, dump 2 cans of rotel on top, along with 1 can of corn (drained), and 2 cans of black beans (drained). Cook on low 7 hours, shred chicken add cheese, cover and let cheese melt and serve. You can serve over rice, by itself or on tortillas. I add cilantro. When on tortillas, I also add avocado and sour cream and fresh red onions.
T - perogies and peas and fruit W - Chicken quesadillas, veggies and fruit Th- Left over Santa Fe Chicken in tortillas (tacos) F - I will be in hospital S - Ham and mac and cheese, broccoli, and fruit S - I don't know. But its going to be a home cooked sunday dinner.
Nothing terribly exciting, but here's my plan: M-salmon, rosemary fries and broccoli T-chick pea curry and rice (still one of E's faves) W-shrimp scampi, I think R-turkey chili and cornbread muffins F-Mexican restaurant! We couldn't go last week because DH had to pick up his car from the tint place for the second time and I was super annoyed! It is happening this week S-Maybe i'll cook something ambitious. I've been enjoying more cooking on the weekends when I have time.

packmomma when my parents were here (4 adults, 2 kids) I made:
- a big pot of potato bacon soup (pioneer woman recipe) - Chicken bacon club sandwiches and sweet potato fries (I did a lb of bacon and 1 breast/ 2 sandwiches) - Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes (pioneer woman recipe also. Did double recipe) - Homemade pizza, one meat lovers and one Thai chicken
That might not help but hey haha some ideas. I usually do an appie night for supper too because you can prepare dips and stuff ahead of time and then just throw some hot appies in the oven.
Saturday - tortellini bake Sunday - leftovers Monday - Fish and broccoli cheddar noodles Tuesday - Broccoli cheese soup and ham wraps Wednesday- Breakfast for dinner Thursday - McTeachers night at McDonald's to support C's elementary school Friday - Pizza
I just got mine into the slowcooker! Will let you know how it turns out
I picked it for my adventure recipe haha. I've never pickled something for a recipe before or had Banh Mi so I wanted to try it
I had a Blue Apron meal a couple of weeks ago that had me pickle grated carrots kind of like that, and we really enjoyed it. I like the idea of adding radish too. I will most definitely be getting pre-grated carrot and radish for this one though. Ain't nobody got time for that!
